Little Petals International School – Curriculum overview for the primary section
Our curriculum – Guided by the National Curriculum of England in partnership with Edexcel-Pearson
Education. The curriculum is blended with the Uganda national curriculum.
Academic Calendar: LiPIS academic year starts from January to November. It is six years – Year 1- Year 6.
Curriculum has core subjects and foundation subjects.
Core subjects: English, Mathematics, Science
English and Mathematics are taught every day. Science is taught twice a week
Foundation subjects: Computing, Art, music, Physical Education, Modern Foreign language (French), My
world covering history, geography concepts …(SST), Religious Education, Computer… Once a week.
Assessments: Through the years (year 1-year 5 children are assessed informally through teacher
observation and tests. Year 1-Year 5 where they are prepared to either move on to do PLE at Year 6/7 with
UNEB or move on to secondary school and continue with the international curriculum.
