Chapter 1
Overview of Local Security

HE LOCAL SECURITY
Local Security is an application that provides a designated person or persons in
an office with responsibility to create, maintain and delete signs for the users in
the office. This person is known as the local security administrator (LSA).
The Local Security package works by assigning security rights to different types
of users. The users who can maintain signs in local security are described in the
table below.

Table: Users who can Maintain Signs in Local Security

Security Level Rights

Amadeus Security The ASA has all rights over the entire Local Security
Administrator (ASA) package.
First-Level Help Desks FLHDs have the same rights as the LSA defined under
(FLHD) their vendor code.
Corporate Security The CSA is a local security administrator for an entire
Administrator (CSA) corporation defined by the corporate code and qualifier in
the office ID. A CSA must have the attribute LSA set to
Yes, and there must also be an Amadeus Extended
Ownership agreement (LSM) to allow the office to update
local security for the other offices. Refer to the Amadeus
Extended Ownership Security module for more
information.
Local Security The LSA has the rights that have been delegated to by
Administrator (LSA) the ASA for his or her office. The LSA is identified by the
attribute LSA set to Y in the Local Security package itself.
The Agent The agent has the rights that the LSA has delegated to
him or her.

Chapter 2
Sign Bank and Profile

Here we describe how to display the sign bank for an office, display an agent sign
profile and update attributes.

Displaying the Sign Bank

The sign bank of an office can be displayed by the local security administrator. It
cannot be displayed by an agent.
The entry to display a sign bank is:

JCD

 These signs are automatically created by Amadeus for initial access. The first sign
loses its LSA rights 28 days after first being used.

 These signs have been created for people working in the office

A sign is composed of:

 Four numbers. The numbers must be unique within the office.
 Two letters or numbers. This often identifies the initials of the person using
the sign. These two characters can be duplicated for several signs in the
office if the UNI attribute of the office default table is set to N.
The possible duty codes are listed in Basic Sign-in Entries 28.

© 2007 Amadeus s.a.s. - All rights reserved 3

The following table explains the sign bank display.

Table: Description of the Sign Bank Display

Attribute Description Possible Values

SIGN The signs defined for this office. Six characters,

alpha-numeric
LOC Agent Lock Indicator Y or N
If set to Y, the sign has been locked by the
local security administrator and the user
cannot sign in.
PLC Password Lock Indicator Y or N
If set to Y, the system has locked the user’s
password because there were too many
attempts to log in with the wrong password, or
the LSA has deliberately locked the sign. See
Resetting the Sign-in Password 13.
QCT Queue Sortation Category Indicator 2-3 digits
If used, all PNRs created by this sign that are
subject to automatic queue placement will be
placed on this category instead of the default
category, provided that the category has been
created for each queue.
DUTY CODES The duty codes that can be used with this sign. 2-letter duty code
USERNAME Identifies the user of the sign. 5-10 characters. A
space is a valid
character.

You can also display the sign bank by sections, as described in the following
table.

Agent preferences form part of the Amadeus local security package. They are
used to control some of the features of your working environment. Depending on
the security configuration in your office, you may be authorized to display your
preferences, or to update them.

Language Preference
A user can specify a language preference for the distribution system. The
language preference is attached to the sign and stored with the LNG attribute.
For the list of languages you can choose, see HE JGU.
The following areas in Amadeus are available in different languages:
 Amadeus Information Pages
 System responses
 Online help
 Sign-in messages
 Itinerary prints
Here we briefly describe each of these.

10 Edition 10.1
Chapter 2 Erreur ! Utilisez l'onglet Accueil pour appliquer Heading 1 au texte que vous souhaitez faire apparaître ici.

