3. Physics
Physics explores the laws of nature and reality - from quantum particles to astrophysics. A strong
math foundation is critical.
3.1 Academic Physics Research
Focus: Theoretical physics, quantum mechanics, cosmology, particle physics.
- Top Universities: MIT, Caltech, Hebrew University, Weizmann, Cambridge
- SAT: 1500+ (with 800 Math Level 2 + Physics Subject); Psychometric 740+
- Requires MSc and often PhD. Strong math emphasis (group theory, differential geometry).
3.2 Applied / Experimental Physics
Focus: Labs, materials science, photonics, electronics, quantum tech.
- Universities: Technion, Stanford, UC Berkeley, EPFL
- Pair with engineering fields for quantum computing, optics, nanotech roles.
4. Mathematics
Mathematics is foundational in logic, computation, statistics, cryptography, and modeling physical
systems.
4.1 Pure Mathematics Research
