10 Bài Nói Tiếng Anh Dài Hơn (Đơn

Giản)
Topic 1: Describe a relaxing activity you enjoy
One relaxing activity that I really enjoy is listening to music. I usually do it every day,
especially when I feel tired, stressed, or bored. It’s a simple thing, but it really helps
me feel better. I often listen to music when I come home from school or before I go
to sleep.

Most of the time, I listen alone using my phone and headphones. But sometimes,
when I’m with my friends, we share songs and listen together. We also sing along or
talk about our favorite artists and music styles.

I love many types of music, like pop, ballads, or relaxing piano songs. Each type
brings a different feeling. For example, when I feel sad, I listen to soft songs to calm
down. When I want to feel happy or more energetic, I choose fast songs or
something fun.

Music helps me relax because it takes me to another world. It makes me forget about
my problems for a while. It also helps me focus when I study or feel sleepy. That’s
why music is very important in my daily life. It’s more than just entertainment – it’s
like my best friend.

Topic 2: Describe a close friend or family member

I would like to talk about my best friend. Her name is Linh and we have been friends
for about five years. We met in high school when we were in the same class. At first,
we just talked a little, but later we started hanging out more and became really
close.

We do many things together. We study together, go to the café, watch movies, and
sometimes travel on weekends. When I feel sad or tired, she always listens and gives
me advice. We can talk about everything, and she never judges me. I do the same for
her too.

Linh is very friendly and cheerful. She always smiles and brings good energy to
people around her. I like that she is honest, kind, and always there for me. She also
has a good sense of humor, so we always laugh a lot when we’re together.

What I appreciate most about her is that she truly cares about me. Even when we
are busy, she still checks in on me. I feel lucky to have a friend like her. She makes
my life happier and easier, and I hope we can stay friends for a long time.

Topic 3: Describe a place you live or have lived in

I am living in Ho Chi Minh City, which is one of the biggest and busiest cities in
Vietnam. It is located in the south of the country and is also known as Saigon. I’ve
lived here for many years, so I know it quite well.

Living in this city is interesting because there are so many things to do. There are
shopping centers, parks, restaurants, and many fun places to go with friends. The
city never sleeps, and it’s always full of energy.

What I like about Ho Chi Minh City is the convenience. You can find anything you
need quickly — food, clothes, or entertainment. Also, the food here is very delicious
and cheap. There are many street food stalls and local dishes to try.

However, there are some things I don’t like. The traffic is often very bad, especially
during rush hours. It’s also noisy and a bit crowded. But I think these are normal in
big cities.

Living here has helped me become more independent and active. I have learned how
to manage my time, travel by myself, and meet new people. I think this city has had a
big influence on who I am today.

Topic 4: Describe a learning experience you have had

One learning experience I remember clearly is when I learned how to cook. I started
learning when I was about 14 years old. At that time, my mom asked me to help her
in the kitchen. At first, I only did simple things like washing vegetables or boiling
eggs.

Later, my mom taught me how to cook more difficult dishes. She showed me how to
make fried rice, noodle soup, and even Vietnamese dishes like bánh xèo and canh
chua. She was very patient and explained everything step by step.

At first, I made a lot of mistakes. Sometimes the food was too salty or not cooked
enough. But my mom never got angry. She helped me learn from my mistakes and
improve. After some time, I could cook by myself without help.

This learning experience changed me a lot. It helped me become more independent

and responsible. Now, when my parents are busy, I can cook meals for my family. It
also makes me feel proud when someone says my food is delicious. I think learning
to cook is a useful skill that I will need for the rest of my life.

Topic 5: Describe a health issue that is important in your community

A health issue that is very important in my community is air pollution. I live in a big
city, and every day, there are many motorbikes, cars, and factories that make the air
dirty. Sometimes when I go outside, I can feel the smoke and dust in the air. It makes
me feel uncomfortable, especially when I have to walk or ride a bike.

Air pollution can cause many health problems, such as coughing, headaches, and
lung diseases. People who already have asthma or allergies feel worse when the air
is bad. Children and older people are affected the most.

Some organizations are trying to solve this problem. They teach people about how
to protect the environment, and they plant more trees in the city. Schools also
encourage students to ride bicycles or use public transport instead of private
motorbikes.

