A mechanism in which blood circulates twice through the heart in 1
one complete cycle is known as double circulation. Double
circulation is
necessary in human beings to separate oxygenated and deoxygenated 1

SECTION-E
37. a. During the blast furnace process, the element with lower reactive power will be 1
reduced by carbon. That means, carbon acts as a reducing agent for elements 1
that are lower in the reactive series than carbon, but here Aluminium is more
reactive than carbon. This makes the reduction of Aluminium not possible. 1

B.
C.
Copper is generally more rust-resistant than iron due to several key factors:
1. Corrosion Mechanism: Iron rusts through a process called oxidation,
where it reacts with oxygen and moisture in the environment to form
iron oxide (rust). Copper, on the other hand, forms a protective layer
(copper carbonate) when it oxidizes, which can help prevent further
corrosion.
2. Formation of Protective Coatings: When iron oxidizes, it forms flaky
rust that does not adhere well to the underlying metal, allowing
moisture and oxygen to penetrate and continue the corrosion process.
In contrast, the oxide layer on copper is typically more stable and
adheres well to the surface, providing a protective barrier.
3. Electrochemical Properties: Copper is less reactive than iron in terms of
reactivity. It is situated lower on the reactivity series than iron,
meaning it is less likely to participate in electrochemical reactions that
lead to corrosion.
