Education
01. Some people think young people should be required to have full time education until they are
at least 18 years old. To what extent do you agree or disagree? 08-02-24
Considering the rapid growth in most aspects of the world, some people perceive that adolescents need
to pursue formal education until they become young adults. In my view, the opinion above strongly
suggests that education is essential. I will explain some reasons to support my argument.
First of all, high formal education is required to prepare teenagers to be knowledgeable and skillful.
Today, job vacancies mostly have minimum education level requirements because employers prefer to
hire someone who has good logic and specific skills. These can be acquired by studying subjects in
school such as mathematics, foreign language, and science. For example, a job application may require
applicants to have graduated from high school or possess the ability to speak Spanish.
Additionally, schools provide programs for students to seek guidance about their next steps, whether
they choose academic pursuits or employment. Specific teachers are assigned to help students identify
their passions and match them with their capabilities. For instance, if a student from a less privileged
background excels in mathematics, a teacher can suggest pursuing higher education with support from a
scholarship or taking a job that requires strong quantitative skills like cashier or teller positions.
In conclusion, formal education is crucial for adolescents to be well-prepared when they want to pursue
higher education or establish a career. Given this situation, the government should support this by
implementing a program for citizens that makes formal education mandatory and free until a certain
age. Consequently, the program will ensure that schools are adequately equipped, and young people
have easy access to education.
02. A lot of young people do not know how to manage their money when graduating from high
school. What do you think are the reasons? What can be done to teach them this important
skill? 2024
In the modern world, an increasing number of youngsters fail to develop a sensible way of how to deal
with their fortune when they finish secondary school. There are several reasons accountable for this,
and I will discuss how to make them aware of this vital skill.
A number of factors should be responsible for this phenomenon. Firstly, students mainly acquire
academic knowledge, such as math, science and history, in institutions rather than financial skills.
Consequently, they have no idea about how to manage their income and how to save money in the
future. Secondly, many teenagers are so spoiled by their parents in the present day that they do not
care about wealth management. For example, nowadays, parents tend to satisfy whatever their children
ask for, which means that teenagers will no longer treasure what they get because they acquire their
fortune too easily.
There is no doubt that concerted efforts from parents and schools are required to raise awareness of
money management among the young generation. To illustrate, schools should take responsibility to
3
WhatsApp - 01848361793

emphasize the importance of managing wealth, which is essential for students to develop a feasible
practice of how to manage their property. Besides, adults should cultivate their offspring an attitude
that every member of society has the need to earn and spend money after entering the workforce, and
they should be aware of this and use their fortune wisely. For instance, parents should encourage their
children to manage wealth at an early stage and teach them the skills.
In conclusion, the lack of relevant education in institutions and the spoiled love from the family should
be responsible for this problem, and both schools and parents should try their best to impart financial
knowledge to youngsters.
03. In many countries, students' concentration in the classroom has decreased. What are the
reasons for this? What are some possible solutions? 2023
In some nations, students cannot concentrate completely in the classroom and this figure is decreasing. I
think the rules have changed and they do not consider studying as a valuable process and also, they
have been distracted by technology.
To begin with, the education system has changed over these years and the governments introduced
several rules to support pupils, such as, teachers are not allowed to punish children, as a result, the
students do not obey the classroom rules because the power of educators have been limited and
students will not face with really serious consequences. Moreover, the developments in technology
have brought several items, like phones and laptops, and the youth generation finds these types of
equipment more interesting than school lessons so they will not focus completely and their main priority
is their media. For instance, a significant number of game and social media users are young ones and
they mentioned that spending on media is a more enjoyable activity rather than studying.
To tackle this issue urgent action from governments and school managers is needed because, firstly, the
governments have to introduce some limitations for using phones and laptops in the school area and the
students have to use them only for studying. Additionally, authorities have to support their teachers and
let them behave adequately to those children make distractions and ban them from participating in class
or other punishments.
In conclusion, in my opinion, I believe these days students have several distractions such as media and
they can act freely because the rules support their actions, to tackle this problem, we need the
cooperation of communities and some laws to control the use of technology and support educators
more to prevent bad habits of pupils.
04. Some people think that the best way to become successful in life is to get a university
education, whereas others say this is no longer true. Discuss both these views and give your
own opinion.2024
How to achieve success in personal life is always a hot topic. Although people can make achievements
without having an academic qualification, I would argue that higher education is the best choice to
ensure a bright future.
It is true that experience in professional fields and passion can lead to success. Accumulating skills and
experience in a specific area allows people to become experts in this subject and be amply rewarded.
For instance, most football stars have never gone to university. However, their competence in playing
4
WhatsApp - 01848361793
IELTS Pro BD
football and their strategies for winning matches make them successful athletes who can earn
enormous fame and wealth. Besides, passion is also a key factor in achieving one's goal. To give an
illustration, the well-known inventor Edison only finished elementary school, but his enthusiasm for
exploring the electrical world not only made him one of the greatest inventors of the 20th century but
also turned him into a successful businessman.
Despite the benefits of other elements discussed above. I would argue that going to university or college
is the best choice for people. Most importantly, it opens the door to better job opportunities.
Nowadays, most high-skill positions require at least a bachelor's degree in relevant fields. For instance, it
is impossible to become a doctor or an electrical engineer without receiving post-secondary education.
Therefore, having higher education experience allows people to get decent jobs and earn satisfying
salaries. What is more, today's job market is extremely competitive. For one open position, there could
be hundreds of applicants. In this situation, only people with degrees have the chance to win out.
In conclusion, other factors also contribute to success in life, but I believe higher education is the best of
all.
05. Some people think the main purpose of education is to make individuals useful to society;
others say education helps them to achieve personal ambitions. Discuss both views and fiver
your opinion.2024
People have different views about whether the main goal of studying is to make more beneficial
residents for society or whether education contributes to reaching their wishes. While some agree that
educated adults can actualize their ambitions, I believe that academic education can bring up a useful
generation for the countries.
On the one hand, generally, people have some ambitions which have built them since childhood and
think that they will be successful if they reach those wishes. They try to run in their ambition road until
they reach the target. Additionally, it is accepted by the majority of individuals that educated people to
achieve more goals in their lives. So, parents encourage their children to continue their education in
order to achieve their own aims. A case in point is those students who continued their education not for
the purpose of success but just to reach their wishes.
On The other hand, people should be taught to value others' attempts rather than their achievements.
Therefore, the younger generation will distinguish the difference between ambitions and success.
Moreover, through academic education students learn morality alongside their subjects which will
influence their future manner in their personal life. The educated people without moral values will not
be completely beneficial for their country. For instance, we can see some high-level people in society
whose behavior makes them unlikely among others.
Consequently, although some people think that reaching ambitions is the main aim of education, I am of
the opinion that education helps people to be more beneficial for society.
06. Some people believe that it is important to introduce tax education in secondary school. Other
people think that it is a waste of valuable school time.

A bunch of people thinks that it is crucial to introduce tax education in secondary school. While also, it is
considered others how wasting valuable school time to teach that thing. I will discuss each side in the
following essay.
As the introduction, everyone is free to expel their money to move freely everywhere. Therefore, they
need to know about the tax behind them. During adolescence, secondary schoolers sometimes desire to
buy items of personal interest, even just for the sake of prestige. The more luxurious the goods, such as
Apple-branded gadgets, for example, the higher the tax. Likewise, when buying imported goods that
look more stylish and prestigious. Through this fact can be concluded that this is why some people
believe in the importance of tax education in their teenage years.
On the other hand, many things are more critical than only about tax education. For some people,
schools should concentrate more on general financial education to be included in their curriculum and
training about desires handling from teens, even at early ages. In fact, in Indonesia, if you are in the
social studies department (for high schoolers), you are taught about economics as a whole and about
handling finances. In this subject, students are also taught about investments that can be made by
teenagers from their age. Although what is unfortunate is that those who are majoring in natural
sciences need to learn this.
In conclusion, although tax and finance education are important, schools and also government officials
need to think about other things that are also essential in everyday life to be included in the curriculum,
especially in secondary school. However, I believe that we need to learn about finances and taxes from
an early age, not only in secondary school.
07. Some people believe that studying at university or college is the best route to a successful
career, while others believe that it is better to get a job straight after school.
Universities are not for everyone. There are some people who consider starting a career without having
a top-tier education as a better alternative for young people, and a faction maintains that campus life
can benefit one most. Indeed, skipping college may offer some useful assets, whereas one could miss
certain advantages that only universities can provide.
On the one hand, getting a job right after school has its bright side. The most prominent is that stepping
into society earlier can mean a wider range of choices, especially when competition within the labor
market keeps intensifying. By entering employment sooner, individuals can support families, gain
practical experience, and make attempts in varied fields, which might enhance their career
development. It is common for a job candidate with multiple PHD degrees to find out that the
interviewer is a fellow high school classmate. Moreover, the cases of various tech giants like Facebook
and Apple can further prove the point. Thus, choosing work over education may present advantages.
On the other hand, there are unique perks on campus that society cannot supply. First, a university
encompasses an array of resources, from enormous libraries to discernible gurus, that any inquisitive
young person would pine for. Developing young minds can immerse themselves in the universe of
knowledge and accumulate invaluable insights that can assist their future choices. Second, higher
education may open a window to a bigger world for learners. Universities like Oxford, Harvard, and
Columbia contain students from all over the world, allowing people with various backgrounds to engage
6

in conversations that could significantly dismiss extant prejudice and discrimination. Finally, bonds and
relationships formed on campus, such as internships and industry partnerships, can be helpful for career
advancement.
To summaries, both paths have their merits, as higher education supplies more knowledge and getting a
job directly after school could generate more alternatives. To make a final decision, one must consider
personal experience, career goals, and preferences before jumping to a conclusion.
08. In some countries university students live at home with their family while they study, whereas
in other countries students attend university in another city.2024
Do you think the benefits of living away from home during university outweigh the disadvantages?
In some nations, college pupils decide to live with their families by choosing to study in local institutes,
while others choose to leave their families to study in other places. Certainly, leaving home to get a
higher education can obtain many pros, rather than cons, because it plays a vital role in the period of
growth in teenagers' lives.
To begin with, when leaving the local area, students face the opportunity to study in the top campuses
of the world. Not all cities provide individuals with brilliant universities and proper education, but by
allowing pupils to choose institutes abroad they can get to study in the best ones. Thus, when
graduating from foreign universities, individuals have the opportunity to have open doors for their
careers in well-developed countries with good life conditions and high salaries, which is additionally
beneficial for their future independent lives.
Furthermore, living away from the family appears to make teenagers independent and responsible for
their actions and teaches them how to take care of their selves without their parents' control. Indeed,
they will have to control their actions by managing their extra-curricular activities, budget, and time. In
addition, learning about new cultures, traditional holidays, food and language has superior benefits for a
growing student. For example, students who lived in India and moved to the USA for educational
purposes were pleased by trying new food, which has taste different from traditional Indian dishes.
In conclusion, leaving home for education can considerably obtain more benefits than drawbacks due to
the list of new opportunities, such as the development of responsibility and independence, new
experience in learning a new nation and gaining knowledge on how to adapt to a new environment.
09. Some people think the main purpose of education is to make individuals useful to society;
others say education helps them to achieve personal ambitions. Discuss both views and fiver

order to achieve their own aims. A case in point is those students who continued their education not for