I think we can help by using less plastic, saving electricity, and not burning trash. If
everyone does something small, we can make a big difference. Air is something we
all need, so we must work together to keep it clean and safe.

Topic 6: Describe a memorable place you stayed while traveling

One memorable place I stayed was a homestay in Da Lat. I went there with my
family last summer holiday. The homestay was on a small hill, surrounded by trees,
flowers, and fresh air. It was very quiet and peaceful, which was different from the
noisy city I live in.

The room we stayed in was simple but cozy. There was a big window with a view of
the mountains. Every morning, I could see the fog and hear birds singing. It made
me feel calm and relaxed.

The owners of the homestay were very friendly. They cooked breakfast for us and
shared stories about local life. One evening, they made a small BBQ party for all the
guests, and we sat around the fire, singing and talking.

What made this place special for me was the natural beauty and the warm people. I
felt very comfortable there, like I was at home. If I have a chance, I would love to go
back and stay longer. I would also recommend it to my friends because it is a perfect
place to relax and enjoy nature.

Topic 7: Describe a sporting experience you have had

One sporting experience I had was playing in a football match at school. It happened
last year during our school’s sports festival. Each class had to form a team and
compete with other classes. I joined my class team, and we practiced for a few
weeks before the match.

The match took place on a Saturday morning. It was hot and sunny, and many
students came to watch and cheer for us. I played in defense, so my job was to stop
the other team from scoring. I was very nervous at the beginning because I didn’t
want to make a mistake.

During the match, we all tried our best. We passed the ball, ran a lot, and helped
each other. In the end, we didn’t win, but I was still proud because we played as a
team and supported one another.

This experience taught me the importance of teamwork and communication. It also

showed me that winning is not the most important thing — what matters is doing
your best and enjoying the game. I had a lot of fun, and I will always remember that
day.

Topic 8: Describe a health issue someone you know has faced

Someone I know who had a health issue is my uncle. A few years ago, he was
diagnosed with high blood pressure. He didn’t feel very sick at first, but he often felt
dizzy and tired. When he went to the doctor, he was surprised to learn that his blood
pressure was too high.

This problem changed his daily life a lot. He had to take medicine every day and
follow a strict diet. He couldn’t eat salty or fatty food anymore. He also had to stop
smoking and start exercising more, like walking every morning.
His family supported him by cooking healthy meals and reminding him to take his
medicine. They also encouraged him to live a healthier life. After a few months, his
health got better.

This experience changed his thinking. He now takes care of his health seriously and
tells everyone in the family to check their health regularly. I also learned from him
that we should not wait until we are sick to care about our bodies.

Topic 9: Describe a time you had to book accommodation for a trip

Last year, I traveled to Nha Trang with two of my friends during the summer
holiday. Before we went, I was the one in charge of booking the accommodation. I
searched online using a travel app and looked at many hotels and guesthouses.

I read the reviews and checked the photos carefully. I wanted to find a place that
was clean, comfortable, and not too expensive. After comparing a few places, I chose
a small hotel near the beach. It had good ratings and free breakfast.

Booking the hotel was easy, and we received a confirmation email quickly. When we
arrived, the staff was friendly, and the room looked just like the pictures. It was a
great experience. The location was perfect — we could walk to the beach in five
minutes.

This experience taught me how to plan a trip better. I learned that it’s important to
check reviews and compare prices. I was happy that my friends liked the place I
chose, and we had a fun time together.

Topic 10: Describe a summer holiday from your childhood

One summer holiday I will never forget was when I was about 10 years old. That
summer, my family took me to my grandparents’ house in the countryside. We
stayed there for two weeks, and it was one of the best times in my childhood.

The place was very quiet and peaceful. There were rice fields, rivers, and a big
garden behind the house. Every morning, I woke up early and helped my grandma
water the plants. In the afternoon, I went fishing with my cousins and played games
outside.

There was no internet or TV, but I never felt bored. I loved eating the food my
grandma cooked. Everything was fresh and tasty, especially the fruits from her
garden.

What made this holiday special was the time I spent with my family. We laughed a
lot, told stories, and shared simple but happy moments together. Even now, when I
think about that summer, I feel warm and relaxed. It’s a memory I will always keep
in my heart.
