Tell us about where you live
=> I live in Ho Chi Minh City. It’s a big and busy city, but I like it because it has everything I need.
Do you live in a house or an apartment?
=> I live in an apartment because it’s easier to manage and closer to my school.
How long have you lived in your house or apartment?
=> I have lived there for about five years. My family moved here when I started high school.
Who do you live with?
=> I live with my parents and my younger brother. We often eat and watch movies together.
What’s your favourite room where you live?
=> My favorite room is my bedroom because it’s quiet and I can relax or read books there.
Is there anything you don’t like about where you live?
=> Yes, the apartment is a bit small and sometimes the neighbors are noisy at night.
What kind of place do you think you will live in in the future?
=> In the future, I would like to live in a house with a garden because I love nature and fresh air.
Would you prefer to live in the city or the countryside?
=> I prefer living in the countryside because it’s peaceful, and the air is cleaner than in the city.
Do you have a garden?
=> No, I don’t have a garden now, but I really want to grow flowers and vegetables in the future.
Do you live on your own?
=> No, I live with my family because it feels safer and more fun than living alone.
Is it better to live on your own or with other people?
=> I think living with others is better because you can share things and never feel lonely.
Which room do you spend most time in when you’re at home?
=> I spend most of my time in my bedroom because I study, relax, and sleep there.
Have you ever moved house?
=> No, I haven’t moved house since I came to the city. I’ve been living in the same apartment
the whole time.
HOBBIES AND INTERESTS

=> I enjoy reading books and listening to music b/c they help me relax and learn new things.
Have you got any hobbies?
=> Yes, I love traveling and exploring new things. I also enjoy learning about different cultures.
Are there any hobbies you used to have that you don’t do anymore?
=> I used to play badminton and go swimming, but I stopped because I didn’t have enough time.
Is there a hobby you would like to start?
=> Yes, I want to try photography because I love capturing special moments. I’d also like to learn
how to cook new dishes.
What do you like to do at the weekend?
=> On weekends, I usually hang out with my friends to relax. Sometimes, I stay at home and
watch movies or read books.
What do you like to do to relax?
=> I like listening to calm music and watching funny videos. Sometimes, I just take a short nap to
feel better.
Do you like doing activities alone or with other people?
=> It depends. I enjoy reading or drawing alone, but I prefer doing sports or traveling with
friends because it’s more fun.
How often do you do exercise?
=> I try to exercise about five times a week. Also, I walk every day to stay healthy.
What are the most popular hobbies in your country?
=> In my country, people enjoy playing football and watching TV. Many also like using social
media to connect with others.
Do any of your friends have an interesting hobby?
=> Yes, one of my friends loves collecting old coins, another enjoys making handmade gifts.
What do you do when you get home from your studies or work?
=> When I get home, I usually take a short rest and listen to music. Then, I check my phone or
watch something online.
Are there any hobbies you wouldn’t like to do?
=> Yes, I wouldn’t like hiking because it’s too scary and fishing is a bit boring for me.
CELEBRATIONS
Tell us about celebrations in your life.
=> I celebrate birthdays with my family every year, and I also enjoy Tet holiday because it’s full
of joy and tradition.
Do you like going to parties?
=> Yes, I love parties because I can meet friends, eat good food, and have fun.
When was the last party you went to?
=> It was last month—it was my bestfriend’s birthday party. We played games, ate cake, and
took lots of photos.
What kind of things do people celebrate in your country?
=> People celebrate birthdays, weddings, and especially Tet. We also have school graduations
and housewarmings.
Have you been to a wedding?
=> Yes, I’ve been to a few weddings. I love the music,food, and watching the couple’s first dance.
What do you like to do at parties?
=> I enjoy talking with friends, trying different food, and taking photos to keep memories.
What was your favourite party game as a child?
=> I loved playing musical chairs and hide and seek. They were always fun and exciting.
How often do you go to a party?
=> Not very often, maybe once every two months. I go when there’s a birthday or special
occasion.