10. It is the responsibility of schools to teach children good behavior in addition to provide formal
education. To what extent do you agree or disagree? 25.07.24
It is widely debated whether schools should solely focus on communicating formal education or also
take responsibility for teaching good actions to children. In my view, I totally agree that schools should
play a significant role in teaching good behaviour to offspring, in addition to providing formal education.
Firstly, educational institutions are a child's first formal environment outside the home. They provide an
opportunity for children to interact with others, learn social skills, and develop healthy relationships.
Besides, institutions should teach them about appropriate behaviour in different contexts, such as
respecting their friends, showing empathy, and resolving conflicts peacefully. As a result, these lessons
benefit the children's social and emotional well-being and help create a positive and productive learning
environment. For example, a school may have a lesson on showing respect for peers, where students
are taught the importance of using polite language and listening to peers.
Secondly, schools are uniquely positioned to identify behavioural problems in offspring and provide
timely solutions. They may struggle with emotional and behavioural issues, which can affect their
academic performance and social relationships. In school terms, they can play an important role in
identifying suchlike issues and providing appropriate support, such as consultant and therapy which can
help offspring overcome their problems and develop good actions, ultimately benefiting their academic
and personal growth.
In conclusion, while it is irrefutable that academic knowledge is a factor that has a decisive role to play in
educational conditions, I would contend that it is imperative that good behavioural training aspects be
taken into consideration equally.
11. Some people believe that it is better language students in small classes. others think the
number of people in the classes does not matter. Discuss both these views and give your own
opinion. 01.06.24
It is argued by some individuals that linguistic skills can be improved easily in small classes, while other
categories of humans believe that the number of people is not important to learn language. I think it
really depends on the nature of every person.
On the one hand, some individuals who are not sociable prefer to study in small classes, therefore their
method for learning is up to small places where students are not a lot. In other words, these people can
8
WhatsApp - 01848361793

learn easily any kind of language since there is no competition among students. Furthermore, these
humans desire to draw the teacher`s attention carefully and to have more spare time to check their
homework, after that they can obviously overcome any difficulties in the process of learning. For
example, in some countries, students who study in smaller au make up the highest score in language
exams.
On the other hand, others assume that the number does not play a major role in learning a language.
Some people who adapt to all environments can simply learn a language even in an awful sphere. These
people want to be educated in a competitive atmosphere therefore if they compete consecutively with
each other, they will enhance their linguistic skills without difficulties. For instance, in the myriad of
developed countries, the approaches to learning a language are relatively incredible therefore every
kind of class is prepared for the different kinds of people who prefer to be taught in small classes or
crowded classes.
In conclusion, there are both sides of view are compared with each other since I think these two
opinions are extremely important in the learning process due to people`s characteristics.
12. Some people think secondary school students should study international news as one of their
subjects, while others believe that this is a waste of valuable school time. Discuss both views
and give your own opinion. 08.06.24
The verdict of discussing international news in secondary schools often divides opinions. Some people
contend that students on that level of education should study global affairs, while others believe it is
unnecessary. This essay will discuss both arguments.
To begin with, studying international issues will elevate critical thinking about important global events.
This is because structured learning in academic circumstances will catalyze students' willingness to
engage in a discourse related to current affairs. For example, a group of kids who deliberately discuss
climate change worldwide have a deeper understanding of the issue compared to kids who do not study
it in classes. Thus, introducing multinational news to scholars helps them to advance their global
awareness and analytical skills.
On the other hand, certain fields of study might not need a deeper understanding of international
matters. Moreover, they will be able to acquire such information independently, thus a dedicated time
at school is urgently not needed. For instance, students who aspire to be scientists get more benefits by
spending their time in laboratories instead of reading and discussing political issues unrelated to their
future careers. Therefore, a dedicated class merely to discuss worldwide issues is not universally pivotal
because that information will not be needed to help them become science experts.
To conclude, the discussion on teaching worldwide news in secondary schools has been divided into
some people who reckon that scholars should learn them as one of their subjects and others who argue
for that. From my point of view, I believe that world affairs still needs to be introduced as an elective
course to those who aspire to build careers in social sciences, whereas those who are not interested in it
are not mandatory to attend the class.

13. The typical teaching situation of a teacher and students in the class will not exist by
the year 2050 to what extent do you agree or disagree? 28.06.24
There is a belief that the current interactions in a classroom will disappear in 2050. The writer strongly
agrees with this statement as there will be more technology involved and different methods of teaching
will be adopted.
When it comes to education, modern inventions may be incorporated in the near future. In other words,
robots and AI technology will be used in many schools to assist students in their studies as well as
reduce the amount of work the teacher has. Furthermore, because children are becoming more and
more familiar with these types of man-made assistants, they are more likely to adapt easily to these
changes provided that they are guided by their teachers. As a result, not only the academic performance
of the young will be improved, but also the educators will handle less stress.
Another key development that might become true in 2050 is the enhanced efficiency of lessons. This is
because both students and teachers are switching to digital-based education, which means that
everyone in school will use smart devices such as phones and tablets to interact with each other.
Moreover, teachers can take advantage of the aforementioned devices to help them convey the
knowledge to students without having to use physical chalk and board. Therefore, all students can feel
free to answer the questions without being left out.
In conclusion, the conventional ways of teaching will soon be removed to make room for new
renovations, including the development of artificial intelligence and interactions through screens. Thus,
both youngsters and educators will receive numerous benefits.
14. Some college freshmen find that the courses they choose are not suitable for them. What are
the causes of this? What can be done to solve the problem? 29.06.24 india
Choosing modules is one of the most important decisions a college freshman can make as it will have a
lasting impact on their personal and professional life. However, there are some of them who are facing a
dilemma in this decision-making process. This essay will analyze why and offer some possible solutions
to the problem.
Many students become undecided or make the wrong choice when selecting what they really want to
learn, which is simply because their decisions are based on emotion or a very limited set of criteria. They
may follow their friends or please their parents to choose certain courses without understanding their
true needs; they may focus on the less important aspects such as the degree of difficulty for learning,
personal development, etc. For example, a great number of students are taking employment
opportunities as the only benchmark for choosing modules. Due to the current financial crisis caused by
the economic slowdown, it is logical to take job prospects into consideration, but choosers should also
weigh the pros and cons in making final decisions according to more factors involved.
In order to engage in appropriate modules, freshmen need to equip themselves with self-awareness in
the selection, which entails recognizing their interests, personality traits, capabilities and willingness on
their own. The more overlap there is among these aspects, the more satisfaction there is in future
studies. As a result, they should bear in mind that the demands of the labour market always change with
10

time passing by, which means it is definitely not the only contributor to decision-making. Only with the
ability to adapt to interests and growths can someone stand out in their career. For this reason, the key
to a wise choice should hinge on the possibility of encouraging students to remain curious, value
diversity in opinions, think critically, and communicate effectively. Therefore, learners cannot only enjoy
learning those lessons but could seek out the right path in their future careers if they make the right
choice.
In conclusion, freshmen who are well-informed and self-knowledge about themselves are more likely to
satisfy their choices.
15. In some countries, more and more adults are continuing to live with their parents
even after they have completed education and found jobs. Do the advantages
outweigh the disadvantages? 29.06.24 india
In modern society, it is argued that many young people keep staying with their parents after finishing
their education and starting their own career path. The writer of this essay thinks that the benefits of
forging a strong bond between family members and saving money outweigh the drawbacks of being
over-reliant.
It is vital to understand that staying in the parent's house is one way to help cement relationships
between members of a family. In other words, there will be more opportunities for regular face-to-face
interactions and intimate conversations. For example. a newly graduated student can get advice, discuss
problems at work and confide in possible setbacks to their parents. This kind of conversation will likely
help build confidence which is widely regarded as a key to success in an increasingly competitive
business world. Moreover, saving money is the main factor which influences the young to be closer to
their parents. For instance, there are lots of costs to be considered, including rent costs, and utility bills.
It is apparent that it pressured them unintentionally and made them anxious about their financial
situation.
In contrast, some believe that those who refuse to live on their own are more likely to experience a
prolonged period of immaturity. To put it simply, people who remain at home are usually exempt from
mundane tasks such as preparing meals and doing laundry. As a result, they depend too much on their
parents and could have trouble developing the capacity for self-reliance that is essential for personal
and career success. However, it can easily be treated by setting up a time schedule for doing chores with
the primary purpose is helping the parents.
In conclusion, although many are prevented from leading a self-sufficient life, adults might be better
supported emotionally when staying at home and saving for the financial situation.
16. Some people believe that studying history is very important and we must study the
past to understand the present. Others say that it is useless and should not be studied
at all. Discuss both views and give your own opinion. 03.08.24
Issues related to learning history are frequently discussed these days. Although some people believe
that studying history plays an essential role in the modern world, others would argue that history should
not be learned because it seems waste of time. Both sides of view and the explanation why I prefer
learning history is still crucial for most people in the world today.
11