Amadeus Information Pages:

If the language preference is English, or no preference exists, the system
searches for the requested page in English. If the language preference is other
than English, the system searches the page in that language. However, if the
page is not available in that language the English page is displayed. You must
create the page in English before creating a page in another language.
To create a language version of an English page:
1. Display the Amadeus Information Pages in English.
2. Change the language preference using the following entry:

JGU/LNG-FR
3. Enter GMP to display the page in update mode.
The system displays a blank page where you can enter text. The language
code will appear in the header line, left of centre.
Note: If you create pages only in a language other than English, a user
signing in English will not be able to display your pages. Therefore
either add the fully translated text to the English page or append a note
such as: PAGE ONLY EXISTS IN GERMAN.
System Responses:
Any local ACO can translate the canned message table into the local language
upon request.
Online Help:
The entire online help is available in Spanish. Part of the help (PNR) is available
in Portuguese. The Portuguese translation is managed by the Brazil ACO.
Sign-in Messages:
Commercial sign-in messages can be rented by providers in order to promote
products. For single markets these messages can be entered in local languages.
Itinerary Prints:
The itinerary print packages translates most of the data into the language
preference stored in the terminal definitions.

Updating Sign Attributes

The transaction code to update an attribute is JGU. To update the value in a sign
attribute, enter, for example:

JGU7777LL/MUL-Y/DUTO-GS

JGU Transaction code

7777LL Sign
/MUL Slash, three-letter attribute (in this example, MUL for multiple
signs)
-Y Dash, the value for the attribute
/DUT Slash, next three-letter attribute (in this example, DUT for duty
code)
O Override indicator (to replace all existing values)
-GS Dash, new value for the attribute

This entry updates the sign 7777LL to allow multiple sign-ins and to override all
existing duty code values with GS.
Note: For the attributes DUT (duty code) and PAC (prohibited primary action
code), you must include one of these options in the entry:

A to add a value
O to override all values
X to cancel a value

Here are some examples:

Entry Description

JGU1234AB/DUTA-GS Adds duty code GS to sign 1234AB

JGU1234AB/PACO-P Overrides all existing values and sets the new value of
P in the PAC attribute, for sign 1234AB
JGU1234AB/DUTX-SU Cancels the duty code SU from sign 1234AB

The following table explains other sign update entries:

Entry Description

JGU1234BB/DUTO-AS,SU Updates sign 1234BB and overrides

existing duty codes with AS and SU.
JGU1234BB.NCE1A0123/DUTX-SU/LNG- Updates sign 1234BB in office
FR NCE1A0123, removes the duty code SU
and changes the language preference to
FR.
JGUALL.NCE1A0123/DUTA-AS/RAI-2V Updates all signs in office NCE1A0123 -
adds duty code AS and changes the rail
provider to 2V for all signs in the office.
JGU4321AB/PWD-BANANAS Updates a password.

Resetting the Sign-in Password

To unlock the password and reset it to the password initial value (usually
AMADEUS1), enter:

JGR7777LL.NCE1A0900/PWD

JGR Transaction code

7777LL Sign
.NCE1A0900 Dot, office ID
/PWD Slash, password reset attribute (non-displayable attribute)

This entry resets the password of sign 7777LL to AMADEUS1. The next time the
user of 7777LL signs in, he or she must use the password AMADEUS1, followed
by a slash and a new password (5 to 8 characters).
To reset the password, enter the new password after the password reset attribute
as follows:

JGU7777LL.NCE1A0900/PWD-BANANAS

Chapter 3
Maintaining Signs

Here we describe how to create and delete agent signs.

Creating Signs
The following users are authorised to maintain signs:
 Local Security Administrator of an office
 First-level help desk
 Service Management Centre
The transaction code to create a sign is JGA. For example:

JGA7777LL/DUTA-GS

JGA Transaction code

7777LL Sign
/DUT Slash, duty-code attribute
A Add indicator
-GS Dash, duty-code

This entry creates the sign, adds the duty code, and takes the default attributes
values for the office.
The following table explains other sign creation entries.

