GOAL

What is the best method to troubleshoot the results of a formula?

FIX

The results of elements such as formulas can be investigated by selecting the option Trace All Elements during the absence
process.

This 'records' the results of each part of the the element as it is resolved.

To select this as part of the absence process navigate to the Calculate Absence and Payroll page (Global Payroll & Absence
Mgmt, Absence and Payroll Processing, Calculate Absence and Payroll, Calculate Absence and Payroll ). Then select the
Debug and Tuning Options link and click on the Trace All Elements option.

The results are viewable via the within the Element Resolution Chain page (Global Payroll & Absence Mgmt > Absence and
Payroll Processing > Review Absence/Payroll Info - Element Resolution Chain ).

It should be noted that the performance of the absence process could be severely affected by selecting this option. It
therefore may be a good practice to use a group with only a few employees selected when using the Trace All Options.