On the one hand, there are various advantages relevant to studying history and people should be
learned. The principal reason is that historical data allows humans to acquire more deeply data about
their identities as well as their nations' revolution. This means that the education of history has a
positive result in the development of a nation in terms of learning terrible mistakes from the old
generations and getting better the solution of the problems. To exemplify, people today have totally
known that solving problems with wars has a terrible impact on both sides, thus, crucial summits or
international negotiations should be applied in some arguments between the country.
On the other hand, some opponents argue that knowing historical moments is not essential for people
in the digital era. The main reason is that many situations cannot be compared with the past due to
occur in different conditions; such as times and places. To explain, things have changed over recent
years because of the rapid improvement of new technology. Hence, humans cannot compare and make
decisions by using the method from the prior era. For instance, the world today do not use human for
fighting in a war, so learning about warriors is not significant for most citizens.
All things considered; I am of the opinion that learning historical matters is significant for citizens in
order to know more deeply information about their nations. Therefore, governments and
correspondents should carefully have an awareness of this topic as well as support historical education
as much as possible.
17. Some people believe teenagers should focus on all subjects equally, whereas other
people think that they should concentrate on only those subjects that they find
interesting. Discuss both views and give your own opinion.14.09.24
It is hard to overstate the importance of schooling: it decides what kind of person we become, what kind
of career we will have, and ultimately what kind of life we will lead. Therefore, what disciplines that
students should or should not give precedence to is necessarily a perennial debate. Some assert that
they should prioritize all subjects that they learn, while others state that learners only need to focus on
those which they are enthusiastic about. Both viewpoints are justifiable, but I personally lean towards
the former.
On the one hand, it is understandable why some people think that adolescents ought to pay attention to
some certain subjects in which they feel interested. Chief of these is that when they are allowed to learn
what subjects they are keen on, they are inclined to study in earnest and apply themselves to getting
good grades. For instance, a student with a strong interest in literature is likely to read more books,
analyze them in detail, and perhaps even compose essays on the topics they raise. Such interest and
enthusiasm can blossom into a lifelong passion for learning, which will undoubtedly bring about far-
reaching advantages in a person’s life.
While it is essential for young people to be permitted to pursue their interests, it is also necessary for
them to receive a well-rounded education. Studying multiple courses can help students identify their
strengths and weaknesses, enabling them to pursue future education and career prospects that match
their interests and abilities. For instance, a student who succeeds in math and physics could develop a
passion for engineering or technology, whereas a student who excels in languages and social sciences
might discover a calling in law or public service. Additionally, a well-rounded education may assist young
people in developing a broader perspective on the world, leading to better empathy and understanding
12

for various perspectives. This is particularly essential in today’s globalized society, where cross-cultural
communication and cooperation are becoming increasingly critical.
In conclusion, although there are reasonable arguments on both sides of the debate, I believe that
young people should devote equal time to all subjects.
18. Some people think that we should invent a new language for international communication. Do
the benefits of this outweigh the problems? 28.12.24
Globalization has made the world increasingly interconnected, leading to a growing demand for
effective international communication. While some propose the invention of a new universal language
to facilitate this, the idea comes with significant challenges that may outweigh its potential benefits.
On the one hand, creating a new language specifically for global communication could bring some
advantages. A neutral, universally designed language could eliminate the dominance of any single
culture or nation, ensuring equality among speakers from different linguistic backgrounds. This would
encourage greater inclusivity and fairness in international discourse. Additionally, a single global
language would simplify communication in various domains, such as trade, diplomacy, and travel,
fostering greater understanding and cooperation across nations.
However, the challenges of implementing such a language are immense. Firstly, the practical difficulty of
convincing billions of people worldwide to learn a completely new language cannot be underestimated.
Many individuals would resist abandoning their native languages or even allocating time and resources
to learning an additional one. Secondly, the process of developing a universally accepted language
would likely be fraught with political and cultural disagreements, as different groups might dispute the
inclusion of certain elements.
Moreover, language is deeply tied to culture, heritage, and identity. Forcing the adoption of a universal
language could erode linguistic diversity, leading to the loss of unique cultural expressions and
traditions. Instead of fostering unity, such an approach might create resentment or cultural alienation
among communities who feel that their heritage is being sidelined.
In conclusion, while a new language for international communication could theoretically promote global
understanding and equality, the logistical and cultural barriers involved are significant. Furthermore, the
risk of undermining linguistic diversity and cultural identity makes this proposal less desirable. Thus, the
benefits of such an idea are outweighed by the problems it would likely create.
19. Despite greater access to school education, many adults today still cannot read or write. How
does this affect them in life? What can government do to help them?
Despite the increased availability of formal education, illiteracy remains a significant issue for many
adults worldwide. This inability to read or write profoundly impacts their daily lives, limiting
opportunities and perpetuating cycles of poverty. However, governments can take effective measures to
address this challenge.
Illiteracy presents numerous obstacles for adults in both their personal and professional lives. First, it
restricts employment opportunities, as most jobs today require basic literacy skills to understand
instructions, complete paperwork, or operate technology. Consequently, illiterate individuals often find
themselves in low-paying, unstable jobs, which perpetuates financial insecurity. Additionally, illiteracy

creates barriers to independence. Tasks such as reading medicine labels, understanding official
documents, or navigating public transport become daunting challenges. This dependency on others can
lead to feelings of inadequacy and social exclusion, further impacting mental well-being.
Governments can play a pivotal role in mitigating adult illiteracy. One effective approach is to provide
accessible adult education programs. Evening or weekend literacy classes, tailored to fit into the
schedules of working adults, can make learning more manageable. Additionally, such programs should
be offered at minimal or no cost to ensure that financial constraints do not become a barrier.
Governments can also partner with non-profit organizations and private sectors to launch awareness
campaigns highlighting the importance of literacy and encouraging individuals to participate in these
programs. Furthermore, integrating technology, such as mobile learning apps and online courses, can
make education more accessible to individuals in remote or underserved areas.
In conclusion, illiteracy significantly hampers adults’ ability to lead independent and fulfilling lives,
limiting both their economic prospects and social interactions. Governments must prioritize accessible
education initiatives, leveraging technology and partnerships, to combat this issue effectively. By doing
so, societies can empower individuals and foster greater equality.
20. Caring for children is probably the most important job in any society. Because of this, all
mothers and fathers should be required to take a course that prepares them to be good
parents. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this view?
Experts throughout the world have debated for years on the upbringing of children. However, some
argue that raising a child is the most crucial role of parents and they should take lectures to learn good
parenting. I totally agree with this statement and this essay will discuss this viewpoint in the upcoming
paragraphs with relevant examples.
The most compelling point to advocate admissions in courses is to develop good parenting skills. To add
to it, lectures help mothers and parents learn about the difficulties they will be going to face. Not only
will it teach problems, but also provide methods about how to react in such situations. Moreover, it
helps them to analyze the growth of children as well as their interests, talents and skills, subsequently,
youth could choose their goals easily and undoubtedly. For example, in the United States, especially in
Michigan State, parenting courses are mandatory to take in order to raise a child, because the state is
focusing on children’s early life to make them better.
Furthermore, adding more valid reasons to support this perspective, gives a chance to parents to know
how their role is vital to understand the basics of parenting in order to shape their children’s future. In
other words, it makes more impact on toddlers while teaching them good habits in childhood, because
of their more grasp power. Besides this, classes give knowledge about nutrition value. To make it simple,
protein, carbs and fats are necessary for a human being and if given in the right proportion in a balanced
meal, help in achieving good health and keep them fit physically and mentally. For instance, Mohammad
Ali’s father was a sportsperson and to make his sons like himself he gave them a proper diet from birth.
In a nutshell, classes about fostering are needed to develop skills in upbringing as well as to know about
skills and talents. Also, helps in shaping the future by teaching discipline as well as making them fit by
learning about a balanced diet.

Government Spending
01. Some people think it is the government's responsibility to pay for the health care and education
for their people, while other believe it is not the government's responsibility. Discuss both views
and write your opinion.2024
Some people contend that it is the government's authority to financially support people's health
concerns and education, whilst others argue that it is rather an individual's duty. I personally align with
the former opinion as I believe it is the authority's burden to provide basic needs and protection for
their people who cannot specifically protect themselves.
On the one hand, some argue that the government should not bear the sole burden of funding
healthcare and education due to pressing global priorities. They contend that diverting resources to
cover these expenses could strain the government's finances, impeding its ability to address critical
infrastructure projects and maintain diplomatic relations. This perspective highlights the multifaceted
responsibilities governments face, suggesting that expecting them to cover healthcare and education
costs may be impractical.
On the other hand, proponents of government support argue that it is essential for ensuring the well-
being of all citizens. They assert that financial assistance for vulnerable groups, such as the elderly or
disabled, is crucial as they may struggle to secure employment. For example, without adequate support,
these individuals may resort to illegal means of survival, posing a threat to the country's economic
stability. For these reasons, they advocate for government intervention to safeguard people's health and
educational needs.
In conclusion, while funding healthcare and education may pose financial challenges for governments, I
believe that it is their responsibility to prioritize the basic needs of their citizens. By providing support in
these areas, governments can ensure the overall welfare and prosperity of society.
02. Governments should fund scientific research rather than commercial organizations. To what
extent do you agree or disagree with the statement.
It is argued that sponsoring scientific investigations should be more prioritized by government than
giving away funds to commercial organization. In this essay I agree with this statement to the extent
that injecting funds into research institutions might be more perspectival beneficial for further political
development of the country. I believe this kind of investment planning can result in both: the formation
of more prestigious public image of the country and stability of inner governmental growth.
Doubtless, research centers and scientific success have always been major signifiers of high-developed
countries. In this way, the ability to realize outstanding results in science is the tip of the iceberg;
usually, this is the result of the complex system of factors: highly-functioning educational system, as well
as secure social policy, guarantees and accessibility of all sorts of resources for scientific research. For
instance, over the span of first quarter of the 21st century the list of top countries, the most desirable
for emigration and investments, were Germany and the US, known for their well-structured and highly
competitive research institutions.

