BITTER BITE

- Scene 1 – Outside the Restaurant

Alson: Hey, so… what do you feel like eating today?

Froz: I don’t know, but I heard this restaurant just launched a new dish on their menu.

Alson: Oh yeah? What dish?

Froz: I’m not sure, but I heard it’s really appetizing. Should we check it out?

Alson: Sure, why not. Let’s go.

(They enter the restaurant.)

- Scene 2 – Inside the Restaurant

Eugenie: (smiling) Greetings! Welcome to Eugenie’s Kitchen! Table for two?

Alson: Yes, please.

Eugenie: Great, have a seat! I’ll bring you the menu.

(Eugenie hands them menus and walks back to the counter.)

Alson: (looking at the menu) Oh, here’s the new dish, Spicy Lemon Herb Pasta.

Froz: That’s the one I heard about! Let’s try it out!

Alson: Sounds good. I’ll get that too.

(They call Eugenie over.)

Eugenie: Ready to order?

Froz: Yup, two Spicy Lemon Herb Pasta, please.

Eugenie: Alright, coming right up!

- Scene 3 – Kitchen / Dining Area

(Eugenie starts cooking. Froz subtly slips a small vial from his pocket, looking around to make sure
no one’s watching.)

Froz: (to himself, quietly) Let’s see how perfect you really are, Alson.

(Eugenie serves the pasta. Froz pretends to sprinkle parmesan on Alson’s plate but actually pours
the contents of the vial.)

Eugenie: (reads the order list) Spicy Lemon Herb Pasta for two, enjoy!

Alson: (smiling) Thanks!

(They start eating. After a few bites, Alson starts coughing.)

Alson: (coughing) Ugh… my throat feels… strange…

Eugenie: (noticing) Sir, are you okay?

Alson: I… I can’t… breathe properly…

(Alson collapses onto the table. Froz jumps up, acting shocked.)

Froz: (gasp) What’s happening to him?!

Eugenie: (panicked) Hold on, I’ll call Hazel, the pharmacist next door!

- Scene 4 – Emergency Help

(Hazel rushes in with a small medical kit.)

Hazel: Step back, give him some space.

(Hazel checks Alson’s pulse, gives him a neutralizing antidote, and helps him breathe.)

Hazel: Alson, can you hear me?

Alson: (weakly) Yeah… what… happened?

Eugenie: I don’t know! I cooked the pasta just like I always do.

Hazel: Unfortunately, this isn’t food poisoning from improper cooking. It feels more like… an
intentional toxin.

(Froz pretends to look shocked.)

Froz: That’s impossible… Who would do such a thing?

- Scene 5 – The Puzzle Unfolds

Alson: (thinking) Wait… before I collapsed, I tasted something bitter… but only in my plate.

Hazel: Bitter? What kind of bitter? Herbal, chemical?

Alson: Chemical. And Froz… you were the only one who touched my plate after it was served.

(Froz freezes for a second, then forces a laugh.)

Froz: That’s… ridiculous. Why would I—

Eugenie: (frowns and cuts off Froz’s sentence) Actually, I did see you leaning over his plate for a bit
longer than normal.

Hazel: Froz… do you have anything to say?

(Froz sighs and looks down.)

Froz: …Fine. Yes, it was me. I’m sorry. I… I’ve always been jealous of Alson. Everything seems to
go right for him—his job, his friends. I just… snapped.
- Scene 6 – Resolution

Alson: (weak but calm) You could’ve just talked to me, you know.

Eugenie: This could have ended so much worse.

Hazel: You’re lucky I got here in time.

Froz: I know… I regret it already. I’m sorry, Alson.

Alson: (pauses, then nods) I forgive you. But you need to get help for whatever you’re dealing with.

Eugenie: And I’m definitely installing cameras in here from now on.

(They all share a small, tense laugh. The atmosphere slowly lightens.)

Hazel: Alright, I’ll stay for a while to make sure he’s stable. But… maybe next time, stick to
desserts.

(Everyone chuckles lightly, the tension easing as the scene fades.)
