FIRST AID
PRACTICE
 The standard dosage in acute ailments is two small
tablets, granules every 15 minutes to four hours.
(related to severity)
 Continue giving remedy until improvement is noticed.
Then stop and wait.
 There is a rhythmic effect in the interval – like a swing
you want to push at the right time or you stop the
action.
 Tip the dose directly from the cap into the mouth. OR
 Tip the dose onto a clean spoon (metal)
 If you poor out to many throw out the extra. Never put
them back in the bottle.
 Do Not Touch The Inside of the CAP.
 Never open more than one remedy at a time.
 Wait 15 minutes after eating or drinking to take
remedy
 Nothing after the dose for 15 minutes
 Eliminate Coffee until completely improved
 Remedies have indefinite shelf life if handled properly
 Keep away from heat, bright light, perfume. Strong
odors (camphor, etc).

 Aconite's
 Cold: Beneficial for the first stages of common cold, sneezing, runny drippy nose, clear, hot, watery
nasal discharge. Burning, sensitive throat. Throbbing headaches. Roaring in ears.
 Colic: Helpful for colic with gas, wants cold water

 Cough/Croup: Useful for croup. Constant short, dry cough. Sudden onset during night, after
exposure to cold, dry winds, awake after midnight with anxiety & croupy, barking cough

 Dental Problems: Helpful for fear of treatment

 Earache: Useful for external ear when painful, swollen, red, and hot. Sensitive to noise. Frantic with
pain

 Eye: Helpful for first-aid for eye injury to diminish inflammation and relieve pain. Scratch on cornea.
Eyes feel dry, hot & sandy. Adverse to light. Eyes red, inflamed, watery.

 Fever: Useful for fever with sudden violent onset, after exposure to cold, dry wind. Restlessness.

 Fright: Helpful for someone who is fearful, or with bad effects of fright
Headache: Useful for heavy, throbbing, bursting pain in the head. Sensation of fullness in forehead.
Sensation of band around head. Feels as if hair were pulled or stood on end. Dizziness, worse on
rising. Eyes feel dry, hot & sandy. Adverse to light. Eyes red, inflamed, watery.

 Urinary Problems: Helpful for bladder Infections. Painful urination. Anxiety at start of urination.
Urine scanty, hot, red. Sudden retention of urine from chill or fright. Aconite may also go under the
names Aconitum Napellus and Aconite Nap, abbreviated Acon is from the plant Monkshood.
 Antimonium Tartaricum's :

Acne: Helpful for acne with itchy, large pustules, forms crust leaves a bluish red scar on
various parts of the body.

Bronchitis: Useful for bronchitis with breathing sounds like person is drowning in their
own secretions, Rattling, wheezing breath.
Looks ill, is pale with cold sweat

Chicken Pox: Helpful for chicken pox with large pustules, painful vesicles, and eruptions
with tendency to leave pockmarks.

Colds: Useful for colds with excess mucous with tendency to go into lungs. Gasps for
breath, feels weak. Always spitting up mucous

Cough: Helpful for rattling, wheezing coughs. Nonproductive cough, no expectoration;


seems to be drowning in own secretions; face cold, pale, bluish, with cold sweat;
Lethargy

Respiration: Useful for respiratory problems such as hoarseness, rattling, wheezing.


Burning sensation in chest, which goes up to throat. Bronchial tubes overwhelmed with
mucous. Rapid, short, difficult breathing. Feels might suffocate, must sit up. Pulse rapid,
weak.
Apis Mell's:

 BEE STINGS: swelling, itching, redness.


