The configuration changes in Sublime Text as per the instructions include setting the color scheme to 'Monokai', the theme to 'default black', the font type to 'Copper', size to '11', and style to 'italic'. These changes enhance text editing tasks by offering better syntax highlighting and readability, essential when navigating complex code. The contrast of the color scheme aids in distinguishing elements such as keywords, variables, and strings, while font configuration helps reduce visual errors, contributing to seamless code development .

Organizing downloaded files into a specific folder such as 'Cdacc' facilitates software installations by ensuring that all related files are stored systematically, making them easy to locate and manage. This organizational practice mitigates the risk of file misplacement and provides a clear directory structure that aids swift retrieval during reinstallations or updates. It enhances productivity by maintaining an orderly digital workspace, which is crucial in environments where efficient data management is vital .

Setting a security question related to personal study interests can provide intuitive recall for the user, ensuring that they can easily recover or reset the account in case of forgotten credentials. However, the drawbacks include the potential predictability of the answer, which might be more easily guessed by someone familiar with the user. It highlights the need to balance ease of memory with the confidentiality of security measures .

The steps to download and install Sublime Text software include accessing the internet through a browser such as Mozilla Firefox, locating the official Sublime Text website, downloading the software compatible with the given operating system, and running the installation process. This involves initiating the installation file and following the setup instructions. This process enhances a technician's practical skills by fostering familiarity with software acquisition, installation protocols, ensuring compatibility, and configuring program settings for optimal performance .

Not using a Microsoft account when creating the CDACC user account enhances user privacy and autonomy by limiting data sharing with Microsoft's servers. This implies that the user's activities, files, and preferences remain local to the machine, reducing exposure to online data breaches and targeted tracking by Microsoft. It grants users more control over their data, fostering a sense of security and independence in managing personal or institutional computing environments .

The specific steps involve first creating a new user account on a Windows-operated computer. This requires accessing the user management settings via the control panel or settings option, choosing to add a new user without a Microsoft account, and naming the account “CDACC.” Next, the user must set the password to 'cdac123' and configure the security question to 'I am studying ICT technician level 6'. Finally, the user must switch to the 'CDACC' account and log in .

Setting a theme and font in Sublime Text as per the instructions enhances a user's coding comfort and efficiency by providing a visually pleasant coding environment. The 'Monokai' color scheme is known for its high contrast, which reduces eye strain, while the 'default black' theme is minimalistic, helping to keep focus on the code. The choice of 'Copper' font type, size 11, and italics also assists in differentiating code syntax clearly, improving readability and reducing the likelihood of errors .

The assessment guides the candidate to test the installed Sublime Text software by having them type a simple HTML code to display 'Hello World' on the web browser. This involves using the configured user settings such as color scheme, theme, and font style, then saving the file as 'hello_world' in the Cdacc folder and checking its functionality by opening it in a web browser to ensure the display is correct .

Using Mozilla Firefox as the web browser for the practical assessment is significant due to its open-source nature, which ensures transparency and user control over privacy settings. Firefox is known for robust security features, including tracking protection and regular security updates, which aid in safe browsing. Additionally, its compatibility with various internet standards, customization options, and performance efficiency make it an optimal choice for tasks requiring stable and efficient web interactions, such as downloading and testing software .

Creating a user-specific desktop environment by changing the background and screen saver enables personalization, which can increase a user's comfort and satisfaction with their workspace. Personalization allows users to tailor visual elements to their preferences, potentially boosting mood and productivity. It also helps in differentiating multiple accounts on a shared device. In IT settings, a personalized desktop setup can improve efficiency by minimizing distractions and enabling quick access to frequently used resources .
