Complete the following piece of writing using the given vocab and
structures:

(1) The maps depict the development of a town from 1990 to 2010, following
the appearance of a hydropower dam.

In general, the original mountainous area was completely transformed, turning


into a more modernized town. Apart from the Northernmost region, (2)the rest of
the town was renovated with the addition of several residential and
industrial amenities.

In 1990, the region was bisected by a river flowing from North to South. (3)_On
the Eastern bank, there was irrigated farmland next to villages _, while the
Western side was a pristine habitat for rare species of fauna and flora. There was
also an ancient structure and a forested land further to the Northwest. (4)_Both
areas nestled between the North and South mountains_.

20 years later, following the introduction of the hydroelectric dam in the center of
town, (5) the Northern area was replaced by a lake. (6) Ancient structure
was then removed to make room for farmland, and a hotel was constructed
where the villages once were. Another residential area appeared to the South,
where the river still divided the area. Along the two riversides were the
powerlines that carried the electricity produced by the dam. (7) In the West,
there was no wildlife as the forest and mountain disappeared. (8)However,
the mountain in the Northeast area remained untouched during this period.