 Hives: Hives, small or giant. Itchy, stinging, burning
pains
 Insect Bites: Burning & stinging with all complaints,
Hives
 Urinary Problems: Painful, scanty urination.
 Arnica Montana
 Shock, injuries, bruising: Overexertion, fear of being touched or approached
Pain and ailments from overexertion.
 Blows: Helpful for blows with shock, use as first aid treatment
 Bruises: Useful for bruising injuries, soreness, bleeding into tissues, swelling
 Dental Work: Use prior to and after any work to lessen pain and speed healing
 Falls: Useful for falls, use as first aid in a bottle
 Injuries: Helpful for injuries with pulled muscles, aches, swelling
 Muscles: Useful for muscles with aches and pains from overexertion; arthritis; old
injuries
 Shin Splints: Use prior to exercise to minimize chance of shin splints
Overexertion to minimize pain.
 Shock From Trauma: Use as first aid for shock.
 Sore: Helpful for soreness from overexertion
 Surgery: Use prior to and after any surgery or operation.
 Tendon: Use before or after exercise to reduce soreness of tendon. Helps with
muscular jerking or weakness.
 Belladonna's :
Children: Useful for colds and flu, sore throats, rapid high fever.
A great children's first aid remedy. Child may be prone to swollen glands.
Dental: Throbbing pain in teeth. Grinds teeth. Useful for toothache that is throbbing,
especially right-sided.
Circulation: A great circulatory remedy. Useful for cold hands and feet due to poor
circulation. Poor circulation and low thyroid should be considered when hands & feet are
always cold.
Colic: Helpful for colic with severe cramping pain
Earache: Useful for ear pain that is throbbing, beating. Earache in right ear.
Eyes: spots or ulcers on the cornea; for yellow or redness in eyes; for dry, burning eyes;
inflammation and throbbing pain in eyes; weak sight or night blindness, or sensitive to
light.
Face: Useful for face that is red, hot, swollen, shiny, but dry.
Fever: Helpful for extreme high fever that comes on suddenly, then breaks just as
suddenly. Skin is dry, burning hot; feels hot to the touch. Feet are icy cold. No thirst with
fever. Red face, Hot, dry skin. Cold hands and feet. Restlessness. Sleepy, but cannot sleep,
thrashing about, twitching in sleep. Hard, pounding pulse
Headache: Keep Belladonna on hand to stop a throbbing headache. Head feels full, hot.
Sinus headache. Constant moaning. Worse in forehead, temples and right side,
sensitivity to light, motion, noise. Flushed hot face, but extremities are cold.
Sunstroke.
 Mental: Useful for a person whose mentality is moaning,
critical and complaining, can't stand least bit of upset.
 Mouth: Helpful for dry mouth. Throbbing pain in teeth.
Grinds teeth. Strawberry tongue.
 Nose: Useful for nose that feels dry, hot.
 Respiratory: Beneficial for short, dry, tickling cough.
Worse at night. Better when sitting up.
 Skin: Helpful for skin that is dry, hot, swollen. Useful is
cases of measles, mumps and chicken pox.
 Sleep: Useful for person who is sleepy, but cannot sleep.
 Sore Throat: Helpful for throat that is a bright, red color.
Strawberry tongue, red on edges
 Stomach: Useful for stomach with no appetite, swollen,
distended, hot, tender.. Very thirsty, but dreads drinking.
 Throat: Helpful for dry, red, sore throat. Worse right side.
Tonsils are swollen. Throat feels constricted, like it has a
lump in it. Difficulty swallowing even liquids.
 Carbo Veg's

 Chronic Conditions: Beneficial for chronic ongoing problems, "Never


well since....", of past illness.
 Bad effects from excess loss of fluids. Weakness
 Recovery: Helpful for humans or animals in recovery and
convalescence. Recovery from shock and severe illness, limbs may
appear cold and blue, clammy sweat and cold breath.
 Cough: Useful for spasmodic, rattling cough. Itching in throat.
Gagging, choking and vomiting of mucus. Painless hoarseness, worse
evenings. Loss of voice.
 Digestion: Beneficial for weak digestion. Even simplest foods disagree
& turn to gas. Much sour belching. Regurgitation of food. Heartburn.
Abdominal distention with cramping pains, worse lying down.
 Ear: Helpful for tinnitus with dizziness.
 Gelsemium

 Cold: Use for colds with constantly runny noses. Sneezing. Sense of fullness at base of
nose, dull headache & fever.
Flu: Helpful for flu with coldness with chills up and down back, body aches and pains
and exhaustion, neck and shoulder muscles are sore. Sleepless, but very fatigued, weary,
eyelids, head, limbs feel heavy. Great trembling & weakness of all limbs, muscles feel
bruised. Dull, heavy backache. Tiredness of whole body with least exertion. Unrefreshed
sleep and fatigue with limbs weak and trembling.
Headache: Headaches with a dull heavy ache, like a band about head, vertigo, dizzy,
eyelids feel heavy. Sore neck and shoulder muscles. Useful for headache with heaviness &
sensation of band around head. Pain at back of head, radiating towards forehead,
neuralgia, migraine, headaches due to spinal misalignment. Muscular soreness of neck
and shoulders. Scalp sore to touch. Relieved by copious urination.
Heat Exhaustion: Helpful for heat exhaustion with extreme weakness. Headache with
bursting sensation in forehead and eyeballs or sensation of band around head. Extreme
heaviness of eyelids.
Mental: Emotionally Gelsemium can help with apprehension before an event, being
with other people, going to the doctor, before a performance. Help for depression
following an unsettling experience. Useful for mental state of apprehension, anticipation
with weakness, trembling, fuzzy thinking, diarrhea. Nervous and worry over performing,
stage fright, excess worry over going to doctor or dentist.
 Hypericum :
Dental: Use prior to going to the dentist to help prevent nerve pain. Pain from dental
surgery, such as root canal or tooth extraction. Help prevent dry socket.

