Our educational excursion aimed to broaden our knowledge and perspective as BBA 6th and
4th semester students. The tour encompassed Pokhara, Ghandruk, Sauraha, Davis Falls,
Prithvi Narayan Campus, and Manungkot over a duration of five days. The BBA 6th and 4th
semester educational excursion served as a transformative journey for our cohort, designed to
enrich our academic pursuits with real-world experiences. Over the course of seven days, we
explored the vibrant locales of Pokhara, Ghandruk, Sauraha, Davis , Prithvi Narayan
Campus, and Manungkot. The primary purpose of this tour was to provide a holistic learning
experience, transcending traditional classroom boundaries and fostering a deeper
understanding of business, culture, and environment in diverse settings.

The primary objective was to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical
application, offering us a firsthand understanding of the complexities within regional
economies, business practices, and cultural dynamics. As we set out on this educational
adventure, the significance of each destination and the carefully planned itinerary promised
an immersive learning journey that would contribute significantly to our academic and
personal development.

As aspiring business professionals, the tour aimed to expose us to practical applications of

theoretical knowledge, unravel regional economic dynamics, and instill a profound
appreciation for cultural diversities. This report chronicles our journey, detailing the
destinations visited, the carefully curated itinerary, learning objectives, preparations made,
travel experiences, and the impact of various activities on our overall educational perspective

2.1 Destination; Pokhara

Pokhara, the jewel of the Himalayas, was chosen as the focal point of our educational
excursion. Nestled in the lap of the Annapurna mountain range, this city offers a unique blend
of natural beauty, cultural richness, and economic diversity, making it an ideal destination for
our learning objectives

2.2 Itinerary
Day1 ; The journey begins

• Early morning departure from Dhankuta Multiple Campus

• Whole day travel in bus enjoying beautiful scenes and sceneries , singing and having
meals.
• Travel whole night having most of the rest in the bus

Day 2; Arrival in Pokhara

• Early morning arrival in Pokhara

• Rest for 4-5 hours
• Morning visit Prithvi Narayan Campus – Explore campus museum and faculty to gain
insights into the educational system and then visit to Bindabyasini temple.
• Afternoon visit Davis Falls - understand the geological features and folklore
associated with the falls.
• Evening explore Pumdikot Lord Shiva Statue - learn about the religious significance
and cultural practices.
• Evening visit to Peace Pagoda - grasp the history and philosophy behind this iconic
structure.
• Night explore Pokhara – street festival, interact with some international tourists, enjoy
Pokhara foods and culinary

Day 3; Journey and exploration of Ghandruk

• Morning: Departure to Ghandruk village - immerse in the cultural diversity and

traditions of the local Gurung community.
• Afternoon:Interaction with villagers, exploration of Gurung culture,,custom,,tradition,
,enjoy beutifull sight of Macchepuchre mountain ,understanding the impact of tourism
on their daily lives
• Evening departure from Ghandruk and night stay at Damauli
Day 4; Visit to Manungkot; Place above the clouds and Sauraha,Chitwan

• Morning departure from Damauli and arrival at Manungkot ; the place abonve clouds
at 1080 m, from sea level.
• Enjoy beautiful scenes of Mt Mt Machhapuchre, Mt Annapurna, Mt Lamjung, Mt
Dhaulagiri, Mt Manaslu, Mt Himchuli, and more small mountains and clouds .
• Late morning departure from Manungkot and journey to Sauraha.
• Afternoon arrival to Sauraha
• Enjoy jungle safari at Sauraha , a beautiful glance at wildlife at Sauraha in the safari.
• Evening exploration of Sauraha market
• Night departure from Sauraha and journey back to Dhankuta.

Day 5; Back to Dhankuta

• Whole night travel in bus

• Early morning arrival back to Dhankuta
• End of an beautiful journey
3. Learning Objectives:
The learning objectives for this educational tour were strategically crafted to align with the
BBA curriculum and enhance the overall educational experience:

• Business Insights: Develop a practical understanding of the economic landscape by

exploring the economic impact of tourism in Pokhara and the role of entrepreneurship
in the region.

