shows that you have directed actors). We will view up to a maximum of 20 minutes of
material. If including links to Vimeo/YouTube channels etc, make sure to specify which film
to view and check that all links are live. Please do not submit a showreel with a montage of

One of the aims of this course is to help you identify what kind of director you are, what ignites your
passion to tell particular stories. During the course you will be reflecting on your strengths and
current limitations in order to acquire the necessary skills to best serve the stories you are drawn to
tell.
To answer the below questions, think back over what you have come across, written, developed or
directed in the last few years, as well as what you would like to direct in the future. The questions
are prompts only - not all may be relevant to you. We do not expect you to arrive as a fully-formed
filmmaker, but it is useful to know what level you feel your craft skills are at.
1. What is your current experience of directing actors, structuring stories, and directing a
crew (i.e. the other people responsible for camera work, sound, and editing)? Where
possible give examples from your C.V.