Whilst the prestige of the country dice by worldwide recognition of its research institutions is a legit
reason to boost it with investments, the less obvious but still crucial cause to financially prioritize
research over commercial organization is development potential for governments. As far as investigating
institutions are capable to educate and gather the vibrant community of the potential political elite of
the country, it is also an excellent source of analyzing governmental data and statistic to uncover
potential risks or successful strategies. As a relative example, I would provide the case of Kyiv School of
Economics, the professionals of which over the last 10 years have been working on two main tasks:
forming next generation of the Ukrainian governmental elite and investigating the most productive
political models in Eastern Europe in 21st century in a cooperation with Ukrainian Counsil. Thus, the
program activity of this research institution positively impacts the governmental growth of Ukraine,
which was demonstrated in their recently published statistic.
03. Some people think the government should provide free housing, while others believe it is not the
government’s responsibility. Discuss both views and give your opinion.
Although some suppose that the government should take the responsibility of providing people with
free housing, others, including myself, are of the opinion that it should not be one of the government's
responsibilities. In the following essay, I will investigate both sides, and I also express my opinion.
To begin with, some claim that it is the responsibility of the government to provide people with free
accommodation. I agree that this measure reduces the social gap in society. Many people who are living
in big cities are deprived of having decent houses. This government's measure reduces the number of
homeless people. This action can alleviate poverty in a country and disadvantaged people have places to
live like other people. Consequently, the difference between different classes of people will shrink.
Secondly, cities will have more harmony. Building many houses for people requires a considerable
planning and discipline, which can be done by professional engineers. They can design houses to be
more harmonious with regard to cities' landforms.
On the other hand, there is an idea, which I also side with, that providing people with free housing is not
the responsibility of the government. At first, I believe that the government should just introduce some
rules and regulations to facilitate the process of house building. For example, people can take loans to
purchase a place to live. Secondly, it is a huge responsibility to provide many houses for people, and it is
needed to allocate a significant budget for the free housing plans. This can increase inflation rate in a
country and cause other economic issues in turn.
To sum up, while others believe that free housing is one of the government's responsibilities, others
maintain that the government should not be responsible for this. Nevertheless, I am of the opinion that
the government should just support people in the process of housing such as offering loans, and if the
government takes this heavy responsibility, people will suffer from inflation in late years.

04. Some people think it is more important to spend money on roads and motorways than on public
transport systems such as railways and trams. To what extent do you agree or disagree?
Some opinions are held that spending money on motorways and roads is more crucial than using it on
public transport infrastructure. As for me, I strongly disapprove of this point of view, since the latter one
plays a much more important role in domestic delivery and time saving for commuters than the former
one.
It must be acknowledged that railway and tram systems are crucial to transporting goods domestically.
This is because, trains or means of transport that use railways commonly have a better capacity than
ones that travel on the roads, particularly with the capability of joining multiple containers with each
other. By taking advantage of this superior characteristic of trains and other kinds of vehicle that uses
railways, businesses can move a larger volume of goods that they need to various destinations inside the
country, whilst proving this is the most effective way to transport products domestically. For instance, a
train with ten containers joined can deliver ten times the quantity of product than a van travelling on
the road.
On the other hand, investing in those mentioned kinds of transport is much more worthwhile because it
can help save time for people to travel between two distances. To explain this, trams or trains are
methods of travelling that rarely suffer from traffic congestion because their system is strictly controlled
with precise timing and accurate schedules to avoid any inconveniences when travelling. Without traffic
congestion, these vehicles can help transport anyone to their wanted destination perfectly on time with
no time wasted waiting. Another example of this is when cars commuting on roads have to wait for a
long time to get out of traffic, while it is no need for trains.
In conclusion, I approve of the view that spending subsidies on railway transportation is utterly
important because it brings a double benefit of effective domestic export and time-efficient travelling.
05. Some people think that governments should give financial support to creative artists such as
painters and musicians. Others believe that creative artists should be funded by alternative
sources. Discuss both views and give your own opinion.
Allocating subsidies to artists by governments is an arguable debate subject. Many believe that financial
support is a significant responsibility that governments should undertake, however, others deem that
ministers cannot be a source of money for supporting artists. I firmly opine that governments should
take action to curb financial worries.
To begin with, a plethora of people have an opinion that earmarking money to artists is a waste of
resources because they should be funded by alternative sources. It is undeniable that this argument can
be extended by emphasizing the importance of third-party companies which play a pivotal role in
addressing financial struggles for painters, musicians, etc. To cite an example, there are several contests
about painting which are sponsored by financially vigor firms. So, this exemplifies that while having
enough opportunities from these types of companies, governments are not needed to earmark
subsidies for artists to alleviate certain issues.
17

On the contrary, it is unavoidable to have some affirmations about people who deem that governments
should support artists financially. To explain, this idea comes from that artists cannot be able to afford in
their lives without having money adequately. For instance, several fields are not revered, but require a
big talent, and is feasible to promulgate cultural values and history to the world. I believe that it is
obligatory to allocate money to these fields to motivate them along with promoting culture.
To conclude, while people are on the side that funding artists is a waste of money, supporting them in
any country is essential, and I believe governments should take action in terms of money.
06. In many countries, governments spend large sums of money on the arts and this is supported by
some taxpayers as worthwhile. Others, however, think that this money would be better spent on
health and education. Discuss both views and give your opinion.
In most countries, Tax paying people are investing huge amounts of money and support in the arts while
others think that can invest and improve human wellness and education systems. In my opinion, I
believe supporting the nature of arts as well as the betterment of health and education is vital for a
nation.
To begin with, there are various types of art present in this world. In fact, for some states paintings and
sculptures are the backbone of their tourist attraction. In addition to that, it speaks about the
architecture and literature of the nations; it also describes more about popular or everyday practices of
lifestyle. However, this development gives enough observation to tourism from many parts of the globe,
so this leads to one of additional income for the government. For instance, Turkey is the best place to
visit; to get a dash of the middle east coupled with history and art, with the Eastern Roman Empire art
museum. Thus, spending money on historical improvement will make a healthier community.
On the other hand, some people believe that there should be well-organized tuition standards and well-
being systems. Indeed, ministries should have acted on improving the teaching qualities and medical
structures. Moreover, local officials should arrange free campaigns to maintain wellness in society.
Likewise, promoting health care services around the clock for most of the remote communities. Besides,
to benefit students, provide some scholarship programs to manage their fees; also reduce the school fee
in public schools to educate many rural areas. Because of those reasons, it is necessary to allocate some
funds for national upgrading.
In conclusion, it is notable to allocate money which is beneficial for both people and territory;
furthermore, it gives an immense response to the ruling party and their governing management. I
believe that proper spending on finances is still the best way to serve the community.
07. Most developed countries spend a large proportion of their health budgets on expensive medical
technology and procedures. This money should be spent instead on health education to keep
people well. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this opinion?
Governments struggle with the allocation of resources in order to provide goods and services to
communities. Especially, Wealthy Countries allocate an important part of their budgets to health. The
emergence of different diseases because of contamination of the environment and improvement of the
average age of individuals bring extra charges to the country's budget. The main purpose of every
community is to reduce payment for health. Therefore, they support activities to produce new

technologies and methods. Although some believe education can help governments to improve
wellness, I consider there are more spaces to fill.
After the industrial revolution production processes changed. For example, companies changed
manufacturing procedures to produce more goods. For example, row materials are processed with
different chemical materials like crude oil, coal and industrial poisons. Additionally, more fertilizers and
pesticides are used to increase agricultural production to ensure nourishment. Moreover, the average of
people is higher than past due to technological improvements in the medical area and new discoveries
of treatments. As a result, different kinds of diseases and supporting elders have impacted the
government's health budgets.
On the other hand, an eminent part of developed society believes education is important for being
healthy. The main idea is educated community can avoid diseases and be able to treat themselves
against illness. To illustrate, the risk of cancer may be reduced by true education. Besides, the
community can be informed about the potential risk of the viruses to stop contagious pandemics.
Despite the efficiency of education, the protection of the world can help individuals to decrease the
number of plagues. For instance, healthy habitat ensures a healthy diet. İn this context, the risk of
illnesses can be minimized.
İn conclusion, providing resources to the community so that not increase health problems for developed
countries is crucial. Education is not the main way to reduce charges. I thought, that protected nature is
the most powerful factor to help health balance.
08. Some people argue that it is the government's responsibility to transport children to school while
others believe that parents should do that. Discuss both views and give your opinion.
It is said that the government should be in charge of kids' transportation, while others think that
mothers and fathers have to take their children to school themselves. This essay will make the case that
although parents' workload will be lighter if kids ride the school bus, creating a family bond by driving
them to school every day is more essential.
On the one hand, letting minors go to school by bus will put less burden on their parents. That is to say
that adults can save a lot of time to prepare for their work since they don't have to spend an hour just to
take their boys or girls to school. For example, in the United States, most students of the country
commute to school by government transportation on a daily basis, and this results in the punctuality of
office workers who have kids. However, I do not agree with this idea as parents' company is very
important to children's growth.
On the other hand, adults can make a strong connection with children by accompanying them on their
way to school. This is something that can only be accomplished through the togetherness of family

members because when going together, the younger and the older can communicate and share their
feelings with each other. The youngsters then will feel that they are protected by their parents,
encouraging the share of emotions. For instance, many pupils in Vietnam who are driven to class by
their mom or dad said that they can talk about any topic with their parents at ease. I totally agree with
this idea because being well connected with adults at home is very necessary for the grown-up process
of juveniles.
In conclusion, even though transporting children to school by bus can reduce the strain that is put on
parents, a family bond and connection between mom, dad and son or daughter are more important.
09. Is teaching people over 65 to use computers the best way to spend government money? To what
extent do you agree? 28.09.24
It is widely thought that providing free education for using computers for elderly residents is the best
way to spend the national budget. However, I strongly disagree with this argument for several reasons.
Granted, one might argue that various aspects of one country could benefit from teaching citizens over
65 years old to use computers. This is predicated on the assumption that getting proficiency in computer
skills could help seniors to be more self-reliant. This, according to this theory, results in elderly people
not depending on their sons, daughters or grandchildren. However, this only works if they need to use
computer skills for many complicated purposes, for example in the form of calculating a complex
worksheet or designing a movie with a lot of effects. Meanwhile, some elderly people would want to
enjoy their time with their friends rather than doing these tasks. Furthermore, they could use
smartphones which are simpler to do many tasks such as writing an email, reading the news on the
internet or booking an appointment with a doctor. There are convincing reasons to say that
governments should not invest in offering free courses to teach seniors to use computers.
On the other hand, I believe that governments need to allocate their budget to address such problems
being more than important and urgent. Firstly, the national budget should be spent on developing the
educational system to cater for children under 18 years old. Once one child is equipped with good skills
and knowledge, he or she could contribute to the development of different aspects. Therefore,
governments would not need to offer free computer lessons when they would be elderly people in the
future. Secondly, governments could invest a huge amount in tackling environmental issues as they
would have more effect on a lot of people. There are compelling pieces of evidence to say that
governments have many emergency tasks rather than spending their attention as well as budget on
teaching seniors to use computers.
In conclusion, I firmly believe that teaching people who are over 65 years old to use computers is not
the best way to allocate the national budget because they might not need this skill to serve their lives
better whereas governments have such urgent problems which must be addressed as soon as possible.
10. As housing is a basic need for people, the government should provide free housing for everyone
who cannot afford it. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

should offer it freely for those who are economically disadvantaged. I wholeheartedly agree with this
sentiment.
20

