Unit 17 2D & 3D Digital Graphics Assignment 2

90% of models that I created uses the tools Scale, Grab, Rotate and Extrude
Layout

Chaise Lounge

To create this model:

 I used a mesh cube and scaled the cube on the X and Y axis to make the object to
look more like a rectangle. I also used the Extrude tool (by pressing the E key while
in Object mode) on the Z axis to make the cube thinner so that it is like the same
thickness of a chaise lounge. I also used the scale tool to stretch the cube another
axis to make the cube longer.
 To create the back/head rest, I used the Loop Cut tool (CRTL+R) to create vertices
that surrounds the cube, with the scroll wheel on the mouse, the loop tool will stretch
to create multiple edges on each on the X and Y axis. With this, I used the tool to
outline where the legs will be and where the back/head rest will be.
 While in Editing Mode, I selected the faces of the head rest part and using the Scale
Tool on the Z axis, I have managed to raise the head rest up to create a shape that is
like a Chaise Lounge back rest.
 To create the legs of the model, I added in a mesh cube and used the Scale tool to
change the size of the object. I then used the Extrude tool to make the object longer.
With using the Loop Cut tool and stretch tool, I created multiple vertices on the object
while in Edit Mode, by selecting the vertices that I wanted to change the shape of, I
used the proportional Mode while Scaling which shows a circle around the object,
with this I could change the shape to make it look more like a leg of furniture. With
this created, I generated an Array which copies the object selected and used the G
key while on object mode to move the object. When this was done, I generated a
Mirror which copied both legs to the other side of the object.

The texture that I used

for the Chaise Lounge was a Maroon Fabric texture for the cushion and I used a Dark Wood
texture for the legs.

Writing Table

To create this model:

 I created a Mesh Plane and Scaled it on the X and Y axis to look like a rectangle.
With this done, I generated a Solidify on the object where I made the thickness 0.1m.
 With the table part done, I create a Mesh Cylinder where I Scaled it and moved it via
the G key on object mode to one of the corners of the rectangle. With this done, I
generate a Mirror which mirrored the object to the other corner.
 As this was just half of the table, I selected the legs and table in object mode by
holding down the Shift button and clicked on the object I wanted. With this done, I
duplicated the object, this was done by pressing SHIFT+D to the selected object, I
then pressed CTRL+M and one of the axis that I wanted to flip on. When this was
done, I held the CRTL button while having the copied object selected to line it up with
the original object. After, I used the join object tool (CRTL+J) to join object together.
The texture I used for
this model was a Dark Wood texture.

Floor

For this model:

 I created a Mesh Plane where I Scaled it to a correct size
 In Vertex Edit Mode, by pressing the G key twice and selecting the point I wanted to
move. I grabbed the vertices to points which would make the basic floor layout.

The Texture I used for a

Floor Pattern texture.

Rugs

For these Models:

 I created multiple Mesh Planes which by using the Scale Tool I changed the sizes of
each of the planes and I used the Grab Tool to move these into place and to overlap
these objects by using the Z axis while on the Grab Tool.
The texture I used for
these objects were 4 Rug Texture

Wall

For this Model:

 I created a Mesh Cube and by using the Scale Tool, I changed the shape of the cube
to look like a thin wall type shape
 With that done, in Edit Mode I selected the Face and Extruded it to make an outline
of the stage.

The texture I
used for this was an Old Wood Texture.
Fireplace

For this Model:

 I created a Mesh Cube which I used the Scale and Extrude Tool so it would fit within
the walls
 Once the object was Scaled to the size which I wanted, I created 5 Loop Cuts on the
X and Y axis. When this was done, I used the Face mode and the selected the faces
I wanted and deleted them by pressing ‘Delete’ on the keyboard.
 When this was done, I added some detail by using the Scale Proportion mode.

