1) Why do some lizards break away their tails?
Ans: Some lizards break away their tails to escape from enemies. The detached tail keeps
moving and distracts the enemies, which gives the lizard time to run away and save its
life.

Ans: The different modes of movements in animals include walk, run, fly, crawl,
slither, swim, jump, hop, etc.
2. What do you mean by Scavengers?
Ans: Animals that feed on dead animals are called scavengers.

3. What are the different uses of tails in animals?
Ans: Animals use their tails for communication, balance, locomotion, defence,
grasping, to express emotions, etc.
4. What are the five classifications of animals based on size? Give examples.
Ans: 1) Very big animals – Eg: Blue whale, Elephant
2) Big animals – Eg: Cow, Lion
3) Small animals – Eg: Cat, Dog
