This isn’t your average girl’s tale at all-
She’s tiny, she’s mighty, she’s breaking the wall!
[Verse 1] (Matilda)
I read the classics by age four,
While mum and dad just yell and snore
They say “Be loud! Watch telly bright!”
But I prefer to learn and write.
(Mr. Wormwood)
Books? Bah! They rot your brain!
Buy a car, cheat the game!
(Mrs. Wormwood)
 Beauty’s all you need to win-
Dancing, nails, and a perma-grin!

(Ensemble)
But Matilda’s got a different plan-
Smarter than most any man!
[Verse 2](Miss Honey)
She’s special-gifted, kind and true,
But trapped in lies, what can I do?
(Matilda)
You gave me hope when no one could-
We’ll stand together, like we should
(Ensemble)
There’s a power in a gentle voice,
And Standing up becomes your choice!

I hate small children-filthy beasts!
Sit up straight! No talking! Least!
I’ll throw you far, I’ll crush your dreams,
Your tears won’t change my iron schemes!

Yikes! It’s the Trunchbull! Run away!
Can Matilda save the day?