 Head: Helpful for headache where there is vertigo, head has strange sensations.
Injuries: Useful for injuries of the spinal cord. Prevention of lockjaw from puncture
wounds. Relief from insect bites, bee stings, abrasions, burns, cuts, eye injury.

 Nerve Injury: Helpful especially to parts rich in nerves, as fingertips, toes, lips, nose.
Jerking & twitching of muscles. Darting pain

 Pre and Post-Operative Pain: Take before surgery to speed healing and take after to
reduce pain.

 Puncture Wounds: Useful for wounds that are sore & painful, long-lasting. Preventative
for lockjaw.

 Skin: Helpful as a topical treatment for corns, thin skin, varicose ulcers. Use pellets along
with ointment for topical skin treatment. Safe and gentle on sensitive skin tissue such as,
varicose ulcers.

 Splinters: Useful for relieving pain, fosters healing

 Tailbone Injury: Useful even in old tailbone injuries. Relief from shooting pain.
Hypericum also known as Hypericum Perforatum, Hypericum Perf.
 Ipecac's
 Abdominal: Helpful for cutting pain in the abdominal area.
 Asthma: Useful for asthma that comes on suddenly. Chest feels
constricted. Wheezing, suffocating cough. Gasping. Must sit up to
breathe. Unable to bring up any mucus.
 Cough: Helpful for cough that is incessant & violent with every breath.
 Dental: Useful for dental work with profuse bleeding
 Diarrhea: Helpful for grassy, green, frothy stool with cramping pains.
 Hoarseness: Useful for hoarseness after a cold. May lose voice.
 Nausea: Helpful for persistent nausea that is not relieved by vomiting.
 Nosebleed: Useful for nosebleed with bright red blood.
 Pain: Helpful for clutching pain worse at navel.
 Pale Face: Useful for pale face with blue around eyes.
Vomiting: Helpful for vomiting (with a clean tongue) of much slimy,
white mucus. Profuse salivation.
 Worse from: Lying down, Slightest motion or exercise, Dry weather,
Winter. Ipecac is also known as Ipecacuanha.
Ledum's
 Ankle or Foot Sprains: Corrects the tendency to sprains
 Bites & Stings: Helpful for bites/stings with pains that extend
upward
 Black Eye: Useful for a black eye caused by a blow
 Bruises: Helpful for bruises with discoloration that lingers.
Better from: Cold application.
 Worse from: Warm application, Heat of bed, Night,
 Puncture: Useful for injured parts that feel cold but are relieved
by cold
 Rheumatism: Helpful for rheumatism with pains beginning in
feet, traveling upward. Shooting pains, especially in small joints.
Soles painful. Heels feel bruise, Ankles swollen. Gouty pains in
big toe,
 Wounds: Useful for wounds with pain at site of injection.
Ledum also known as Ledum Pal or Ledum Palustre.
Nux Vomica's :
 Asthma: Helpful for attacks that often follow stomach upset with much
belching. Oppressed breathing with shallow respiration
 Colds: Useful for early stages of colds. Stuffy cold. Attacks of sneezing or sore
throat. Nose runs during day and stopped at night. Sniffles of infants. Stuffy
cold.
 Constipation Alternating with Diarrhea: Corrects frequent, ineffective
urging to stool. "Something left behind". To help relieve the laxative habit
 Coughs: Helpful for dry, Tight, hacking, or tickling cough with sore throat and
chest. Sensation that coughs tears something loose in chest. Coughing spells.
Cough brings on a bursting headache.
 FLU: Useful for the inability to get warm; shivering, especially after drinking.
Chilly from least movement under covers. Cramping pains.
 Headache: Helps with "Hangover headache," from over-indulgence in rich
food or drink. Splitting pain in back of head or over eyes, as if nail driven in.
Frontal pain, desire to press head against something. Scalp sore to touch.
Headache in sunshine. Associated with stomach problems
 Hemorrhoids: Useful for itching that is relieved by cool bathing
 Indigestion: Useful for sour and bitter belching. Bloating of abdomen few
hours after eating. Heartburn. Overindulgence in rich food, coffee, liquor
