Role /Designation – Protection/Power System Engineer- Electrical
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Protection/Power System Engineer to design,
analyze, and optimize power system networks using industry-leading software tools like ETAP,
PSCAD, Digsilent PowerFactory, and PSS/E.
The role involves conducting power system studies such as load flow, short circuit, relay
coordination, transient stability analysis, and grid impact assessments to ensure the reliability,
efficiency, and safety of electrical networks. The ideal candidate should have a strong
understanding of power system modelling, protection schemes, and regulatory compliance
standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Electrical System Design
• Perform power system studies including load flow, short circuit, transient stability, and arc
flash analysis using software like ETAP, PSCAD, Digsilent PowerFactory, and PSS/E.
• Conduct relay coordination and protection settings for transmission and distribution
networks.
• Model and analyze renewable energy integration, grid interconnections, and power plant
performance.
• Evaluate transient and dynamic stability of power systems under various operating
conditions.
• Perform harmonic analysis, power quality studies, and fault ride-through assessments.
• Develop and optimize protection schemes for substations, transmission lines, and
industrial power systems.
• Ensure compliance with grid codes, IEEE, IEC, CEA, and other relevant industry
standards.
• Conducting Protection Audits for the transmission and distribution facilities.
• Prepare detailed technical reports, simulation results, and recommendations.
Skills and Qualifications:
• Education: Bachelor's/Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering (Power Systems) or
related field. (PHD in power system is a plus)
• Experience: 4 years in power system analysis, protection studies, or grid studies.
• Software Proficiency: Strong expertise in ETAP and one of the following; PSCAD,
Digsilent PowerFactory or PSS/E