I approve of the notion that free housing can lead to enhanced societal stability, which subsequently
fosters national progress. In many societies, homelessness and housing insecurities plague the
population, causing ripples of discontent and disenfranchisement. Ensuring everyone has shelter, a
direct impact would be a reduction in street crimes, as desperation often drives people to unlawful acts.
For instance, countries with robust social housing programs, like Denmark, report lower rates of
vagrancy-related crimes. Additionally, a stable living situation can enhance individuals' mental and
emotional well-being, leading to more productive and content citizens. As more people become
productive, it contributes to the broader development and prosperity of a nation.
I concur that providing free housing can also result in a boost to economic mobility, paving the way for a
more equitable society. When people aren’t burdened by exorbitant rents or the threat of eviction, they
can allocate resources to education and skill development. This alignment of priorities leads to a more
skilled workforce. For example, in nations where housing is heavily subsidized, such as in certain Nordic
countries, there is a higher percentage of the population pursuing higher education and vocational
training. As these individuals climb the socioeconomic ladder due to their enhanced skills, it reduces
wealth disparities and fosters a more harmonious and balanced society.
On the other hand, I disagree with the proposition solely due to the potential strain on governmental
budgets, eventually resulting in the potential neglect of other critical sectors. Allocating funds for
universal free housing would undoubtedly divert financial investments in other sectors like healthcare,
education, or infrastructure. For instance, countries that have attempted large-scale free housing
projects, such as Venezuela, faced challenges in managing their budgets, leading to economic
downturns. This financial strain can culminate in inadequate facilities, poorer healthcare systems, and
compromised educational quality. The eventual outcome might be a society where housing is free, but
other basic necessities and quality services become scarce or subpar.
To sum up, while the merits of offering free housing are significant in fostering societal and economic
growth, it is paramount to weigh these benefits against the potential strains on a nation's resources.
11. Some experts believe that when a country is already rich, any additional increase in economic
wealth does not make its citizens any more satisfied. To what extent do you agree or disagree?
Some experts believe that in an already affluent country, further economic growth does not enhance
the satisfaction of its citizens. However, I completely disagree with this viewpoint. While it is true that
there are limitations to what money can achieve, an increase in economic wealth can still significantly
improve the quality of life and satisfaction of the people.
First and foremost, economic growth is just one aspect of life satisfaction and can only please people to
a certain extent. From my perspective, there is a limit to the satisfaction that material possessions can
provide. Most people require basic necessities such as shelter, food, and money to cover other
essentials. Once these basic needs are met, additional wealth becomes less impactful. Moreover, well-
being and relationships are critical components of life satisfaction, not merely economic growth. To
illustrate, a person can be extremely wealthy, but if they suffer from a prolonged illness, true
satisfaction remains elusive.
On the other hand, while additional economic growth can enhance individual satisfaction, it is essential
to ensure that other sectors, such as infrastructure, are also well-developed. For instance, even if
21

individuals can afford expensive cars, they cannot fully enjoy their experience if the roads are poorly
maintained. Thus, a balance between economic growth and infrastructure development is necessary.
Additionally, an abundance of economic resources can lead to advancements in technology and
healthcare, benefiting citizens beyond mere materialistic satisfaction.
In conclusion, while it is true that people need more than just economic growth for overall life
satisfaction, I support the view that economic prosperity significantly contributes to the overall
satisfaction of a nation's citizens. The benefits of increased economic wealth can extend to
improvements in infrastructure, technology, and healthcare, thereby enhancing the quality of life.
12. In many countries, too much money was spent by government and individuals on national
celebration such as New Year and religious festivals. To what extent do you agree or disagree.
In the ultra-modern epoch, folks and regimes are spending large funds on their festivals. However, it is
an argued issue whether the masses pay a plethora of amounts for their religious celebration or not.
Even though some people think that it is a destructive way to enjoy their carnival by spending a huge
amount of money, I believe that this notion is constructive as shown in the upcoming paragraph.
Commenting with the most silent reason why individuals are spending their hefty sum of amount on
their festivals. Firstly, India is a diverse country and there are numerous types of carnivals and also
people have their own way of celebrating this. Most folks spend their colossal to enjoying and showing
they are the best. To illustrate, in West Bengal, one person made a pandal similar to a Burj Khalifa and
he spent near about 50-60 lakh rupees on this occasion. Secondly, governments also make a special
budget for some occasions such as Republic Day and Independence Day. They spend a huge chunk on
fighter jet activity, every state shows their culture as a model in the parade. Hence, in this manner
regime and masses spend their capital for celebration.
On the other hand, some people spend their money on the celebration in the wrong direction. Diwali is
a famous festival in India, folks buy numerous crackers and they crack at night. Owing to this not only
spreads a plethora of pollution in the environment but also produces a myriad of sounds. Ergo, this is
the destructive approach to enjoying the festivals.
In conclusion, although individuals celebrate without care for the environment, I believe the masses can
spend their colossal volume celebrating their occupation in a wonderful approach without disturbing
others.
Health/Food/Diet/Obesity:
01. Many people believe that it is easier to have a healthy lifestyle in the countryside Others believe
that there are health benefits of living in cities. Discuss both views and give your opinions. 23-
03-24
Having a decent living environment is considered a crucial factor in determining a community's well-

more energy benefits, believe living in an urban environment is more lucrative in improving one's well-
being.
22

First and foremost, while the competitive and stressful pace in the city could pose a potential threat to a
person's fitness, living in the countryside helps individuals enhance both physical and mental energy.
Being surrounded by a natural environment helps alleviate stress and anxiety. Moreover, individuals can
eat fresh, organic foods that are inherently unoccupied by chemical preservatives or pesticides. The
absence of contaminated air also improves lung capacity since the public is less prone to suffering from
diseases such as asthma or lung cancer.
On the contrary, with the urban drift trend, many crowds have migrated to the city seeking better living
standards opportunities and modern conveniences. City-dwellers may be able to conveniently access
gym and medical Centre facilities, as well as shop for high-quality items, allowing them to focus more on
their healthy lifestyle. More specifically, they may easily receive modern medical treatments to aid in
their recovery from major illnesses. Others might live a healthy lifestyle by participating in a variety of
sports, following specialized.
Diets that best fit their bodies and other amenities that may be difficult to find in rural areas. Although
living in the Centre does appear to be associated with environmental pollutants such as air and noise,
these can be overcome in the near future thanks to the rapid growth of technology.
In conclusion, though living in the countryside has certain advantages for individuals seeking a peaceful
and serene lifestyle, I feel that the population should stay in the metropolis to take advantage of the
diversity of utilities and better social welfare entitlements.
02. More and more people are becoming seriously overweight. Some people say that the price
increase of fattening foods will solve this problem. To what extent do you agree or disagree? 13-
04-24
The alarming rise in obesity rates, where people are becoming seriously overweight, has fueled debates
on effective solutions. A popular proposal calls for raising the prices of high-calorie foods to reduce
consumption. While this fiscal strategy has some merit, I argue that it is overly simplistic, neglects the
impact on economically disadvantaged groups, and fails to address the multifaceted nature of the
obesity epidemic.
In the lexicon of economic theory, the principles of supply and demand are more than theoretical
constructs; they wield an undeniable influence over consumer behavior. This has been conspicuously
validated by Mexico’s sugar tax policy, which triggered a marked decline in soda sales. Yet, the
seemingly resplendent success of such a fiscal strategy masks the bleaker and more complex realities of
socioeconomic inequality. Raising the cost of calorie-rich foods could inadvertently instate a 'nutritional
divide,' making balanced diets a rarified luxury that only the affluent can regularly afford, thus
entrenching a cycle of poverty and deteriorating health.
On the other side of the coin, the mounting complexities tied to the surge in obesity rates—where
people are becoming seriously overweight—cannot be solved by economics alone. Scandinavian
countries, in spite of their elevated food prices, demonstrate remarkably lower obesity prevalence. The
secret lies in a multi-pronged public health strategy that extends far beyond economic disincentives. It
encompasses educational campaigns, meticulously designed urban spaces conducive to physical activity,
and stringent food-labelling laws that are transparent and informative. These varied elements

In summary, the notion of augmenting food prices, while superficially appealing, is myopic and fraught
with economic inequities. The genuine panacea resides in an integrative, multidisciplinary blueprint that
couples’ fiscal levers with educational and environmental reform, thereby ensuring a sustainable and
inclusive resolution to this burgeoning health epidemic.
03. Fast food is becoming one part of life everywhere, this has bad effects on our lifestyles and diet.
To what extent do you agree or disagree?
Nowadays, fast food industries growing at an exponential speed to do their increased demand among
the public. Given that, they have many adverse effects on the general well-being of the person. From my
point of view, I strongly agree that these cons outweigh the pros.
To begin with, in today's fast-moving, society read-to-eat food items attract the youngster than taking
out some to make some home-cooked food. People these days live in a competitive atmosphere where
time is precious so they don't bother making food themselves when the option of ordering it within
minutes is present for them in their smartphones. To illustrate this, a survey was done in an office
environment about their food preferences and more than 60 per cent preferred pre-cooked meals.
Additionally, the taste of these items is addictive which keeps the customer reaching for them over and
over again.
Nonetheless, several negative outcomes that arise from these products are detrimental. Firstly, they are
very unhealthy and impact the physical and mental condition of a person. Thus, many of the ingredients
are man-made which gives them a compelling taste but most of them can lead to several diseases as
they might have carcinogenic properties. Secondly, they have a high amount of sugar content as well as
carbohydrates are also quite a lot which can lead to life-threatening morbidities like diabetes, heart
disease, obesity, etc.
To conclude, although pre-cooked meals have become popular because of their convenience and
favorable taste it leads to some diseases, overweight, and obesity. In my opinion, I strongly believe that
the disadvantages outweigh the advantages.
04. In some countries an increasing number of people are suffering from health problems as a result
of eating too much fast food. It is therefore necessary for governments to impose a higher tax on
this kind of food. To what extend do you agree or disagree with this opinion?
In this contemporary era, health problems and illnesses have been escalating in our society. Our nation's
community has been suffering from various health-related difficulties due to the fact of consuming
convenience cuisine items. Thus, some nations are of the opinion that authorities should impose a high
rate of tax on ready-made meals. I completely agree with this opinion and the reasons are mentioned
further.
Firstly, in this fast-paced era, people are immensely dependent on processed snacks. To illustrate,
everyone is busy with their work schedules and studies in different time zones and after all, they do not
have enough time to cook their meals at home. Consequently, the community rely on online

