1. Find the quotient and remainder when 𝑓(𝑥) = 4𝑥 3 − 3𝑥 2 + 2𝑥 + 1 is divided by (𝑥 − 2).

2. Find 𝑎, 𝑏, 𝑐, 𝑑:

𝑎𝑥 3 + 𝑏𝑥 2 + 𝑐𝑥 + 𝑑 = (4𝑥 + 1)(2𝑥 − 1)(3𝑥 + 2)

3. When 𝑥 2 − 𝑎𝑥 + 2 is divided by 𝑥 − 2, the remainder is ‘a’. Find ‘a’

4. 𝑓(𝑥) = 3𝑥 3 − 𝑘𝑥 2 + 5𝑥 + 2 is divisible by 2𝑥 − 1. Find ‘k’.

5. Show that 𝑥 + 1 is a factor of 𝑓(𝑥) = 2𝑥 3 − 𝑥 2 − 5𝑥 − 2. Hence factorize completely.

6. Factorize 𝑥 3 − 2𝑥 2 − 5𝑥 + 6 completely.

7. 4𝑥 3 + 𝑎𝑥 2 + 𝑏𝑥 + 3 is divisible by 𝑥 + 3 but leaves a remainder of -12 when divided by


𝑥 − 1. Find ‘a’ and ‘b’.