Before adding
texture to this, I had changed the model by deleting the chimney part and making the top of
the Fireplace wider via the Scale Tool. The texture I used for this was a Brick Texture

Chester Table

For this model:

 I created a Mesh Cube which I Scaled to the object to make it look like a cuboid.
 With this done, in Edit Mode I created multiple Loop Cuts on the X axis and one on
the Y axis, this was done so that I could shape out the draws and the door to the
Chester Table. Once the Draws and Door outlines were created, I used the Extrude
Tool to bring out so that there is a 3D effect.
 Near the top of the object, I added a couple more Loop Cuts to add a little bit of style
to the object.
 After this was done, I added a Mesh Torus and Scale and Rotate the object and used
the G key to Grab the object to move it towards one of the Doors on the object. When
this was done, I generated a mirror so that it would appear on the other door.
 When that was completed, I added another Mesh Cube to which I Scaled to make it
to a size of a Chest-a-draws handle. With that part done, I selected one Edge and by
using the G key and holding CRLT, I dragged that Edge to another Edge to create a
handle like shape.
 On another edge, I used the Bevel tool that was done by pressing CRLT+B, which
creates a round edge to the object.

For the Chester

Table, I used a Wood Texture and for the handles, I used a Brass Texture

Easel

For this model:

 I added a Mesh Cube and Scaled it to a small size which I then pressed SHIFT+D on
the cube which duplicates the object. When this was done, I selected the copied the
object and by pressing the G key to grab the object and then pressing the X to move
on the that axis, I moved the cube.
 With this done, I entered Edit/Face Mode and Selected the cubes top faces and used
the Extrude tool on the Z axis up to a point where I would stop and unselect Extrude
mode and go to Scale mode while on Proportional Mode and press the X button
while still having the cubes faces selected. This would move the top part inward to
create an arch.
 At this part, both objects were not connected, so to solve this I selected two edges on
each top part of the ‘cube’ and by using the Rotate tool while on Proportional Mode I
created a slight in climb where I could then Select the same faces as before and
press the F key to create a face
 Halfway down the object, using the Loop Cut tool I create two edges on both original
cubes. With this done, I select two faces and use the Extrude tool on the Y axis to
bring out the faces to create a holder for the canvas.
 After this on the back part of the arch at the top of the Easel, I create 4 edges via the
Loop Cut Tool and select the two faces that has been made. I then use the Extrude
tool on the Y axis out a small amount and then I use the same tool but on the Z axis
to create another stand.
 For the Canvis, I create a Mesh Plane and add a Solidify with a thickness of 0.5m. I
then Scale, Rotate and Grab the object to be on the Easel.

The texture I used

for the Easel was a Light Wood Texture and the Canvis has an Old Canvis Texture

Chair

For this model:

 I used a Mesh Plane to where I generated a Solidify to which change the thickness to
0.1m ad Scaled the object to a Chair type size.
 After, I used the Loop Cut Tool to create edges so that I could create the back part of
the chair.
 The back part of the chair was done by selecting the two faces that appeared after
making the Loop Cuts. And extruding them to a reasonable height, I then created,
and Loop cut near the top of each Extruded object so that I could make an arch such
as the one for the Easel.
 I the made the legs, which was done by the same way as the Chaise Lounge legs.
 When this was done, I then created Loop Cuts around the chair and scaled them in
Proportion mode
The texture I used
was a Dark Wood Texture

Armchair

For this model:

 I created a Mesh Cube which I Scaled the object to an Armchair size which I then
duplicated it, with CTRL+D, and Scaled that cube smaller than the original but I also
moved it so that it would stick out of the other cube. With the smaller cube that is
inside of the original one, I generated a Boolean which make an in dent of the smaller
cube within the original cube. I the deleted the smaller object
 When that was done, I could then design the Chair. I had done this by creating Loop
Cut edges and with those selected, I used a Bevel (CRTL+B) which make the back
part of the chair round.
 With this done, I could then add more Loop Cuts so that I could remove parts that I
did not want.
 After that, I created the legs. I did that the same way as I did for the Chaise Lounge
Model

The texture I used

for this was a red Fabric Texture
Sofa

For this model:

 I used a Mesh Cylinder and Scaled it on the X axis to a sofa type of size, I then did
the same thing to create the armchair. Where I select the object and pressed
SHIFT+D to duplicate the object, I then Scaled that copied object smaller and then
generate a Boolean which create an in dent within the original object. I then deleted
the smaller object.
 When this was done, I started work on the cushions. This was done by selecting a
face which I then Extrude it. I would then create a Loop Cut from where I originally
started the Extrudtion. And then I create another Loop cut to create three shapes that
would look like three cushions.
 After this, created the legs by the same way as I created the legs for the Chasie
Lounge.