applications like UberEATS, Skip the Dishes and Door dash for delivering meals. For Instance, research in
the American University has proved that around 90% of society hanging on junky foodstuff is suffering
from health concerns.
Secondly, there are numerous kinds of diseases like asthma, lung and heart subject rising between
younger generations. Imposing high tax rates on these food items will make it hard for poor people to
accommodate them. Thus, it helps them to convert to homemade and make their own meals.
Moreover, it increases the productivity of humans due to the intake of healthy food. To exemplify, in
2022 around 80% of youths between 20-28 have died due to sudden heart attacks. So, introducing
heavy taxes would reduce up to an extent.
In short, ordering processed food from stores is considered to be affordable but it leads to numerous
health disorders like Asthma and lung controversy. So, administration members should impose a special
charge to deplete this existing condition.
05. Some people say that the best way to improve public health is by increasing the number of
sports facilities. Others, however, say that this would have little effect on public health and that
other measures are required.
Some people think that the general well-being of the population will improve if we have more facilities
for people to do sports. However, others believe that this will have little impact on public health, and
another approach should be recommended. In my opinion, although the community can have easier
access if more gymnasiums are built, an aggressive approach such as taxation on sugar prices is a better
option.
People can have more options and better access if more gym facilities are built. Men and women are
more comfortable to exercise if they can exercise in more comfortable places, not crowded, and
facilities that meet their specific needs. For example, while some athletes prefer facilities with more
treadmills, others prefer places that offer dance classes or provide a more secluded area for women.
However, I think, this option requires high budgets and some people are not consistent when it comes
to exercising.
Imposing a tax on sugary drinks and food products is a more aggressive approach. A law to increase the
price of sugar will force overall production to reduce the amount of sugar used in foods and beverages,
as one way to cut the cost and avoid loss in their business. As a result, the end products will contain less
sugar, which is healthier for consumers. For instance, the United Kingdom imposed a sugar tax in 2018
to reduce excess sugar consumption and combat childhood obesity. I think this is a better approach, and
the tax money gained from this can be used for healthcare sectors.
In conclusion, while some people think it is beneficial to encourage people to do sports by increasing the
number of sports facilities, I believe that it is a much better measure to regulate sugar prices.

07. To meet the growing need for food for the increasing population, the country should make use
of edible insects as food. However, some people believe that insects are not only unhealthy but
affect negatively the nature too. What are the benefits and drawbacks of eating insects? Give
reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your knowledge or experience
it is widely acknowledged that over food consumption has increased day by day around the world.
Therefore, the idea is eating insects help us to overcome this problem while many people refuse it due
to unhealthy and drawbacks to natural balance. In my opinion, eating inspects maybe a temporary
solution that consumption will overtake the production capacity of insects. This essay aims to explore
the effects of insects on the human population and will provide supporting examples to arrive at a
reasoned conclusion.
On the one hand, eating insects is not a big problem, mankind can find other food resources such as,
artificial meat and vegetables. Obviously, the size of the population may require more food, thus they
try to destroy their environment. Although insects provide good protein, they are not unlimited.
Therefore, applying new birth regulations in countries can regulate their population, and this may
decrease or remain the amount of consumption.
On the other hand, every biological life forms have a different aim to keep natural life in balance, of,
course insects are the most important role in this cycle. Consuming insects has an effect on plants and
animals. A better example of this can be provided that insects spread plant pollens everywhere which
helps the population of plants. These plants may be consumed by animals and they are our main foods.
This is not a side effect but also a noticeable effect for us.
In conclusion, Insects are very important to our environment. We have to protect them rather than eat
them.

08. Health and fitness levels of children and teenagers are declining these days. Therefore, physical
education and sport should be compulsory for all students in all schools. Do you agree or
disagree with this statement?
It is often argued that these days youth's immune system is declining so schools should mandatorily
subject like physical education and sport. This essay agrees with this statement as it will make them
physically active and allow them to explore new fields.
First of all, playing sports will make their body more active physically and mentally. To explicate, in
faculty students spend most of their time sitting and studying and do not get a chance to do physical
movement which makes them obese and leads to poor health. In addition to this, young minds now
spend most of their time playing with phones and do not play any bodily games which is also an
invitation to a lot of illnesses. For instance, in 2023 WHO (World Health Organization) conducted a
survey of university students in America and found 6 out of 10 kids have movement disorder and these
pupils are found with gaming tablets and playing online. Hence, taking physical education as a required
subject will help children to do some movement at the institution.
Secondly, through teaching them athletics, they can enter new areas of interest. To elaborate, if
institutions start teaching games in academies it will create interest among children and they get a
chance to take a look at different interest. To are many individuals who are not good in academics
through these courses they will get a chance to go and create a bright future. For example, 'Sania Mirza'
(Badminton sports player) studied till only grade 12. She was not great in academics but brilliant at
sports. So, she started playing at the age of 12 and made a career in this field and today she is an
international player. Thus, these paths will give students new opportunities.
To conclude, I strongly believe that presenting play and physical education subjects will be beneficial for
teenagers as it will make them physically strong and new pathways for their future.
09. In some countries the average weight of people is increasing and their levels of health and
fitness are decreasing. What do you think are the causes of these problems and what measures
could be taken to solve them?
In some nations, people are getting heavier, and standards of health and well-being are falling. This
essay will suggest that the principal cause of these issues is the type of nourishment they are eating and
submit a government education program as a viable solution, followed by a reasoned conclusion.
The main cause of the health crisis currently affecting so many individuals is the over-consumption of
poor-quality sustenance. Convenience food and junk food, such as microwave dinners, chocolate bars,
McDonald’s and pizza, have become a ubiquitous part of modern life. Eating too much of these high-fat
meals causes many to gain weight and this has knock-on effects on someone’s general wellness. For
example, the movie ‘Super-Size Me’ demonstrated that a person who eats this kind of food all the time
will not only get fat but also suffer from such things as raised blood pressure and even fatty liver disease.

In summary, the current health crisis has been caused by an over-reliance on unhealthy food and states

10. Some people suggest that a country should try to produce all the food for its population and
import as little food as possible. To what extent do you agree or disagree. 26.10.24
How to ensure grain security for the entire population has been a major concern for every country for
centuries. It is believed that a nation should manage to produce all kinds of ingredients while importing
as little as possible. In general, I am in favour of this viewpoint.
Undoubtedly, not all countries have the same geographic features, weather conditions, and advanced
technologies to offer all of the produce citizens need, and therefore, it is reasonable for them to import
some more or less. However, the more a country relies on imported foods, the more insecurity and
instability it may face. Grain import includes more uncertainties than the importation per se, say,
geopolitics, tariff, etc.,that exporting countries are unable to fully control. Thus, overdependency on
imports will greatly pose a risk to the nation.
Today, a great number of people are unaware of the fact that the miles that your food travels to get to
your plate make it vulnerable to the environment. This is because the long-distance transportation of
food by planes, trains, trucks, or ships all consume energy in large quantities and spew pollution, which
is a major contributor to global warming, and the effects the pollution has on people’s health are
reflected in high rates of asthma and other respiratory symptoms. Conversely, local produce is a much
healthier and more environmentally sound alternative. Without the need to be packaged, shipped, and
then delivered, local foods are able to preserve the nutrients to the greatest extent. Besides, purchasing
locally grown foods maintains local farmland, which in turn increases green and open space and
therefore promotes a healthy harmonious environment in the long term.
In conclusion, in order to keep independent in food supply, and protect the environment, a country
should strive to become self-sufficient in its production.
Nowadays the government provides specialized apparatus to train talented competition for great
achievements in the field of sports. However, it is forgotten to supply facilities for citizens. To my mind,
both views are valid and the administration should keep a balance when it comes to play policy for the
top athletes and for the public. Besides, in this essay, I will discuss one as well as the other the upsides
and downsides of this development.
28

On the one hand, it is a positive development due to the fact that specialized training furnishings can
give an opportunity to train highly qualified sportsmen for the national competition team. Furthermore,
joining major international sporting events provides a chance to bring honor and prestige to a winning
country. For instance, from the reports of international media, we can see how residents of the
victorious countries of the World Football Cup, such as Brazil or Argentina enthusiastically celebrated
their triumphs. Perhaps for them, no matter how much money they spend on training the national
football team, it is worthwhile. As a result, countries adopting this approach often excel in international
sports competitions, boosting national pride and recognition.
On the other hand, others claim that this is a negative advancement for most citizens. Building
specialized apparatus for elite athletes means that funds are taken away from those planned for all
populations. By way of illustration, in Taiwan, the government prepares more than 100 billion dollars
for the physical education budget for all citizens yearly. It is clear that doing sports can help people to
keep healthy and as a result, reduce the general expenditure of national health care. Therefore,
increasing public furniture for residents presents an effective approach to alleviating pressure on
healthcare services.
To put it in a nutshell, I firmly believe that the administration should stand steady and maintain a
balance between investing in specialized furnishings for training professionals and offering enough
buildings which serve as sports functions for the population because no one should be left behind.
02. During holidays or weekends, young people spend less time on outdoor activities in the
natural environment, such as hiking and mountain climbing. Why? What can be done to
encourage them to go out? 06-04-24
In today's modern era, youngsters are less interested in doing outdoor activities, like hiking and
mountain climbing during their vacation. This tendency is increasing rapidly due to social networking
sites and global warming. However, such types of situations can be tackled by letting them know that
without outdoor sports it is impossible to lead a healthy life.
One of the main reasons for spending less time on outdoor exercise is that nowadays, teenagers like to
spend their free time with online friends through different social networking platforms, via Facebook,
Instagram, Twitter and suchlike. Researchers around the world have found that staying online and
browsing the internet are considered as an addiction like smoking, leaving adolescents no time to take
up a new hobby. For example, my niece was Tiktoker when she turned 13 years old, and she spent days
and nights making videos on phone. Apart from that, a changing climate is making weather hot day by
day due to which young people not feeling like to go out and play or do activities like climbing, hiking,
and many more. Therefore, social media and temperature change are responsible for not trying outdoor
games.
There are many ways by which we can encourage children to play outside of the house. Post the
messages or videos on social media platforms about the health benefits of natural activities, to motivate
youngsters to maintain their fitness. Furthermore, schools can organize more nature camping holidays
or do plantations in needy areas to spread more greenery. For instance, in India the most recognized
DPS school is organizing a tree plantation project every year for a week in the month of August to
educate the students about the conservation of the environment through tree plantation. Hence,

