I. Introduction & Background

In many schools, attendance recording and access to academic information such as grades and

class schedules remain manual or fragmented. Students often need to log in to different portals or

rely on traditional methods which can be time-consuming and prone to errors.

To address this, the Learning Management System ID (LMS ID) is proposed. It is a simplified

student ID card integrated with a system that records attendance through a scanner and provides

easy access to the school portal, grades, and schedules.

II. Statement of the Problem

The current attendance system in the school is prone to manual errors and delays. Students

sometimes forget to sign attendance sheets, and teachers spend extra time verifying records.

Additionally, students face difficulties in accessing grades and schedules as they need to log in to

multiple platforms. These inefficiencies affect productivity and accuracy in academic record-

keeping.

III. Objectives of the Study

General Objective:

To develop a simplified Learning Management System ID (LMS ID) for student use.

Specific Objectives:

1. To record student attendance efficiently using an ID scanner.

2. To provide students with quick access to their grades and schedules.

3. To integrate attendance and portal login into a single ID system.

4. To reduce manual errors in attendance and academic record handling.

IV. Significance of the Study

The proposed LMS ID will benefit the following:

grades and schedules within the school. It will serve as a prototype for implementation in Makati

Science Technological Institute of the Philippines.

Limitations:

The system will not include advanced biometric verification or nationwide integration. It will be

limited to the school intranet and will only include core functionalities suitable for a prototype.

VI. Review of Related Literature/Projects

Several schools and universities have implemented RFID-based ID systems to improve

efficiency. For example, some institutions use RFID attendance systems where students simply

tap their ID cards on scanners. Meanwhile, Learning Management Systems (LMS) such as

Moodle and Canvas allow students to view grades and schedules.