The textures I
used was a Maroon Wood Texture for the legs and main structure. I also used a black Fabris
for the three cushions

Table

For this model:

 I created a Mesh Cylinder to which I Scaled to a point that where it looks like a top of
a table.
 I then added another Mesh Cylinder where I Scaled and Extruded it to appear as a
table stem. I then moved the object to the centre of the bottom of the table
 When this was done, I made a Mesh Cube to which I Scaled it to look a wedge. After
this, I generated an Array and chose to copy it three times. From this, I used the
Grab tool and placed them around the stem of the table.
 After, I Joined the object together via CTRL+J
 By using the Loop Cut tool and the Extrude tool on the top part of the table, I made a
type of design that would be within the era of the Act.

The texture I used

for this was a Dark Wood Colour

Door

For this model:

 I created a Mesh Cube and Scaled it to a thin rectangle shape
 When this was done, I used the Extrude tool on the Y axis to create a door like
design
 After, I made a Mesh Cylinder to which I Scaled and Rotated to look like a Doorknob.
With this done, I used the G key and moved it within the door.

The texture I used

for the door was a Dark Wood texture and I used a Brass texture for the doorknob
Window

For this model:

 I created a Mesh Cube and Scaled it to a window frame type size and width.
 After, I then used the Extrude tool to create a part with the window would go

The Frame uses a

Wood Texture, and the windows uses a Window type texture but with transparency

Photo Frames

For this model:

 I used a Mesh Cube and Scaled it to a photo frame type size.
 I then selected the outer faces within Edit Mode and used the Extrude tool on the Y
axis to create an edge on them.
 After, I use CTRL+D to duplicate them three times and scaled them to be different
from each other

The texture I used is

an Old Photo Frame Texture

Wall Lamps

For this model:

 I used a Mesh Cube and Scaled to a small size. With that done, I went into Edit Mode
and used the vertices mode. I could then drag the vertices by using GG and holding
the SHIFT button to have a steady movement to create a wall lamp bass shape.
 With that done, I used the Loop Cut tool to created edges so that I create a square
that would show within the middle, and I use that face to be what holds the lamp
shade.
 I did by selecting the face and extrude it along the Y axis, I then used the Rotate tool
and Extrude tool again to be where the lamp shade would be.
 For the lamp shade, I create a Mesh Cone and Scaled it down to a small size and
moved it with the G key to have the point of the Cone to be just above the stem of the
other object.
The texture for the
Wall Lamp Base is a dark Wood texture and the Lamp Shade is an old Lamp Shade texture

Table Lamps

For these models:

 I used a Cylinder, where I used the Scale tool to make the object a Lamp base size.
And I used the Bevel and Proportional Scale Mode to add some design within the
lamp. For the lamp shade, I used a Mesh Cone and Scaled it to fit the size of the
base of the lamp.
 For the other lamp, I used a Mesh Cube and Scaled it to an equivalent size to the
round lamp. I used Proportional Scale Mode to add design to the base of the lamp
and I also used a Mesh Cube for the Lamp Shade which I Scaled

I used the same

Textures for the Wall Lamps. The Lamps bases use a dark Wood texture, and the Lamp
shades uses an Old Lamp Shade texture

Tea Pot and Mug

For this model:

 I used a Mesh Cylinder where I Scaled and Extruded it into a Teapot and mug type of
shape

The texture I used for

this was a China White texture

Before Texture
