Delhi, India Abstract
“Everything around you is numbers.” Shakuntala Devi.
“Numbers are the highest degree of knowledge. It is knowledge itself.”- Plato

The date, we were born on, was not an accident. Each number in our date of birth is connected with
certain energies and vibrations. The careful study of these universal divine energies can
reveal, who you are, what is your personality, nature, thinking and what is your future in terms of
family, career, relationships and finances etc.
This research paper explores the intricate world of numerology, specifically examining the planetary
number combinations and Yogs as described by Prof. Ashok Bhatia. These combinations show how
planets interact and affect our lives. There are 51 number combinations divided into six distinct parts:
Number Conjunction, Hostile Numbers, Square Aspect, Triangular Relation, Hypotenuse and Diagonal
Relation. These 51 number combinations reveal how the planetary interactions impact the various
aspects of an individual's life.
In this research study, we will study & analyze the number combination or Yogs related to Technical &
Professional Education applicable for Engineering as education and/or career/profession. In this study,
an attempt has been made to analyze the number combinations or Yogs pertinent to Technical
Education and Profession, with a particular emphasis on Engineering and how these numbers in date of
birth can emerge as a directional guide for an individual to choose any specific career/profession (by
studying the patterns of over 1000+ date of births).
By systematically studying these number combinations, this paper aims to provide a deeper
understanding of how numerology can influence educational and career paths in Engineering.
The findings could offer valuable guidance for individuals seeking to align their educational and
professional pursuits with their inherent numerical strengths and planetary influences. However,
individual choice & environmental factors and their impact cannot be ruled out.
The focus of this research study is to study & understand the three specific number combinations/
Yogs, as per Vedic Numerology, identified as especially important and relevant to Engineering
education and careers.

Introduction
Numerology is the science, philosophy and a universal divine language of numbers (1 to 9)
where each number has its own strength, potential, vibratory influence and challenge which
can uncover information about an individual. Based on the belief that a person comes into
this life on a certain date and at a certain time with a certain name, numerology uses numbers
to tell who a person is and can provide astounding insights about the map for his / her life.

Common questions

The research findings suggest that there is a significant correlation between planetary numbers in one's birth grid and their educational paths. For example, specific number combinations such as 1 (Sun) and 9 (Mars) correlate with competencies in engineering and technical education, reflecting inherent traits like leadership and logical prowess . Additionally, the presence or absence of certain yogs in individual numerological profiles can enhance or impede educational pursuits, suggesting that planetary positions could influence predispositions toward various fields of study .

In Vedic astrology, Rahu and Ketu are considered as 'Chaya Grahas' or Shadow Planets, representing the lunar nodes that indicate points where the moon's orbit crosses the sun's path, often suggesting negative influences . In contrast, Sepharial extends the traditional planetary assignments by associating Ketu with number 7, and represents Rahu's influence with a different arrangement altogether in his numerology system. This differs from the typical Vedic association which characterizes these nodes as primarily indicative of life's unexpected challenges and opportunities based on their positions in the birth chart .

The key differences between Sepharial's system and Vedic Numerology include the number assignment for certain planets. In Sepharial's system, 4 corresponds to Sun Negative and 7 to Moon Positive, whereas in Vedic Numerology as interpreted by Prof. Ashok Bhatia, number 4 is assigned to Rahu and 7 to Ketu . This indicates a divergence in aspects that emphasize different celestial influences in personality and destiny .

In the Vedic grid, number 1 is often associated with the Sun, symbolizing leadership and authority, while number 9 represents Mars, indicating courage and strength, suggestive of careers in engineering, surgery, or military services . Number 5, associated with Mercury, denotes communication, trade, and analytical skills. Combinations like 1-9 denote success in independent and authoritative positions, whereas 9-5 indicates success in fields requiring communication and technical skills like engineering or medicine .

The Vedic Grid structures planetary influences through an Ank Chakra or numerical grid, where planets are represented by numbers, unlike Western astrology which primarily uses zodiac signs for delineating planetary positions and their implications. The purpose of the Vedic Grid is to numerically analyze and interpret an individual's innate characteristics and life potential based on the precise positioning of planets as numbers during the birth time . This practice originates from a deeply rooted belief in the numeric representation of celestial energies, emphasizing personalized and temporal influences over broader zodiac traits .

Sepharial integrated numerology with Vedic astrology by basing his numerology system on the Indian Nine Planetary System, and developed it into a 'Grid'. In this system, numbers 1 to 9 are associated with planets like Sun, Moon, Jupiter, etc., similar to Vedic astrology's Navagraha. For example, Sepharial associates number 7 with the Moon (+), which signifies mind, heart, and mother, and numbers are further divided into Spiritual, Emotional, and Physical groups, mirroring the various influences of planets in Vedic astrology . This integration offers a new dimension in understanding planetary effects through numbers, enhancing the interpretation of horoscopes .

In Vedic astrology, 'Chaya Grahas' or Shadow Planets such as Rahu and Ketu signify the intersections of the moon's orbit with the solar path and are often associated with challenges or unforeseen disruptions in a life path . Their presence in a birth chart can indicate potential areas of psychological growth, karmic lessons, or significant turning points that impact personal development and destiny. They emphasize the importance of understanding deeper, perhaps unresolved aspects of one's consciousness and life journey, contributing to more nuanced readings of life potential and challenges .

In Vedic astrology, 'Graha' refers to planets that seize or hold certain aspects of influence over a person's life. These grahas are part of the Navagrahas, which include nine celestial bodies with specific energies. As per Vedic astrology, the positions of these 'Graha' at the time of birth determine various aspects of an individual's life, including personality traits, potential opportunities, and challenges. Grahas influence both positive and negative aspects of life, and their positions are central to interpreting horoscopes or Kundalis .

According to the study, 66% of engineers had applicable Yogs for technical education in their Vedic Birth Grid . This finding implies that there are astrological indicators present at birth which may predispose individuals toward certain career paths, such as engineering. It underscores the potential influence of the arrangement of planets at birth on a person's educational inclinations and professional competencies .

Sepharial's historical journey to India and Egypt in pursuit of astrological knowledge significantly contributed to his development of modern numerology. He synthesized insights from Indian Vedic astrology, particularly the Navagraha system, to expand numerology's depth by incorporating planetary influences and energies into numerical interpretations. Through his 'Kabala of Numbers', Sepharial laid foundational work that broadened the scope of numerological study from simple number analyses to complex evaluations involving spiritual and emotional dimensions grounded in astrological beliefs .
