 What excites you most about the work you’ll be doing this semester?
 Are there any parts of the syllabus or assignments that feel a little overwhelming or
challenging right now?
 How do you think these assignments and lesson planning will help you grow as a future
teacher?
 What’s one thing you’re hoping to learn or accomplish by the end of this course?
 Do you have any ideas about how you’ll stay organized and stay on track with
everything?

After I reviewed everything, from the syllabus to the ENMU TEP Lesson Plan Template. I
am both excited, but I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t a bit overwhelmed about everything ahead, but
that’s to be expected. Although the course itself sets high expectations, it is expected as it feels
like a very meaningful step towards preparing me not only for student teaching, but a career in
the classroom.
The main thing that excites me the most is the opportunity to create lessons and unit plans
that tend to be connected to real life teaching practices. The emphasis about using the ENMU
TEP Lesson Plan Template gives clear/explicit instructions for designing the lesson, and I am
excited to view how my lessons will develop over the semester. The field experience that is apart
from this course is a component that is very motivating, I understand that teaching actual lessons
in the classroom setting will push me out of my comfort zone, but it will give me very valuable
feedback that I can’t get from theory alone.
At the same time, the portfolio assignments and the unit plan as a current thought feel a bit
overwhelming. The rest assignments, like the comprehensive seven-day unit plan, along with the
two lesson plans, the assignment plan, classroom mapping, feel like a lot to manage, especially
with the observation hours. But I know that these assignments are necessary for my career and
are designed to build upon one another. In the long run, they will provide me with amazingly
strong evidence for my licensure portfolio.
I am really excited for the assignments in this course, and I hope they will help me grow as a
student and a teacher that will allow me to build my ability to plan intentionally. When I focus on
differentiation in lessons, accommodations for students, and staying culturally responsive I will
help myself prepare for the reality of teaching various different groups of students. But because I
am practicing now, I will be able to enter student teaching with more confidence and a clearer
understanding of how to meet the needs of my students.
A personal goal that I have for this course is to strengthen my confidence in designing
effective assessments. I will admit that I do sometimes struggle to connect assessments to
objectives directly. And I hope that this course will help me become better at aligning my goals,
lessons, and evaluation.
To allow myself to stay organized, I will plan to use a planner that will break down my major
assignments into several smaller steps, especially for critical assignments like the portfolio
projects. I will make sure I check Canva regularly and create a check list that will help me make
sure I thoroughly understand the assignments and do not follow behind. I plan to approach the
assignments in pieces; with this I really hope that I can succeed and continue to stay on track and
give my best efforts to each and every assignment.