explaining the advantages of outdoor activities with an example is the best way to inspire the young
generation to try outdoor sports.
In conclusion, whereas social media or global warming deter children to go out but parents and schools
should make them understand the benefits of outdoor activities.
03. Some people think that dangerous extreme sports such as rock climbing and sky-diving should
be banned. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this view?
Adventurous sports have recently gained popularity among people of interest, which has aroused
concerns due to the risks this sort of activity brings about. Some opponents are in favour of banning
these dangerous sports games while I disagree with this for the below reasons.
My first justification is about freedom infringement if laws are passed to forbid the activities like rock
climbing and sky-diving. There is no disputing the fact that they are already classified into sports fields
like others such as badminton; thereby they are freely implemented, and welcome players who also
have their own rights to choose what sport they take up. Otherwise, their autonomy will be invaded.
Another reason is that perilous sports have a handsome number of advantages. First, they would, to
some extent, reduce participants' stress resulting from this fast-paced life through strong feelings.
Second, these adventurous sports also train them to cope with challenges and hurdles in games, and
then in their real [Link], these extremely adventurous sporty games have created a considerable
number of jobs and contributed to national income.
Last but not least, instead of banning this kind of sport, which seems not rational, safety procedures
should be well carried out and under strict control. If this implements well, risks perhaps gradually
decrease, then marginally deleting worrying concerns.
In conclusion, I would contend that forbidding perilous sports activities is just a contemporary, but
ineffective way. Some other plausible measures could be applied on the grounds of safety so that the
merits are intensively exploited.
04. Some people think that outdoor activities are more beneficial for children’s development than
playing computer games. To what extent do you agree or disagree?
It is said that some individuals are of the opinion that children benefit from outdoor activities more than
playing computer games. I strongly agree that outdoor activities are more beneficial mainly because of
help physical development.
It is my view that doing outdoor activities leads to improving physical development. These activities
provide a place for playing sports. For example, riding a bicycle, climbing trees, running and jumping.
Because of them, strong muscles and bones are developing gradually. As a result of these changes,
boosting stamina will come up. In addition, these activities can help emotional and cognitive
improvement. They are more likely to provide an atmosphere for communicating with other people.
Owing to these communications and speaking with peers, children are able to find new friends who help
each other. So that it ends up improving language skills and self-confidence.

In contrast, some people claim that playing computer games fosters cognitive skills. Computer games
almost have different stages and each one has a unique story. Therefore, finding out the game story
helps pass each stage one by one. This realization can improve storytelling. However, I believe it is not a
valid idea, due to the fact that reading and watching visual books can be more helpful. Furthermore,
computer games can improve imagination and critical thinking. If children are aware of special tips and
tricks in some video games, such as mazes or puzzles, they will do a step ahead in the game. Then, trying
different methods to find out-of-box solutions may improve a creative ideas more and more. But in my
idea, children can benefit from facilities like parks, museums and exhibitions which can broaden their
horizons.
In conclusion, I completely agree that outdoor activities are more beneficial than computer games
because of improving physical and emotional development.
05. Some people believe that children's time outside of school should be filled with scheduled
activities such as art and music classes and sports. Others feel that children need free time to
play and relax. Discuss both these views and give your own opinion.
A highly controversial topic discussed nowadays is whether children should spend their extra-curricular
time learning new activities such as art, music and sports or enjoy their free time playing and relaxing.
Personally, I envision that a balance should be sought between these two aspects in order to raise
children in a healthier way.
On the one hand, occupying the student's moments outside the school with planned classes helps offer
a chance for students to explore new areas like painting, playing instruments or learning a certain sport.
In other words, offering music or singing classes, for example, develops the artistic side of students and
shifts their focus from scientific subjects. Furthermore, scheduling sports activities within the school
planning contributes to preserving the kids' physical health and therefore, influences their psychological
state and academic achievements positively.
On the other hand, kids should be given the ability to enjoy their free hours playing and relaxing
without any schedule too. Doing so helps them rest in order to recharge their energy after long weeks of
work. Moreover, play is a chance to express creativity and innovation. An example to illustrate that
would be a recent scientific study supporting this point by proving that children's brain is stimulated by
leisure activities and consequently impact their growth.
To summarize, I think that the youth should not only devote an important amount of hours to scheduled
extra-scholar classes but also enjoy an equal time resting and playing with their fellows, because it will
influence them positively and create a more balanced lifestyle.
06. some argue that the fittest and strongest individuals and teams can achieve the greatest
success in sports. But other people think that success is much related to mental attitude
discuss both views and give your opinion.
Although few declare that healthy and powerful people and groups can reach the greatest success in

opinion, I think that a good built-up body can help us to achieve victory in sports.

On one hand, there are people who consider that a player becomes energetic and highly active while
playing a game. According to them physical fitness gives a sense of motivation as well as makes the
player highly confident. They also believe that stamina becomes high which is the basic requirement of
sports. Furthermore, they also opine that groups help a lot to reach the great success I believe that
fitness makes more motivation toward victory in sports. For instance, if a person is a build-up with a
good-looking body then everyone who appreciates him motivates the individual.
On the other hand, there are others who think that a healthy mind lives in a healthy body. In addition to
this, they also consider that mental health is more significant as it makes calm whenever there are any
issues. Furthermore, mental well-being makes individuals learn activities more quickly. For example, if a
person facing any family problems and the individuals get distracted it can let him down. So to achieve
success individuals must be prepared with health.
In conclusion, despite people having different perspectives that success is achieved by living in good
shape, being brawny, and by mentally healthy. I consider that, staying fit powerful and working in a
group lead to victory in sports
07. Some people believe that unpaid community work (for example, working for a charity,
teaching sports to children) should become a compulsory part of the high school curriculum. To
what extent do you agree or disagree?
We are all aware that it is crucial to provide the younger generation with a broad and fulfilling
education. This includes knowledge and the soft skills gained from social activities. I personally assume
that unpaid community work will do a great help in education and that it is reasonable for schools to
include this sort of movement in the school curriculum.
First and foremost, students will be given chances to practice social communication skills once they take
part in voluntary community work such as supporting sports activities or charity work. Taking part in
these cooperative activities, students will be put in an environment where they have to work effectively
in an organization or group of other people. As a result, they will gradually learn how to work in teams
and acquire the needed skill sets in order to collaborate well with others. For instance, catholic pupils
who participate in weekend volunteer activities at churches show themselves as more active teammates
in the school's group work.
Second, bringing community work into the school curriculum also benefits society in some ways as
students and pupils can be a significant addition to the number of participants in the force of volunteers.
There will be more people joining hands in cultivating the living environment which , in my opinion, will
efficiently solve the problem of manpower.
In conclusion, it is certainly essential for schools to introduce unpaid community work in their
curriculum. If this happens, education will probably be completed in a more rounded way and there will
be more support in creating better living conditions.

People have differing views with regard to the question of whether physical or mental strength is crucial
to succeed in sports. In my point of view, both aspects are crucial but their roles vary depending on
which type of sports are selected.
Some people argue that physical power is the key to the accomplishment of almost every sport. First of
all, it is believed that bodily strength is the fundamental requirement of endurance and athletic sports
such as weight-lifting and running. Without harsh physical training and suitable nutrition intake to build
muscle, it is impossible for athletes to beat other contestants and get the victory. Secondly, maintaining
a strong body helps athletes and sports players avoid common injuries in certain sports. In soccer, for
example, because of the long endurance of a match and on-field collisions, poorly physical players can
easily suffer from damage to their bodies and the best protection for this is to attain great resistance
capability.
Despite the above arguments, others think that mental strength plays a greater part in sports
achievement. This, on the one hand, is obvious with chess and other mind sports, along with physical
sports that require high concentration. Indeed, on the subject of archery and shooting competitions,
athletes can lose merely because of a moment of distraction. On the other hand, in terms of physically
competitive sports, mental strength is the major factor in the decision of the winner. It is hard for
worldwide tennis spectators to forget the comeback victory of Novak Djokovic in the final of the 2012
French Open championship thanks to his conscious mind and better strategy, despite his physical
disadvantages compared to his competitor, Rafael Nadal.
In conclusion, in my opinion, while the physical aspect is more important with sports that prioritize
strength and movements, their mental counterpart matters more to mind sports. Both of these two
elements are inevitable in every kind of sport and they can complement each other.
09. Large companies use sport events to promote their products. Some people think this
has a negative impact on sports. To what extent do you agree or disagree? 29.06.24
Major companies frequently sponsor sports events to advertise their goods. Some believe that this
development has a damaging impact on the spirit of sports. Large companies use sports competition to
develop their commodity that this has positive effect to sport also has some negative impact on sports.
Companies advertise their product in sport tourns that has benefits on sports. Big companies help to
sports to develop through to sponsor. If big company sponsor to sport, this sport will develop. Also
across this all expenses and sportman's salary pay on time. For example: In the Ultimate Fighting
Championship fighting sport competiton Gorilla energy drink to sponsore all tourns. That's why Ultimate
Fighting Championship was very developed nowadays. Across Gorilla company sportsman's get big
salary from Fight and so they all pay attention this sport, get busy and develop more sport tournament.
Large companies advertise own product across sport contention that has some minus side to sport.
Nowadays alcohol drink advertise big screen in the sport competiton. Audience usually to taste this
product also this days sportsmens may taste this kind of products. Through this some Athletes have
health problems. For instance: Last year Anvar G'ofurov In the Bunyodkor football club player diseased