• Cultural Appreciation: Gain insights into the rich cultural tapestry of Nepal by
immersing in the local traditions, practices, and lifestyles of communities in
Ghandruk and Manungkot..

• Global Perspectives: Connect with global perspectives through visits to international

tourist destinations like the Peace Pagoda, understanding the implications of global
tourism on local economies.

• Educational System: Explore the educational ecosystem by interacting with students

and faculty at Prithvi Narayan Campus, fostering a cross-cultural exchange of
educational practices.

The success of the educational tour to Pokhara was underpinned by thorough preparation,
ensuring that participants were well-informed, equipped, and ready to extract maximum
educational value from the experience.

4.1 Pre-departure Information

Prior to the tour, a series of pre-departure meetings and information were conducted. These
sessions served as a platform to discuss the itinerary in detail, address any concerns or queries
from the participants, and establish a shared understanding of the tour's objectives. Important
logistical information, safety guidelines, and behavioral expectations were communicated
during these meetings.

4.2 Special Instructions

Specific instructions tailored to each destination were provided to the participants. These
instructions covered aspects such as appropriate behavior in cultural or religious settings,
guidelines for respectful interactions with local communities, and safety protocols during
adventure activities. The goal was to ensure that participants approached each destination
with cultural sensitivity and a responsible mindset.

4.3 Health and Safety Measures

Given the diverse activities planned, including adventure tourism, health and safety measures
were a top priority. Participants were briefed on emergency procedures, medical facilities
available in the vicinity of each destination, and were provided with a basic first aid kit.
Additionally, participants were encouraged to disclose any health concerns or dietary
restrictions beforehand to ensure a smooth and safe journey.

4.4 Logistical Planning

Effective logistical planning played a pivotal role in ensuring a smooth and well-organized
educational excursion to Pokhara. These plans included the plan and info about
transportation, accommodation, meals , guides and interpreters , budget management, health
and safety measures , contingency planning(Plan B)

The journey from the university campus to Pokhara and throughout the various destinations
offered a comprehensive and memorable travel experience. This section details the overall
travel logistics, accommodation arrangements, and any challenges faced during the journey:

• Transportation:

• Buses: Charter buses provided a comfortable and spacious mode of

transportation, facilitating interaction among participants and allowing for
group activities during travel.

• Scenic Routes: The carefully planned routes provided breathtaking views of

the Himalayas, enhancing the overall travel experience.

• Accommodation:

• Comfortable Stays: The selected accommodations exceeded expectations in

terms of comfort, cleanliness, and hospitality, contributing positively to the
overall experience.

• Proximity to Destinations: Strategic selection of accommodations ensured

minimal travel time to key destinations, maximizing the time for exploration
and learning.

• Challenges:

• Transportation Delays: Some minor delays in transportation schedules were

encountered due to unforeseen circumstances. However, contingency plans
were swiftly enacted to minimize disruptions.

• Unique Experiences:

• Cultural Interactions: Interactions with locals during travel provided unique

insights into the daily lives and traditions of the communities along the route.

• Adventure Travel: The journey to Sauraha, in particular, offered an exciting

adventure travel experience, contributing to the overall diversity of the tour.

• Cultural Exposure:

• Local Markets: Stops at local markets during the journey provided

opportunities for participants to engage in cultural exchanges, sample local
delicacies, and purchase traditional artifacts.

• Positive Vibes:_ Despite minor challenges, the overall atmosphere during
travel remained positive and enthusiastic, with participants expressing a sense
of adventure and anticipation for the upcoming destinations

6.1 Prithivi Narayan Campus

The visit to Prithvi Narayan Campus facilitated an academic exchange, offering insights into
the educational system of Nepal. Interactions with students and faculty broadened
perspectives on higher education in the country. The museum of Prithvi Narayan Campus
provided us with information regarding different species of butterflies and insects found in
Nepal and also about vegetation of Nepal.

