Significance of notarized document = it enjoys the presumption of authenticity and regularity of


the document.

Demand Letter
-​ A demand is a formal letter demanding the receiver to comply with the latter’s
obligations.
-​ A document prior to the commencement of an action.
-​ Article 1169 NCC - demand is necessary before a delay is incurred.
-​ May be oral or written.
-​ Written demand can be the best evidence.
-​ Oral demand can be easily denied.

Example: BP 22
-​ Demand is not mandatory, only notice the check is dishonored.
-​ But it can be reliable evidence that the offender was notified.