Table: Sign Creation Entries

Entry Description

JGA1234BB/DUTA-GS Creates sign 1234BB with duty code GS

to own office.
JGA1324BB.NCE1A0123/DUTA-SU Creates sign 1234BB with duty code SU
to the office NCE1A0123.
JGA1234BB.NCE1A0123/DUTA-AS/QCT-21 Creates sign 1234BB with duty code AS
to the office NCE1A0123, with queue
sortation category 21.

Copying Signs
You can create a sign and copy the attributes from another sign in one entry. This
can save time if you want to set up more than one sign with the same or similar
attribute values. You copy signs within the same office or from different offices.
The transaction code to copy a sign is JGC. For example:

JGC1234BB-5678AP

JGC Transaction code

1234BB Sign to copy attribute values from
5678AP Sign to create, with the attributes values of sign 1234BB

When the office ID is not specified in the entry, the system assumes your own
office ID by default.
The following table explains other sign copy and create entries you can use:

Table: Entries to Add a Sign and Copy Attributes to it

Entry Description

JGC1234BB-5678AP.NCE1A0123 Adds sign 5678AP in office NCE1A0123,

copying attribute values from sign 1234BB in
your own office.
JGC1234BB.NCE1A0900-5678AP Adds sign 5678AP in your own office,
copying attribute values from sign 1234BB in
office NCE1A0900.
JGC1234BB.NCE1A0900- Adds sign 5678AP to office NCE1A0123,
5678AP.NCE1A0123 copying attribute values from sign 1234BB in
office NCE1A0900

Notes: The system checks the office default table each time you create a sign
using the copy command. The office default table is described in Office
Default Table 20.
If the office default table for the office where you are creating the sign
does not allow an attribute value that is held in the sign you copy from
(for example, when the sign you copy from is in another office), the
create command will fail and you will get the error message
UNAUTHORISED AGENT RIGHTS (described in System Responses
41).
To copy from one office to another, there must be an Amadeus
Extended Ownership agreement in place (the LSM identifier in
Amadeus Extended Ownership).

Chapter 4
Office and Vendor Default Tables

Amadeus uses tables to define how the sign attributes are displayed to the end
user. These tables are arranged in the following hierarchical structure with the
values set in the higher tables being applied to the lower tables unless changed
in those tables by the Amadeus Security Administrator (ASA):
 Master Preference Table
First-level help desk staff cannot display or modify this table. It contains the
master default values that apply to all subsequent tables unless changed in
those tables by the ASA.
 Vendor Preference Table
The ASA creates a default table for each vendor code, called the Vendor
Preference Table. The values in this table will be taken from the Master
Preference Table unless changed by the ASA.
This table is used as the source to create the Office Default Table and the
Vendor Universal Sign Default Table for the vendor concerned.
 Office Default Table and Vendor Universal Sign Default Table
The default values for the sign attributes of each office and vendor code is
defined in the Office Default Table for an office, or in the Vendor Universal
Sign Default Table for universal signs.
The Local Security Administrator (LSA) can change the default values in both
of these tables if required so that they apply to newly created signs.

The following diagram shows the hierarchical structure and illustrate where the
office and vendor defaults come from.

 Attribute description

 Value

The display is similar to the agent profile display, but the access rights are
displayed.
The first letter in the column marked 3, indicates the maximum access, decided
by the Amadeus Security Administrator (ASA). The second letter is the access
set by the Local Security Administrator (LSA). The attributes that have B or R
access as the second letter (access set by the LSA) are displayed when the
agent makes the JGD entry. Attributes set to R (read access only) are marked
with an asterisk (*) on the agent’s JGD display to indicate that the user cannot
update them.
The ASA and the LSA both have the authority to set the level of access for each
attribute.
The levels of access are explained in the following table:

Code Level Explanation

N No Access The user can neither display the attribute nor update it.
R Read Only The user can display the attribute, but cannot update it.
B Read/Write The user can display the attribute, and can update its value.

The LSA can only grant a level of access to the agent that is the same as or more
restrictive than the level granted by the ASA. For example, if the level of access
granted by the ASA is N (no-access), then the level of access granted by the LSA
cannot be R (read only).