 Insomnia: Helpful for insomnia that occurs after mental
strain, or with thoughts of day's work. Cannot sleep after
3:00a.m. until morning; wakes feeling miserable.
 Better from: Evening, Strong pressure, Eating, Warmth,
Touch, Rest, Spices
 Worse from: Mental exertion, Anger, Uninterrupted nap;
Dry weather; over doing stimulants, such as coffee, liquor,
narcotics.
 Mental: Useful for irritability, impatience, oversensitivity
to noise, light, touch, odors. Workaholics with sedentary
life style.
 Nausea: Helpful for constant nausea, sour burping.
 Pregnancy: Help for nausea of pregnancy. Stops morning
sickness that occurs from just certain foods or smells.
Indigestion or vomiting.
Phosphorus
 Anxiety: Helpful for anxiety, weakness, and fear especially
of dark and ghosts.
 Bleeding: Useful for profuse bleeding anywhere. Usually
bright red. Dental hemorrhage. Nosebleed. Postoperative
bleeding
 Colds: Useful for colds that progress to the chest
 Constipation: Helpful for constipation with slender, long,
hard, difficult to pass stool, like a dog's stool
 Better from: Open air, Rubbing, Cold food or drink. Worse
from: Lying on painful side, Physical or mental exertion.
Thunderstorms, Change of weather, Getting wet in hot
weather, Warm food, Touch. Craves open air. Thirst less
with nearly all complaints.
 Coughs: Helpful for hard, dry, tickling cough that hurts
throat. Racking cough with trembling. Cough increases
when talking or breathing cold air. Sensation of heavy
weight in chest
 Diarrhea: Useful for diarrhea that is painless, profuse,
debilitating. Watery, "pouring away as if from a hydrant".
Morning diarrhea of old people. Chronic loose stool
 Hoarsness: Useful for hoarseness that may progress to loss
of voice
 Indigestion: Helpful for weak, empty, gone sensation in
whole abdominal cavity. Craves cold food & drink. Pain in
stomach, relieved by cold food & ices. Regurgitates
mouthfuls
 Influence: Useful for influenza with nausea, night sweats,
burning pains in stomach and bowels.
 Larygitis: Helpful for laryngitis with raw, sore, furry
throat. Painful and violent tickling in throat while
speaking; sore throat from overuse
 Nausea: Useful for nausea from placing hands in warm
water and pregnancy
 Pallor: Helpful for pale, sickly complexion. May have
circumscribed redness in one or both cheeks. Often
appears less ill than really is
 Surgery: Take before surgery to minimize bleeding and
anesthesia effects.
Vomiting: Helpful for vomiting of food scarcely swallowed,
or as soon as water becomes warm in stomach. Sour taste
and belching.
Pulsatilla's
 Bedwetting: Helps strengthen bladder.
 Breastfeeding: For balancing, will increase milk in a
nursing mother and decrease milk after weaning.
 Colds: Useful for nose that runs in open air. Nose stuffy
indoors and at night. Thick, creamy, yellow nasal discharge.
Sticky discharge from eyes. Fever, but no thirst
 Cough: Useful for coughs with gagging, choking, in
paroxysms. Cough dry in evening, loose in morning. Brings
up thick yellow mucus. Feels as if weight on chest; must sit
up for relief
 Earache: Helpful for ears that feel stopped with severe
throbbing pain, worse at night. External ear swollen & red.
Thick, yellow, bland discharge
 Fainting: Helpful for fainting that occurs from hot, stuffy
atmosphere
 Indigestion: Useful for indigestion with dry mouth
without thirst, bitter taste, belching, heartburn.
 Flatulence. Painful stomach about an hour after eating.
Weight like a stone in stomach. Must loosen clothing.
Averse to fat food, warm food and drink.
 Insomnia: Useful for insomnia from recurrent thoughts.
Wide awake in evening. Better from: Open air, Cold
applications, Motion. Worse from: Warmth, Overeating,
Toward evening
 Menstrual Disorder: Corrects the delayed onset of
menses and intermittent flow. Flow scanty, painful. Flow
thick, dark, clotted. Bearing down sensation. Very
emotional. Chilliness. Nausea, vomiting
