Chapter 2

Cosmic dignity of the rulers: the ability for self-realization

It is a measure of the quantity and quality of planetary energy, which will give us a
idea of the individual's capacity for achievement, without external help, in a specific context
area of life, whether by presence, regency or analogy. And all this aside from the
facilities or difficulties that the subject may encounter due to a possible aspect
harmonic (ease) or dissonant (difficulty).

We will say that a planet is cosmically worthy when it is domiciled or

exalted by its position in a certain sign; and unworthy if it is in exile or in fall. If
this pilgrim will be worthy only for matters that are his own, but he will be
subordinate to the dignity of its disposing planet (the ruler of the sign in which he

When a planet is domiciled, it is in maximum cosmic dignity.

although, according to some authors, with some nuance of excess. According to tradition, "it is enough

Take Mars in Capricorn as an example, which is hardworking and executive, it despises the
lazy and joins hardworking people; sometimes it can be a somewhat
conceited or somewhat uncomprehending, but she doesn't stop acting wisely. She also has
ability to achieve in the matters indicated by the house in which it is present, and to the
satisfaction in the matters indicated by the house of which it is regent.

Tradition attributes very specific positions to the exaltation of the planets, a degree
exactly of the zodiac. Take the exaltation of the Sun as an example, which is found at the degree
20º (twentieth) of Aries (between the 19th and the 20th). The zodiac is not considered as a
indefinite succession of points of infinitesimal amplitude, but as spaces of 1/360 of
the circumference (the infinite, the whole). It is correct to attribute to all Aries, from 0 to 30 degrees,
the quality favorable to the expression of the solar (spirit, conviction, assertiveness,
energy, irradiation), but perhaps it is in the vicinity of the 20th degree, where the Sun is
as strong, or stronger, than Mars itself in its home, which would also imply strength,
regency and transmission of meaning.

When a planet is in fall, it experiences the opposite of exaltation: "it lacks

planets are cosmically worthy.

There are other lesser dignities that must be used with caution, but that can imply a
estimable possibility of achievement for the native when the entirety of their chart is cosmically unworthy,

by analogy.

Mutual reception, when a planet is in a sign and the ruler of that sign is located in the
sign that rules the first (for example, Mars in Cancer with the Moon in Aries or Scorpio),
especially if they also form an ecliptic aspect. It can have greater or lesser dignity by sign, but

and Sun in Taurus, exaltation of the Moon.
The decanates are divisions of 10° in which the planets act with some effectiveness, although it would be necessary to
consider whether they are unworthy at the opposite points of the zodiac:

The fire Latrigonocracy is composed of Mars, Jupiter, and the Sun (rulers of the fire signs),

The moon can act effectively in Scorpio, or Mars in Cancer, which would contradict the
main cosmic dignity. So that we can grant trigonocracy a reasonable validity, the
The planet must maintain affinity with the element of the sign it occupies, even if it is peregrine.

Venus is aligned with the sign of Cancer (and not with Capricorn) because the Moon (its ruler) is

common with Jupiter the heat and 'the heat favors life'; Jupiter is more akin to Leo than to Aquarius; Saturn
is more aligned with Taurus than with Scorpio; Uranus is more aligned with Gemini than with Sagittarius; Neptune is better in Cancer
that in Capricorn; Pluto is better in Capricorn than in Cancer. The Sun is better in Sagittarius than in
Gemini; the Moon is better in Pisces than in Virgo, etc.

To know if a person tends towards satisfaction or, on the contrary, towards frustration,
we will observe the dignity of the AS regent. This is not in contradiction with the
possibility of achieving what one proposes (planet worthy cosmically present in
the ASC). This would be the case of an ASC in Aries, with Mars, its ruler, in Taurus.
(exiled, which implies frustration); but a eventual Sun in the ASC (exalted, which
(it implies realization) would help him achieve what he set out to do, no matter what the subject.
it will never seem enough.

We can do the same with the cosmic dignity of each peak if we want to see the
satisfaction or frustration in every area of life. But in the overall picture, who is most
the ruler of the ASC will weigh. The ruler of the angular houses (ASC, MC, DSC, IC) will be
the one that will weigh the most compared to the other houses.
However, instead of just classifying a person as 'satisfied' or
"frustrated", which would constitute a simplistic appreciation, we must distinguish the degree
of satisfaction according to the nature of the realms of life or areas of experience:

PERSONAL (fire): AS, house 5, house 9.

MATERIAL (earth): MC, house 2, house 6.
SOCIAL OR INTELLECTUAL (air): DS, house 11, house 3.
EMOTIONAL (water): FC, house 8, house 12.

Whenever we are going to interpret a house, we must first consider the

degree and satisfaction that the subject aims for. Figures 1 and 2 show us the example of
a house 7 with Venus (exiled) and Mars (domiciled) in the sign of Scorpio.

Fig. 1: Ruler of 7 exiled and planet currently domiciled.

In the case of figure 1, with the cusp of 7 in Libra, the subject tends towards dissatisfaction.

with elegance and complacency; but with Venus, its ruler, in Scorpio, it tends to
to do it in a demanding and imposing manner. The overwhelming energy of Mars in residence
it serves to join with those who are proposed, often passionate people, but it ends up
imposing dissatisfaction, as it requires a union in very different terms to
achieve harmony in your life.

scant success of exiled Venus does not help him to unite with whom he intends, often

to the people who suit them, more committed, to achieve harmony in their
life.

Fig. 3: Sigmund Freud (May 6, 1856 - 18:30 Frieberg)

As an example to analyze the frustrations in the complete natal chart of a character

we will use the case of Sigmund Freud, who dedicated a good part of his life to
analyze the frustrations, and we will proceed considering the cosmic dignity of the
regents of the houses grouping them according to areas of experience:

PERSONAL
AS: Mars exiled (and Pluto too).
House 5: Jupiter domiciled (and Neptune too).
House 9: Wandering Moon; Mercury (its dispositor) as well; Venus (its dispositor)
exiled.
He has a considerable tendency towards frustration, as the ruler of the Ascendant weighs more.
compensated by the domicile of Jupiter, but above all by mutual reception
between Venus and Mars (and Pluto), which helped him overcome his personal frustrations: His
good education (Venus) proved useful for achieving its objectives (Mars, as ruler
of AS).

MATERIAL
MC: Wandering sun; Venus (its dispositor) in exile.
House 2: Jupiter in domicile.
House 6: Exiled Mars.

Also here the tendency to frustration is considerable, and also overcome with the
help from the aforementioned mutual reception. Jupiter in domicile assures an achievement.
economic, despite the difficulties indicated by the square that this planet receives
of the malevolent Saturn.

SOCIAL
DS: Exiled Venus.
House 11: Mercury peregrine; Venus (its dispositor) in exile.
House 3: Wandering Saturn; Mercury (its dispositor) as well; Venus (its dispositor)
exiled.

Here we would find their greatest frustration, but we have already seen that Venus can
resort to the combativeness of its disposer (Mars) to overcome its limitations in the
relationships with others.

EMOTIONAL
FC: Wandering Saturn; Mercury (its dispositor) as well; Venus (its dispositor)
exiled. Uranus in fall.
House 8: Mercury in exile; Venus (its dispositor) in exile.
House 12: Exiled Venus.

Here we could say the same. And we will add that the fact of not having any planet

to escape from their undeniable frustrations.