6.2 Davis Falls

Davis Falls, locally known as Patale Chhango, is a unique waterfall with a fascinating
geological history. Legend has it that a trekker named Davis was swept away by the falls,
leading to its name. The visit to Davis Falls provided insights into the geological features of
the region, highlighting the importance of natural attractions in promoting tourism. Also the
local market at the Davis falls attract tourists with unique local products such as local dresses,
stones and different artifacts.
6.3 Pumdikot Lord Shiva Statue

The visit to the Lord Shiva Statue at Pumdikot offered insights into the religious practices
and cultural significance associated with Hinduism. The Pumdikot Lord Shiva Statue stands
tall as a religious symbol, overlooking the picturesque landscape of Pokhara. The scenes of
whole Pokhara was seen astonishing from the site and also we got chance to interact with
international tourists at the statue.

6.3 Peace Pagoda

The Peace Pagoda is a symbol of peace and harmony, built as part of an initiative by Japanese
Buddhist monks. It offers panoramic views of the Annapurna range and Fewa Lake. The visit
to the Peace Pagoda aimed to provide a global perspective on peace initiatives and the impact
of international collaboration on cultural and religious practices.
6.4 Bindhyabasini Temple

Bindhyabasini Temple is a significant religious site located in Pokhara, Nepal, and holds
cultural and historical importance. Dedicated to the Hindu goddess Bindhyabasini, a
manifestation of Goddess Durga, the temple is a popular pilgrimage destination for locals and
tourists alike. The temple's architecture reflects traditional Nepali style, and its serene
surroundings make it a peaceful retreat. Apart from its religious significance, Bindhyabasini
Temple is also admired for its strategic location, providing visitors with a splendid vantage
point to admire the beauty of Pokhara and its natural wonders.

6.5 Pokhara Street

Pokhara is a picturesque city located in central Nepal, renowned for its breathtaking natural
beauty and serene surroundings. The night visit of Pokhara street gave us opportunity to get
involved in the local street festival and interaction with local culture and traditions and also
the local foods and drinks.
6.6 Ghandruk

Ghandruk, a traditional Gurung village, allowed participants to immerse themselves in the

cultural practices of the indigenous community. Conversations with locals and observations
of daily life underscored the impact of tourism on traditional societies. The exploration of
Ghandruk allowed us to immerse ourselves in the cultural diversity of Nepal, understand the
impact of tourism on traditional communities, and foster cultural appreciation. Trekking ,
horse riding and taking pics wearing local Gurung dresses attracted the attention of internal as
well as external tourists in Ghandruk.

6.7 Manungkot

Manungkot; above the clouds is the place near Damauli Bazar in Tanahun situated at 1080 m
height. The breathtaking view of scenes tha are covered in the river of clouds added an
astonishing memory to our journey. The mesmerizing view of clouds and mountains attracted
many tourists from within and outside of the country.
6.8 Sauraha

Sauraha serves as the gateway to Chitwan National Park, famous for its wildlife and jungle
experiences. It is a hub for adventure tourism in the region. The visit to Sauraha included
engaging in adventure activities such as jungle safaris, engaging in wildlife of Sauraha,
exploring local markets.
7. Activities and workshop
The educational excursion to Pokhara incorporated a variety of activities and workshops
aimed at enhancing the learning experience, fostering engagement, and providing practical
insights into the subjects studied. The specific activities and workshops conducted during
tour are brokendown below;

7.1 Cultural interaction activities in Ghandruk

• Traditional Gurung dress experiance and cultural showcases

• Interaction with villagers to learn about their daily lives and customs

7.2 Educational Session at Prithvi Narayan Campus

• Campus tour and interaction with students and faculty.

• Workshops on educational practices and challenges.
• Campus museum and classroom visit

7.3 Adventure workshop in Sauraha

• Participation in jungle safaris and other adventure activities.

• Explore wildlife information with the help of information provided by guide.

7.4 Involvement in Pokhara street festival

• Participation in street festival

• Interaction with local people
• Interaction with some international tourists from Italy and Hungary
8. Observations and Reflections
The educational excursion to Pokhara provided a platform for participants to observe, reflect,
and gain valuable insights into various aspects of business, culture, and education. The visit
to Ghandruk highlighted the significant impact of tourism on traditional communities. The
village, while benefiting economically, also faced challenges related to preserving its cultural
authenticity. This observation prompted reflections on the delicate balance between economic
development through tourism and the preservation of cultural heritage.

