ANNOTATION

I embrace an inquiry-based learning approach whereby I start with a question and


students come up with hypotheses for answering the questions. Through this
approach, students exercise skills like “predicting” and “testing” to seek
knowledge. This model is used to sequence lessons and activities which provide
best first instruction for all pupils. As seen in the whole detailed lesson plan
presented. The activity leading to review of the previous lesson encouraged them
to state what they remembered. They were able to share their thoughts about
previous lesson which is CVC words and relate it to the lesson. They were able to
comprehend because of the guide question thrown to them. Finally in the
evaluation part I was able to assess what they have learned and how much they
have learned. This type of learning strategy focuses on the sequence of learning
of the pupils. This helped them to get involved, observe, process information and
learn on their own and with the guidance of the teacher. This made huge impact
on the learning of the pupils. They were able to master the skill/ competency of
the said lesson. Inquiry based learning awakened their natural curiosity not only
through observation during the activity but also through the question asked to
help them think critically and creatively. They were able to engage their life
experiences in understanding what is being taught.