To update an attribute value that is marked with an asterisk (*), open a work order
and assign it to MHDORM.

Updating Attributes
The Local Security Administrator of an office, the first-level help desk and the
Service Management Centre are authorised to update attributes in an Office
Default Table. The transaction to update the table is JTU.
To update an attribute, enter, for example:

JTUNCE1A0902/PWR-Y/N

JTU Transaction code

NCE1A0903 Office ID
/PWR Slash, attribute
-Y Dash, value
/N Slash, access level

This entry updates the Office Default Table with the value Y for the Password
required indicator (PWR) and the access level None (neither read nor write).
New signs will take this as the default value for attribute PWR. Any agent in the
office who displays his or her own sign will not see the PWR attribute.
You can update several attributes at the same time. For example:

JTUNCE1A0902/PWR-Y/N/TCM-24/B/DIS-K/R
If you do not want to change the access level for the attribute, you must enter two
slashes (//) after the attribute value. For example:

JTUNCE1A0902/PWR-Y//TCM-24//DIS-K/R
The following table explains other entries to display, update and reset the Office
Default Table.

Chapter 5
Sign-in and Sign-out for Help Desks

HE SIGN IN
In order to access the distribution system, an agent must sign in using a ‘sign’.
This may be a unique sign which provides the means of identifying actions taken
by an individual, or a common sign used by several agents within the same office.
In addition, agents may be required to enter a password.
Associated with each sign are duty codes that determine the types of transactions
an agent can perform. This is required for the applications that are duty code
dependent. An agent may have one sign with multiple duty codes.
The following additional sign-in features are available to help desks for signs in
their market to perform troubleshooting:
 Extended sign-in, as described in Extended Sign-in 29.
 Remote office access, as described in Remote Office Access 30.
 Remote sign-out from a different terminal, as described in Remote Sign-out
from a Different Terminal 33.

Basic Sign-in Entries
The following table describes the basic sign-in entries available to all agents.

Table: Basic Sign-in Entries

Entry Description

JI1234AB/GS The entry is made up of the sign-in transaction code (JI) , the
agent sign, a slash, and the optional duty code.
Duty codes are as follows:
AS Travel Agent
CE Customer Engineer
GS General Sales Agent
PD Pre/Post Departure Agent
PR Programmer
RC Space Control
SU Supervisor
TR Teletype Reject Agent
In all sign-in entries, the duty code is optional unless the sign
has been defined with several duty codes.
JIA1234AB/GS Sign in to a specific area (in this example, area A)
Six assembly areas, A, B, C, D, E and F, are associated with
each terminal. This allows a terminal to be shared by as many
as six agents, each agent being signed into his own area. If the
terminal is assigned to only one agent, that agent can use all
six areas if necessary.
JIA/B/C1234AB/GS Sign-in to multiple areas.
JXC Open another area without re-entering the sign and duty code
JS De-activate (suspend) a work area
JMB Move between work areas
JMXY Move to the work area where the alpha sign XY is signed in
JD Display status of work areas
JO Sign out
JO* Sign out of all active work areas

Extended Sign-in
When you make an extended sign-in, the system associates your terminal to
another office and you have access to the other office's PNR, queue and other
data, but your terminal definitions remain unchanged. This functionality is
available to help desks only.
In particular, this means especially that your user group is not changed, but
remains a help desk user group after the extended sign-in. Keep this in mind
when you try to recreate a problem, since you will not necessarily get the same
reply as the agent does.
Extended sign-in is useful for the following tasks:
 Troubleshooting an agent’s problem
 Creating signs for another office without having to specify the office ID each
time
To perform an extended sign-in to another office, enter:

JIA1234AB/SU.PARHS2234

JI Sign-in transaction code

A Area (optional)
1234AB Agent sign
/SU Slash, your duty code
.PARHS2234 Dot, the office ID you want to sign in to