Do you like to dance when you’re at a party?
=> Yes, if the music is good, I love dancing with my friends. It makes the party more fun.
What’s the best food to serve at a celebration?
=> I think spring rolls, hot pot, and traditional Vietnamese cakes are the best. They’re delicious,
easy to share, and make everyone feel at home.
Have you had a party in your house?
=> Yes, I’ve had birthday parties at home. We decorated the house, played games, and everyone
had a good time.
Which famous person would you most like to invite to a party?
=> I’d love to invite Ariana Grande because she’s fun and talented. I think she’d bring great
energy to the party.
TRAVEL
Do you like to travel?
=> Yes, I love traveling because I can relax and explore new places. It also helps me learn more
about different cultures.
Have you ever lived in another country?
=> No, I haven’t, but I would love to experience it in the future. Living abroad must be exciting
and full of new experiences.
What do you like to do on holiday?
=> I like trying local food and visiting famous places. I also enjoy taking lots of photos to keep
the memories.
Do you prefer lying on the beach or sightseeing?
=> I prefer sightseeing because I love discovering new things. But sometimes, lying on the beach
is nice for relaxing.
Which country would you most like to visit?
=> I really want to visit Japan because of its unique culture and delicious food. I’d also love to
see the cherry blossoms.
Do you have many tourists where you live?
=> Yes, my city is quite popular with tourists because of its local food and beautiful landscapes.
What’s the most interesting place you’ve ever visited?
=> Da Nang was amazing. It had beaches, mountains, and great food. I also loved the peaceful
vibe there.
Do you like to buy souvenirs?
=> Yes, I always buy small things like keychains or postcards. They remind me of the trip and
make great gifts.
Are you going on holiday this year?
=> Yes, I’m planning a short trip with my family. We want to relax and spend time together.
Do you like to travel on your own?
=> Sometimes, I enjoy it because I can go anywhere I want. But I usually prefer traveling with
friends for more fun.
What’s your favourite way of travelling?
=> I enjoy traveling by motorbike because it gives me more freedom and I can enjoy the scenery
along the way. It’s also more flexible and fun, especially on short trips.
STUDYING
Tell us about studying.
=> tudying helps me gain new knowledge and improve my skills. Sometimes it’s hard, but it’s
important for my future.
Do you enjoy studying English?
=> Yes, I enjoy it because English helps me connect with the world. Also, it gives me more job
opportunities.
Have you got a favourite room to study in at home?
=> Yes, I like studying in my bedroom because it’s quiet. I also feel more focused when I study
there.
What time of day is your best time for studying?
=> I study best in the evening when everything is quiet. Sometimes, early morning is also a good
time for me.
Do you like to study online?
=> Yes, I like studying online because it’s flexible. I can learn anytime and anywhere.
What are the advantages and disadvantages of studying online?
=> The advantage is convenience and saving time. But the disadvantage is it’s easy to lose focus
or get distracted.
What do you find most difficult about studying?
=> I find it hard to concentrate for a long time. Also, sometimes I don’t understand new lessons
right away.
How often do you study English every week?
=> I try to study English 4 to 5 times a week. Even just 30 minutes a day helps me improve.
Have you studied English in a class?
=> Yes, I studied English in school and also joined a language center. Learning with a teacher
helped me a lot.
Have you tried studying with other people?
=> Yes, I have. Studying with friends is fun and we can help each other understand better.
Do you prefer studying alone or with other people?
=> It depends. I like studying alone when I need to focus, but group study is great for discussion
and sharing ideas.
Which area of English do you find most difficult?
=> I find listening the hardest because people speak too fast. Writing is also tricky with grammar
and structure.
Is the internet always useful for studying?
=> Mostly yes, because it gives quick access to information. However, sometimes it’s distracting
with too much content.
Is there a subject you would like to study?
=> Yes, I’d love to study graphic design because I enjoy being creative. I’m also interested in
psychology to understand people better.
