CHAPTER III
RESEARCH METHODOLOGY
This chapter explains the design and study in detail. It gave us an accurate description of how the
work is done. The method and technique used it contains research approach research design
setting of the study, population. Sampling size, sampling technique, criteria for sample, selection
tool for data, collection, and tool validity.
RESEARCH APPROACH
Qualitative Research approach is used this study.
RESEARCH DESIGN
Descriptive Research design is used.
SAMPLE SIZE
The sample consists of 20 Nursing student in CSI College of Nursing, Marthandam.
SETTING OF THE STUDY
The study was conducted in CSI College of Nursing, Marthandam,
POPULATION
In this study, the target population comprises. The Nursing student in a study, the
accessible population are Nursing student in CSI College of Nursing, Marthandam,
SAMPLING TECHNIQUE.
It refers to the process of selecting of portion of the population to represent the
entire population technique used for study.
CRITERIA FOR SAMPLE SELECTION
Inclusion Criteria
Nursing students from CSI College of Nursing, Marthandam.
Nursing students who are present at the time of data collection.
Nursing students who are willing to participate in the study.
EXCLUSIVE CRITERIA
Nursing student who are not willing to participate in this study.
Nursing student who are not present at the time of data collection
DATA COLLECTION PROCEDURE
Data collection was done after containing permission from the principal CSI
College of Nursing, Marthandam. Data collection was done in CSI College of Nursing,
Marthandam. Duration of data collection 1 day.
ETHICAL CONSIDERATION
Study was conducted after getting permission from the principal CSI College of Nursing,
Marthandam, written consent was obtained from the Nursing student

RESEARCH TOOL
Section-A
Demographic variables
Demographic variables included age, gender religion, marital status types of
family, source of information area of Residency. Parent Rock patient level of
education. Medium of Institution
Section- B
Questionnaire regarding knowledge about organ donation.
It consists of 25 questions on knowledge regarding organ donation among nursing
students in CSI College of Nursing, Marthandam.
SCORING PROCEDURE
Each correct Answers carries ‘1’ mark and the wrong answers carries ‘0’ Mark total
score is 25. The score will be interpreted as follows.
21 – 25: Adequate knowledge
11 - 20: Moderate Knowledge
0 - 10: Inadequate Knowledge.
