Throughout to all the sessions we had, I was able to explore topics that go beyond academics and

touch on the real challenges and responsibilities of life. Each discussion from leadership and
volunteerism to mental health, drug awareness, gender education, and community organizing gave
me lessons that shaped not only my knowledge but also my values and personal outlook.
Marist Leadership taught me that leadership is not about power or control, but about serving with
humility, kindness, and love. It showed me that being a leader means making people feel valued and
supported. Even small acts like encouraging peers or helping classmates already reflect good
leadership. This inspired me to grow into a leader who leads to inspire the future, not by authority.
Volunteerism emphasized the importance of giving without expecting anything in return. Before, I
thought small acts of help did not matter, but I realized that even little things, like school clean-up
drives or helping a classmate can make a real difference. Volunteerism reminded me that kindness
and service build stronger communities and shape our character. It inspired me to continue helping
others, not for recognition, but because it is the right thing to do.
Mental Health was a very personal topic. I learned that mental health is just as important as physical
health because it affects how we think, feel, and handle challenges. As a student, I often feel pressure
and stress, and this topic reminded me that it’s okay to not always be okay. Taking care of my mental
health makes me more resilient and allows me to support others too. I realized that listening to myself
and others can be powerful in building healing and understanding.
Health and Drug Education broadened my perspective on what health means. It is not just about
avoiding sickness, it includes physical, mental, and social well-being. Learning about the harmful
effects of drugs made me realize the importance of making wise choices and resisting peer pressure.
I now see that true strength is saying “no” to harmful things, and that awareness can save not only my
life but also influence others to make safer decisions.
Community Organizing was one of the most powerful topics. It taught me that real change does not
come from waiting for others to act but from people uniting with a common purpose. Organizing is
about empowerment, helping communities help themselves through shared responsibility and
cooperation. This connects with my experiences in group work, where progress only happens when
everyone participates. I now see that even one voice, when joined with others, can make a difference.
Community organizing inspired me to want to take part in uniting people, especially to support those
who feel unheard.
Gender Education taught me about respect, inclusivity, and equality. It opened my eyes to how
stereotypes and discrimination harm individuals, especially those in the LGBTQ+ community. This
session reminded me that education plays a vital role in breaking ignorance and hate. It encouraged
me to embrace my identity and stand for acceptance and respect for others. This topic was not only
about awareness but also about hope, that someday everyone can feel safe to express who they truly
are.
Conclusion
All of these sessions are deeply connected by one lesson, growth, change, and healing happen when
people act with compassion, courage, and unity. Leadership and volunteerism showed me how to
serve others with humility, mental health and health education reminded me to take care of myself
while supporting others; gender education taught me acceptance; and community organizing inspired
me to work with others toward real change.
Together, these lessons gave me not just knowledge but also values I want to carry forward. As a
student and as a future leader, I hope to live with kindness, empathy, and responsibility. These topics
did not just inform me, they shaped me into someone who is ready to care, to act, and to contribute to
a better community.
