Example interview between two pupils.
1. Do you have any idea what you want to study after graduating middle school?
- Yes! I have had the same dream of becoming a vet ever since I was little. Because
of this, I already know that I will have to study veterinary medicine. This study is
offered in Utrecht and it has only limited spots which makes it a bit stressful. If
that isn’t possible, I think I want to do something with biology.
1.1 That sounds difficult, what does that mean for your current studies?
- It means I have to do my best in school, but also that I have to do extra things
outside of school such as volunteering at an animal shelter. It also means I will
have to choose subjects that include biology, science and physics.
2. What would be the ideal day for future you?
- The ideal day would be a day where I wake up early feeling energized. I wake up in
my own house which I own with my partner and three dogs. I prepare breakfast
and go to my job at my own animal clinic. After work I come home and make
dinner.
2.2 That sounds wonderful! Where do you think this house will be?
- I think it will be in The Netherlands. I don’t want to move outside of the country,
but I am unsure what city it will be. Maybe Rotterdam.
2.3 What kind of location would you like to live?
- Preferably somewhere close to the city center, but not inside the city itself. I don’t
like how busy it becomes in the city. If possible, I would like to live pretty close to
either a forest or the beach too. I enjoy walking there, so it would be nice if I
don’t have to travel too long.
3. What would be your biggest dream for future you?
- My biggest dream would be to travel loads and be healthy. I am trying to achieve
this already by eating well and moving enough. The travel part is something I
want to do when I am older because I want to see parts of the world that are far
away and my family prefers to travel to countries closer to home.
3.1 What country is your number 1 dream destination?
- For me that is definitely Japan! I have seen loads of videos and everything I see is
breathtaking. I want to go there for about four weeks because then I have time to
see both nature and culture rather than rushing through everything.
