Each box contains 10 books = 600 × 10 = 6000 books
∴ The distributor received 6,000 books in total.
10. Case Study:
A meditation hall has 30 rows, with 120 carpets in each row.
a)How many carpets are there in total?
Ans: 30 x 120 = 3600 carpets
b) If 3,400 people came for the meditation session, was the number of people more or less than the number
of carpets?
Ans: The number of people was less than the number of carpets
c) How many carpets were not used?
Ans: Since only 3,400 people came, and there were 3,600 carpets:
3600 – 3400 = 200
200 carpets were not used.
