CPU (Central
Processing Unit)
CPU is another name for the microsprocessor at
the centre of your computer system. It controls
all activities and processes instructions. It has
three main parts: Control Unit (CU), Arithmetic
Logic Unit (ALU), and Registers.

Arithmetic Logic
Unit (ALU)
The ALU performs arithmetic
operations such as addition and
subtraction, and logical comparisons
such as greater than or equal to.

Control Unit (CU)

The Control Unit manages and directs the
flow of data inside the CPU. It tells the
computer’s parts what to do, like fetching
instructions, decoding them, and sending
signals to other components.

Registers
A very fast pieces of memory inside the
CPU. They temporarily hold data,
instructions, or addresses that the CPU
is currently working on.

How to
improve?
A faster CPU can process instructions
more quickly, which makes the
computer run faster and handle more
tasks at the same time.
