You have noticed that one of your teammates has experienced a sharp

decline in performance. What advice would you give him/her to help him/her
regain his/her performance?

Personal Reflection/Team Collaboration

fisrtly, this phenomenon is sometimes happens to each body, specifically

after the difficult times like after midterm exams or any strong competitions.
this essay seeks to reveal the three advices that i will give to my friend if he
is

exhausted or tired.

firstly, if my friend is just compressed from any thing, like, he is just sad from
a teatcher, other friend or his parents, i will actually recommenf that he has
to take some of time to

talk with them or some time to make some tries to refix the relations
between him and them. and anybody has always to make a strong relations
between his relevants.

secondally, if my friend is sad from a big thing this time, like getting bad
marks in journal, midterm exams or even he is not happy with his previous
term grades (that will make him

unhappy and have a decline in his performance at the fisrt of the seciond
term), i will recommend him to study more concenterated and take some
courses in subjects that he is bad in, also

I will tell him to take the midterm grades eaasy. because mid term exams
have only 3% of the whole degree. and also i will suggest that he can take
academic writing courses

to improve his writing skills to get high grades in the next journals. I donot
think that any person get high grades in the journal will have and declines in
his performance

thirdly, if my friend is sad from any other thing that I donot know, and he
doesnot want to tell me, in case it is very personal thing, i will suggest him to
go to the
capstone teacher to talk with him for some time, and get rid of all his internal
sadnesses. And i will tell him to beleive that God wants him always to be
happy.

Last but not least, if my friend has no internal sadnesses that will reflct by
postive on his performance and he will recover his activity.

According to the EDP process, you are supposed to be in the stage of

constructing your prototype which is the most important stage. Explain two
prototyping steps you made.

Using the Engineering Design Process (EDP)

at the outset, we are very comperesd this period of time beacaus we had the
midterm exams last week and this week we have journal exam, however we
expected this compression to

happen anytime. so we bought the materials and made some steps of

constructing before all these. this essay seeks to reveal three steps we had
made in our prototype.

firstly, our project is about H-type Darrius VWAT(vertical axis wind turbine).
thus, we went to the carpenter to tell him to get us three woods with height
20 cm, and we got a main steel columun of height 80cm to but in the middle,
and then we used the super glue to

link the three wood parts to the main column horrizontally with heigt 65cm
from the ground.

secondally, we went to the fablarication laboratory to use the 3D printer to

print the three blades with type NACA 0021 (a type of blades), then we also
got the super

glue to link the three blades with the three horrizontal wood parts that are
65cm height from the ground.

thirdly, and we wanted to be unique from other teams, so we got a research

paper about making fixed
guiding walls around the VWAT to increase the power coofficient to 177%
according to (H-type Darrius VWAT with fixed guiding walls-2023 research
paper). we got four wooden

parts with height 70cm from the geound from the carpenter. then we also got
three smooth flat surfaces to place them above a circle that is above the four
columns of wood

then, there is also a circle above the three surface to cover the surfaces from
above. then we make the surfacs with angle 8 degrees with the horrizontal
axis to get the

air more powerfull to the blades.

In (CH.1.09), You have studied the physical properties of different elements.

Explain four physical properties of the materials you use in constructing your
prototype and why these properties are suitable for your project.

Learning Transfer

To commence we chose our material acoording to its chemical and phisical

properties. This essay will reveal four of them.

firstly, we bulid the main columns in our H-type darruis vertical axis wind
turbine by stanless stell, that is becaus it has high melting piont that will
make it

stay durable without any any melting, that is also main, because the main
column will be put into high depth in the ground that make the temperature
high, and with long

periods it can melt. but we avoid this by stanless steel.

secondally, we used the three parts of the horrizontal linkers between the
blades and the main axis from wood, because we need a material that has
light wighet that is

light in its weight to avoid the loss in the kinatic energy while the turbine is
spinning.
thirdly, we needed to put a base under the main cloumn that holds the three
blades. this base must have an elasticity that is very high to withstand the
high pressure

on the main columns. we used the mild steel in shape like a pyramid base to
avoid this prolem.

lately, we used the three blased with plastic, becuase plastic has low denisty
that makes the three blades able to penterate the wind easily and powerfully.
Firstly, STEM school has taught us a lot of useful characteristics. It taught
us over than two characteristics, like cooperation, scientific research, team
working, leadership skills and problem solving. The most important two
things are scientific research and team working. And that is what I will
discuss in this answer.

Scientific research is an essential thing. It improves our minds and makes

them more active to solve Egypts grand challenges. It helps us to imagine
and create unexpected solutions. For example: last week I faced a problem in
my online physics test. Then I opened a reference called Serawy. I searched
for it for about twenty minutes, and finally, I found a law that solved my
problem easily. Then I loved scientific research more and more.

Furthermore, team working is an unusually good thing. In STEM school,

we can not study individually. We always help each other in studying. For
instance, yesterday, my friend faced a problem in his Social studies
homework. He asked the teacher and the teacher was busy with his work. He
was setting tests for grade eleven and twelve. Therefore, he asked me to
help him. I helped him quickly. Then he thanked me.

Last but not least, STEM school taught us new characteristics every day. I
am looking forward to learning new characteristics as soon as possible. And
that is what I like most in STEM school.

To begin with, In our capstone project this year, we have many problems
to solve. And we need to use a scientific method to do that. Thus, we have
learned the EDP method. We searched for the first two steps in it for now.
And that is what I will discuss in this answer.

The first step is defining the problem. We have three problems to define.
We defined all problems. For example: urban congestion. We defined this
problem as there are invalid areas that we can not live in, population growth.
We defined this problem as our population in Egypt is increasing non-stop.
Arid areas. We defined that problem as these areas do not contain water. And
then we started to search for prior solutions.

On top of that, my team and I searched for many prior solutions. For
instance: Harbour bridge. This bridge is located in sydney-Australia. This
bridge was built in 1832. This bridge was built in a parker truss structure.
