Computer Software
Software is a collection of instructions that enable the user to interact with a computer, it’s hardware, or
perform tasks. Without software, most computers would be useless.
Three Types of Computer Software
1. Systems Software or Operating system is the software used by the computer to translate inputs from
various sources into a language which a machine can understand. It coordinates the different hardware
components of a computer. Example is the Microsoft.
2. Programming Software is a kind of computer software which is used exclusively by computer
programmers.
3. Application Software is used to interact with a computer. Popular examples of application software are
the Microsoft Office suite which includes Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Applications we use to connect to
the internet are internet
