Personal History of Sara Faraja A/qadir
Introduction
My name is Sara Faraja A/qadir, and I would like to share my personal history with you. I was born in
1981E.C. in Dalati Keble, Sabata City, Oromia Region, Ethiopia. I am the firstborn of three children
in my family, and my mother's name is Halima Kalifa. Growing up in a small village in the Oromia
region, my parents worked hard to provide me with a good education and a comfortable life.
Early Life and Education
I grew up in a small village in Dalati, located in the Oromia region. My family, though not wealthy,
provided a comfortable and nurturing environment. My parents instilled in me the values of hard
work, determination, and the importance of education.
I began my educational journey at Dalati Primary School in 1988. It was during my years there that I
developed a thirst for knowledge and a passion for learning. In 1996, I completed grade 8, marking an
important milestone in my education.
Motivated by my thirst for knowledge, I enrolled in Sabata High School, located in the city of Sabata, for
grades 9 and 10 in 1998. This transition from a small village to a larger city school was a significant
change for me. However, I quickly adapted, making new friends and broadening my horizons by learning
about the diverse challenges that people faced in the world.
In 2000E.C., I pursued further education at Waliso College, where I decided to major in Secret Science
Office Management. I was particularly drawn to this field because I wanted to develop skills that would
allow me to help others effectively. My time at college was transformative, as I honed my abilities and
expanded my knowledge in various areas. In 2003E.C., I successfully graduated, equipped with the
knowledge and skills needed to embark on my professional journey.
Currently, I am also a student at New Vision College Furi Campus (NVCFC), pursuing a Bachelor of
Arts degree in Management. I am eager to continue my education and acquire new skills and knowledge
that will further contribute to my career advancement and ability to make a positive impact.
Professional Career
Following my graduation, I secured a position as a Facilitating Officer at the Government Sheger City
Administration, Furi Sub-City. This role presented both challenges and rewards that aligned perfectly
with my passion for assisting others. I derive great satisfaction from working with people and helping
them solve problems that affect their lives.
As a Facilitating Officer, I have had the privilege of working with diverse individuals, ranging from
government officials to small business owners. I have played a crucial role in resolving disputes,
facilitating access to government services, and fostering the development of new business opportunities.
Through my work, I have witnessed firsthand the impact that effective facilitation and support can have in
empowering individuals and communities.
1
Beyond my professional commitments, I actively engage in community development projects.
Volunteering at a local orphanage allows me to provide care and support to vulnerable children who need
it most.
Additionally, as a member of a women's empowerment group, I contribute to initiatives aimed at
creating equal opportunities and improving the lives of women in our society.
Personal Life and Values
In my personal life, I am happily married and blessed with two children. My husband, who is also a
government employee, shares my commitment to making a positive difference in the world. Together, we
strive to raise our children to be hardworking, compassionate, and responsible individuals who contribute
meaningfully to society.
My values are rooted in the belief in the transformative power of education and the significance of giving
back to the community. I strongly advocate for social justice and equality, firmly believing that everyone
deserves equal opportunities to succeed, irrespective of their background or circumstances.
My ultimate goal is to utilize my education, skills, and experiences to effect positive change in the world.
I am particularly passionate about working with women and children, recognizing their immense potential
as the backbone of society. By investing in their development, I aim to create a better future for all, where
individuals can overcome challenges and achieve their full potential.