When you perform an extended sign-in, the system automatically signs you out of
all work areas that you were working in.
To sign out when in extended sign-in, enter:

Remote Office Access

You can make a remote office sign-in to emulate a terminal in another office. You
assume all the office profile settings of the remote office, and can access PNRs,
queues and other functions that belong to the remote office. Therefore, you can
work with the exact environment of the travel agent.
You do not, however, assume the Amadeus Extended Ownership agreements of
the remote office, but keep those of your own office. You can display Amadeus
Extended Ownership agreements of the remote office but you cannot update
them.
The remote office access does not change the WGR set type of the terminal by
default. (The WGR set type is called the AAA TYPE on the OU display of the
terminal.) However, if you wish you can add the W option to your sign-in entry
and emulate the WGR set type of the target terminal.
There are two ways to make a remote office sign-in:
 Remote office jump (JUM entry), described in Remote Office Jump 31.
 Remote office log-on (JUI entry), described in Remote Office Log-on 32.

Remote Office Access for End Users

Remote office access is available to end-users, provided that the following
security is defined:
 There is an Amadeus Extended Ownership agreement in place on the RMO
identifier.
 The agent sign used to sign in to the remote office has the RMO attribute in
Local Security set to Yes.

Agent Sign for Remote Office

When working in remote office mode you sign in using an agent sign belonging to
the remote office. You can optionally specify an agent sign in your entry. If you do
not specify a sign, the system signs you in with the default sign 0001AA/SU. The
system applies the sign attributes of the target sign.
The target sign in the remote office must be available for use in remote office
mode. For this, the local security attribute RMO must be set to Yes.
If the agent sign requires a password (attribute PWR is Yes), you must enter the
password when you sign in and when you sign out.
When in remote office access you can only perform a limited number of ticketing
entries. The RMT (ticketing in remote office) attribute of the target sign must be
set to Yes, and you can only make the TTP, PQ and TZ entries.

Terminal ID of the Remote Office

When you are in remote office access, you emulate the characteristics of a
terminal in the remote office. You can optionally specify a terminal ID in your sign-
in entry. If you do not, the system emulates by default the characteristics of the
virtual terminal ID assigned to the office.
You can display the list of terminals assigned to the remote office with the JVD
entry followed by the office ID. For example:

Remote Office Jump

The remote office jump is the quickest way to sign in. It allows you to jump from
your own office to a remote office in one single entry, without first signing out of
your current session.
Note: You cannot use a universal sign with the remote office jump.
When you make the entry, the system performs the following steps at the same
time:
 It automatically signs you out of your current office (JO), or if you are working
in a remote office, it signs you out of the remote office (JUO).
 It enters the new office in remote office mode (JUI) and signs you in.
To perform the JUM entry, you must be signed in and not have an active PNR in
any of your areas. Your original sign (prior to entering a remote office) is kept in
the AAA throughout the remote office sessions. You specify the office ID of the
remote office or the terminal ATID you want to emulate. If you specify an office
but no terminal ATID, the system automatically defaults to the virtual terminal of
the office.
When you end a remote office jump session, the system returns you to your own
sign and working areas as you left them.
To make a remote office jump:
4. Perform the remote office jump entry. Here are some variations of the entry
you can make:

JUM/O-NCE1A0902,W Specify the office ID, emulate the virtual

terminal and use the generic sign.
If the generic sign does not exist, the
system asks you to enter a sign (of the
target office).
JUM/T-090A2936,W Specify the terminal ID and use the
generic sign
JUM/O-NCE1A0902/1234AB/SU,W Specify the office ID, emulate the virtual
or: terminal, and use a specific sign
JUM/O-NCE1A0902,W /1234AB/SU

5. Sign out from remote office mode:

JUO

Local Security Help Desk Module

If your sign requires a password the system prompts you for it to sign you
back into your own office.