Interactions with students and faculty at Prithvi Narayan Campus showcased the cultural
diversity within the educational setting. We observed how students navigated a blend of
traditional values and modern educational practices. We reflected on the similarities and
differences in educational systems, recognizing the importance of cross-cultural
understanding for effective global collaboration and communication.

The Peace Pagoda visit offered panoramic views of the Annapurna range and Fewa Lake,
emphasizing the interconnectedness of cultures and the significance of international
collaboration. We shared reflections on the impact of global perspectives in fostering peace
and understanding. The experience prompted discussions on the role of cultural exchange in a
globalized world.

The adventure tourism workshop in Sauraha showcased the economic potential of the region.
We observed the popularity of adventure activities among tourists and the positive impact on
the local economy. It reflected on the economic opportunities presented by adventure tourism
and discussed the need for responsible practices to preserve the natural beauty of the region

The educational excursion to Pokhara proved to be a transformative and enriching experience
for all participants, providing a dynamic blend of academic learning, cultural immersion, and
practical insights. The diverse destinations, carefully planned activities, and interactive
workshops contributed to a holistic understanding of business, culture, and education.
Interactions with local communities in Ghandruk and Manungkot facilitated a deep
appreciation for the cultural diversity of Nepal. We gained insights into the challenges and
opportunities faced by traditional communities in the context of increasing tourism. The tour,
especially the visit to the Peace Pagoda, emphasized the importance of global perspectives in
fostering peace and understanding. We recognized the value of cross-cultural communication
and collaboration in an interconnected world. The exploration of Sauraha showcased the
economic potential of adventure tourism. We recognized the positive impact of responsible
tourism practices on the local economy and the importance of preserving natural assets.

The educational excursion to Pokhara achieved its objectives by providing a well-structured

and comprehensive learning experience. The tour not only expanded our academic
knowledge but also instilled a sense of cultural appreciation, global awareness, and a
commitment to responsible and sustainable practices. The memories and lessons gained from
this journey will undoubtedly shape the our perspectives and contribute to our personal and
professional growth in the years to come. The success of the tour lies not only in the
destinations visited but in the meaningful connections forged, the insights gained, and the
lasting impact on each participant's educational journey.

Based on the experiences and observations during the educational excursion to Pokhara, I
would offer several recommendations to enhance future educational tours and optimize the
learning outcomes for participants:

Alignment with Curriculum:

• Ensure a closer alignment of tour destinations and activities with the curriculum. This
will help students to relate theoretical concepts learned in the classroom to real-world
scenarios.

Interactive Sessions:

• Incorporate more interactive sessions, workshops, and discussions with local experts.
This will engage students actively, encouraging them to ask questions and participate
in meaningful dialogues.

Pre-Tour Orientation:

• Conduct comprehensive pre-tour orientation sessions. Provide detailed information

about the destinations, cultural norms, and expected learning outcomes. This will
better prepare students for the educational experience

Incorporate Industry Visits:

• Include visits to local businesses or industries related to the academic focus. This
exposure can offer practical insights into business operations and management
practices, enhancing the relevance of the tour.

Post-Tour Reflection Sessions:

• Schedule post-tour reflection sessions to discuss and share insights gained during the
trip. This will facilitate a deeper understanding of the educational value and
encourage students to articulate their takeaways.

a deeper understanding of the places we visited. Their passion for the subject matter and
willingness to share knowledge enhanced the educational aspects of the tour and made it truly
enlightening.

I want to express my gratitude to my fellow participants for their camaraderie, engagement,

and shared enthusiasm during the tour. The diverse perspectives and interactions added an
invaluable dimension to the overall learning environment.

Additionally, I would like to acknowledge the BBA Coordinator, Mr. Santosh Shrestha and
teachers Chanda Nepali and Anish Karki for their encouragement and support in organizing
