Week 4 – Projects (Daily & Final Project)
Theme: Technology, Inventions, Innovations
✅ Day 1 – "Inventor Profiles"
Project Idea: Students research and create a mini-poster or slide about a famous inventor or
innovator (e.g. Nikola Tesla, Steve Jobs, Hedy Lamarr).
Focus Skills: Reading comprehension, summarizing, speaking.
Language Focus: Past simple (biographies), passive voice (e.g. The telephone was invented
by...).
Product: A short presentation or poster.
✅ Day 2 – "Gadget of the Future"
Project Idea: In groups, students design a futuristic gadget or smart device.
Focus Skills: Creative thinking, describing function and purpose.
Language Focus: Modals (can, might, will), future tenses (e.g. It will help you...).
Product: Drawings or mock-ups + short pitch.
✅ Day 3 – "How It Works"
Project Idea: Students choose a common tech object (e.g. a washing machine, smartphone,
drone) and explain how it works.
Focus Skills: Giving instructions, sequencing.
Language Focus: Present simple/passive, sequencing words (first, then, finally).
Product: Step-by-step diagram or explainer video.
✅ Day 4 – "Solve a Problem"
Project Idea: Groups identify a real-life problem and create a simple tech-based solution (e.g. a
device to help the elderly, reduce waste, improve learning).
Focus Skills: Problem-solving, collaboration.
Language Focus: Conditionals (e.g. If you use this app, it will...), persuasive language.
Product: Solution presentation with visuals.
✅ Day 5 – Final Project: “Innovation Fair”
Project Idea: Combine the week's projects into one cohesive group stand/presentation at a mini
"Innovation Fair."
Each group presents:
1. The inventor that inspired them (Day 1)
2. Their own gadget/solution (Days 2–4)
3. A poster, prototype, or digital presentation
Focus Skills: Presentation, teamwork, summarizing.
Product: Group presentation or fair-style exhibition.
