DATE: 12th – 30th September 2022

COMPONENTS OF THE LESSON:


Introduction, Prompter/Hook (3 - 5 minutes)
Activate students’ prior knowledge with the following question, what does
the sky look like today? Did it look the same yesterday? Have students
read the poem entitled “The Weather”

The Weather
When the weather is wet
We should not fret.
When the weather is cold
We should not scold.
When the weather is warm
We must no storm.
But be thankful together
Whatever the weather.
Time to teach: (10 - 14 minutes)
 Elicit from students what do they understand from the poem
 How are the day in the poem different
 Have students work in pairs to discuss the answers
 Present students with images of pictures depicting how person are
dressed based on the weather.
 Engage students in discussion as to what is likely to happen on
these days
Example: Windy day, leaves or garbage is being blown all over.

Time to practise: (15 – 30 minutes)

Have individual students place the correct weather name to the weather
condition
Time to Reflect and Share (3-5 minutes)
Have students share what they have learnt.
How the lesson includes the students’ contexts
After this lesson, they should become more aware of the weather
conditions and with continuous observation they can forecast or predict
what the weather will be on any given day.