Here is an example system response after a successful remote office access

entry:
---------------------------------------------------------------
A-SIGN COMPLETE/05AUG/SU
BRUXY0990-09021012 IN REMOTE OFFICE MODE OF AMSXY1200-09ABC123
---------------------------------------------------------------

There is no limit to the amount of remote office jump entries you can make. For
example, when you are signed into your default office (OFFICE 1), you can
envisage the following scenario:
1. Enter: JUM/O-OFFICE2
2. Enter: JUM/O-OFFICE3
3. Enter: JUM/O-OFFICE4
To sign out, enter: JUO. The system returns you to your default office
(OFFICE 1).

Remote Office Log-on

Remote office log-on is the longer of the two ways to enter remote office access.
You can, however, use a universal sign if you wish.
To make a remote office log-on:
1. Sign out of all work areas of your current session:

JO or JO*
If you are already in remote office access in another office, log off from the
remote office (JUO).
2. Perform the remote office log-on entry and specify the office or terminal ID:

JUI/O-NCE1A0902,W Specify the office ID, emulate the virtual

terminal of the office.
JUI/T-090A2936,W Specify a specific terminal of the office.
3. Sign in using a sign of the target office (JI) or a universal sign (JIU):

JI0001AA/SU

JI1234AB/SU

JIU2400CA/SU
Alternatively, you can perform steps 2 and 3 together, using the entry:

JUI/O-NCE1A0902,w/JI1234AB/SU
Note: You cannot make the above entry with a universal sign.
4. Sign out of the emulated office:

JO or JO*
The system takes you to the JD display of your default office.
5. Sign out of remote office mode:

Remote Sign-out from a Different Terminal

Help desks can perform a remote sign out on behalf of an agent who wants to
sign in to a terminal, but has forgotten to sign out of another terminal and is
therefore prevented from signing in. This feature is also useful for help desks
when there are problems with the target sign.
Note: For remote sign-out to work, the local security attribute RSO (remote
sign out) of the target sign must be set to Yes.
To help the agent:
1. Do a remote sign-in:

JUM/O-NCE1A098R
2. Perform the remote sign-out entry:

JUR0011JJ/AMADEUS1/T-09B113A5

JUR Transaction code

0011JJ Agent’s sign
/AMADEUS1 Slash (/), password initial value of the office default table.
This is normally AMADEUS1. However, if the password initial
value has been reset to a different value from AMADEUS1, that
it must be entered instead.

/T Slash (/), terminal identifier T

-09B113A5 Dash (-), the terminal address

You must include the terminal ATID in the entry only if the local
security indicator MUL (multiple signs allowed) is set to Yes in
your agent profile.

Note: If the system displays the message CHECK PASSWORD INIT VALUE,
the password initial value has been changed in the office default table,
and is no longer AMADEUS1. If so, you must reset the password and
make the entry again. See Resetting the Sign-in Password 13 for how
to reset a password to the default Amadeus1 or to a specific value.

Chapter 6
Universal Signs

A universal sign is a sign that allows a user to sign into any office of a given
vendor code from a terminal in an office. Universal signs are used by help desk
agents for on-site support. You can also make the remote office log-on entry
using a universal sign, as described in Remote Office Log-on 32.
To sign in to an office using a universal sign, enter the transaction code JIU
followed by the sign and duty code. For example:

JIU2244AB/SU
First-level help desks can display, create and delete universal signs for their
vendor code.

OFFICE ID IS NOT YOUR RESPONSIBILITY

This response is generated when a help desk agent tries to display or update
data for an office that does not have the same vendor code as the help desk
office ID.
The following are the help desk entries that are secured by vendor code:
 Extended sign-in
 Monitor a AAA (OULNIATA)
 Sign bank display of another office (JCDOFFICE)
 Display of terminals attached to another office (JVDOFFICE)
 Queue counts of another office (QCT/OFFICE or QCM/OFFICE or
QCD/OFFICE)
If you need access to another office's data, check with the Order Management
Security group in Nice whether the vendor code of the targeted office can be
inserted in the AVC (multi-vendors) field of your office profile.