10. Some people think that hosting an international sports event is good for the country,
while some people think it is bad. Discuss both views and give your opinion. 11.07.24
There is a debate over whether hosting a worldwide sports event is good for the country or not, with
some arguing that it would be beneficial to the economy of the country as the number of people visiting
the country increases and others suggesting that it can be negative due to impacts on the environment.
Although there are arguments justifying the former idea, I believe that people should be most
concerned about the environment.
At the outset, organizing a global sports event is argued to be useful as it can be a trigger for an
economic boost. This implies that the government of the country can attract more people and earn
more because most people, in the world, may want to attend such kinds of occasions. More precisely,
the authorities can make a huge amount of money as tourists can visit museums or historical places
during the tour; they may buy local crafts and antiques as a means of memorial or even spending by
spectators; and investments from sponsors and media can contribute to the profit. As a result,
absolutely, this influx of money can create jobs, boost businesses, and provide short-term economic
growth.
On the other hand, it is argued that arranging an international sports event can pose hazardous
implications for the environment. In other words, the government should construct new buildings and
improve the infrastructure of the places where events are held to accommodate all crowds and to host
better; these things can lead to significant environmental consequences, such as habitat destruction and
an increased carbon footprint. This is just because, setting up new structures using cement and sand,
and destroying old ones means a lot of pollution; moreover, the more people there are, the greater the
carbon footprint there is. As a consequence, nature can be damaged owing to hosting a worldwide
event.
All things considered, although hosting a global event can be positive as it can foster the economy
through tourism, spectator spending, and media investments, I support those arguing that it is harmful
to the ecosystem because of the loss of habitats and higher carbon emissions.
11. The best way to teach children to cooperate is through team sports at school. To what
extent do you agree or disagree?
The assertion that team sports in schools are the optimal medium for teaching children the skills of
cooperation has garnered significant attention. While there are numerous avenues through which
cooperation can be cultivated, I contend that engaging in team sports provides a particularly effective
framework for instilling this critical skill. This essay will explore the compelling arguments supporting this
viewpoint whilst acknowledging potential counterarguments.
Team sports inherently necessitate collaboration, as players must work harmoniously toward a common
objective. For instance, in games such as soccer or basketball, each participant has a specific role that
contributes to the success of the team. This collaborative dynamic fosters an understanding of
34
WhatsApp - 01848361793

interdependence, as players must communicate effectively and support each other to achieve victory.
Furthermore, through regular participation in team sports, children learn to manage conflicts and
negotiate with peers, skills that are invaluable both in and out of sporting contexts. Research conducted
by various educational institutions has shown that juveniles who engage in team sports tend to
demonstrate improved social interactions and heightened empathy, thus illustrating the profound
impact of these activities on cooperative skills.
In conclusion, whilst there are various strategies to impart the values of cooperation, team sports
emerge as a particularly effective vehicle for this purpose within school environments. The structured
nature of sports not only encourages collaboration and communication but also enables kids to
experience the joys and challenges of teamwork in a tangible and engaging manner. Therefore, I
maintain that the integration of team sports in educational settings should be prioritized as an essential
component of fostering cooperation among juveniles.
12. Some people think that big companies should provide sports and social facilities for the local
community. To what extent do you agree or disagree?
It is true that more and more companies are being launched and having good growth in recent years.
Because of that, many people think that these organizations need to supply sports and social facilities
for the local residential area they are working at. In my perspective, I totally agree with this opinion.
The most supportive reason for the question of why big companies should provide social appliances for
the community is that they are making profits using the local's resources. Therefore, they need to do
something in return. Organizing sports activities, as well as installing applications to enhance the local
residents' living quality, could be considered the most effective and realistic action that shows their
consideration about the life of their community. For example, raising funds and building playgrounds for
children would express an organization's care about the young's both physical and mental health.
In addition, giving part of a company's income to promote healthy activities and improve current local
infrastructures could help build its reputation and make it become more trustworthy. This humane
behavior creates an impression in the citizens about a group that has both good financial and social
intentions, and thus, is worth investigating. Hence, the business of that organization would be supported
with better conditions from the dwellers and authority. In reality, companies that are frequently
mentioned with good vibes are usually those which have proper investment strategies in the local
community.
35

In conclusion, it is good for big companies to spend on sports and infrastructures of their local area. It is
not only because of their responsibility of returning to the people that have been supporting them, but
also for the sake of their reputation and business in the future.
13. Children learn more from playing freely after school than doing more organised after school
activities. To what extent do you agree or disagree?
The assertion that children's engagement in free play is fundamental to their overall development is
widely acknowledged. In this context, it is posited that children derive greater educational benefits from
free play after school compared to structured extracurricular activities, although it is important to
recognize that organized activities can also provide significant learning opportunities.
First and foremost, free play after school enhances children's creativity and problem-solving skills. When
children are afforded the liberty to choose their activities, they are more likely to embrace new
challenges, which stimulates their imaginative capabilities. For instance, when children engage in
unstructured play, they often encounter obstacles that require creative solutions, thereby promoting
innovative thinking. Additionally, autonomy in play allows children to interact with their peers
independently, facilitating the development of social skills and fostering important relationships. This
independence not only boosts their confidence but also helps them cultivate a sense of identity separate
from their familial ties.
Conversely, overly structured and supervised after-school activities can sometimes induce anxiety and
inhibit self-expression among children. Parental concerns regarding the suitability of certain activities
can create an atmosphere of pressure, which may lead to feelings of isolation and stifle the child's
natural inclination to explore and express themselves. For example, when children participate in
rigorously organized sports or classes, they may feel compelled to conform to expectations rather than
engage in authentic self-directed play, which is critical for holistic development.
In conclusion, I contend that unstructured play offers more substantial learning opportunities for
children, fostering essential skills such as creativity, problem-solving, and social interaction. The benefits
of free play in enabling children to face new challenges and develop their identities are, in my opinion,
invaluable for their growth and education.

people think it is necessary, but others are of the opinion that it is unfair. Discuss both views
and give your own opinions. 27-04-24
Some people state that the fact that CEOs of huge corporations have a good income, while their
members of staff get paid significantly less, affects employees’ mental health negatively and leads to
awful consequences. I agree with the opinion that it is fair for founders to get paid more due to their
wide experience and amount of responsibility.

To begin with, it is a widespread fact that staff have much lower income compared to their boss (even
though they have more hours of work), and having that low salary might lead to losing motivation,
apathy, and depression (which even might lead to suicidal decisions, as was exemplified by Japanese
statistics). As a result, employees decrease their productivity and activities of the company, by
producing bad quality goods.
I, however, believe that it is essential to have a better salary for the owner of the company. The work of
directors is usually underestimated, although being crucial, they have a number of duties like taking sort
of risks, managing the crew, sorting particular offers, and setting the standards for the company. In fact,
on these responsibilities the company is usually held. For example, if founders cannot harmonize their
teams and solve mutual conflicts, the employees working under them cannot work with high
[Link], the company owners’ salary is fully approved by their efforts.
To conclude, despite the fact that employees work more and get less which leads to certain mental
disorders, people should not forget that CEOs, as founders, put more effort into their own start-ups.
02. In many countries, a small number of people earn extremly high salaries. Some people believe
that this is good for the country, but others think that goverments should not allow salaries
above a certain level. Discuss both these views and give your own opinion. 04-05-24
These days, high salaries are earned by a small number of communities. While this benefits the country
by boosting the economy, restricting salaries to a certain level could get rid of an unequal distribution of
wealth.
On one hand, the restriction of high salaries would bring about an about an equitable distribution of
wealth. If the government distributes salaries more evenly, this would mean that more people would
have access to higher wages, reducing the gap between the highest and lowest earners. In addition, this
could lead to a reduction in poverty and improved social mobility. For example, in Switzerland,
authorities limited wages in 2013 in order to reach equal distribution; consequently, the poverty level in
this company is low. Thus, from one side, this approach has positive sides too.
On the other hand, people who earn high salaries could bring a number of advantages to economic
growth. Firstly, high-earners typically pay more in taxes, which can contribute significantly to the
government budget and fund public services and infrastructure. Secondly, high earners may invest in
innovative projects, start businesses, or support research and development, driving economic growth
and creating jobs. Therefore, for these reasons, people who earn high salaries can be influential in every
aspect.
In conclusion, although restricting salaries to a certain level can lead to equal distribution, individuals
who are high earners can contribute to an economic boost. As a result, I think that these people are
extremely beneficial to government.

having an increasing influence on the young. Is this a positive or negative development ? 18-

In today’s hyper-connected world, the influence of famous figures stretches far beyond their fields of
expertise. Actors, athletes, and even social media influencers are increasingly seen as role models,
especially by young people. While this can be a positive force, guiding young minds towards ambition
and positive values, it also carries significant risks, demanding a critical lens on the
messages celebrities project.
On the positive side, celebrities can inspire and motivate young people to pursue their dreams. Seeing
an athlete triumph after grueling training or an actor land their dream role can ignite a similar passion in
aspiring individuals. Additionally, celebrities can champion important causes, bringing awareness
to social injustices and environmental issues that might otherwise go unnoticed by younger
generations. Malala Yousafzai’s fight for girls’ education and Leonardo DiCaprio’s climate activism are
prime examples of how fame can be used for positive change, influencing young minds to become active
citizens.
However, the reliance on celebrities as role models also carries inherent dangers. Their carefully curated
public image can often paint an unrealistic picture of success and achievement, leading to unhealthy
comparisons and feelings of inadequacy among young people. The constant barrage of picture-perfect
lives on social media can distort perceptions of reality and fuel insecurities. Furthermore,
some celebrities fall into the trap of promoting unhealthy behaviors or unrealistic beauty standards,
potentially harming the mental and physical well-being of their young followers.
Ultimately, the impact of celebrity role models is a double-edged sword. While their influence can be a
force for good, it’s crucial to approach it with a critical eye. Parents and educators play a vital role in
helping young people navigate this complex landscape, encouraging them to identify diverse and
relatable role models, both famous and non-famous, who can offer guidance and inspiration without
setting unrealistic expectations. By fostering critical thinking and open communication, we can
help young people leverage the positive influence of celebrities while mitigating the potential risks,
shaping them into individuals with their own unique dreams and aspirations.
Remember, role models are not meant to be worshipped or blindly emulated. They are guides, not
blueprints. The true journey of self-discovery lies in finding our own path, informed by the wisdom and
experiences of others, both famous and ordinary.
04. Some people like to work in a company which offers high salary. Some others think that it is
good to work in a company which offers a good working atmosphere. What is your opinion?
Discuss both the views with examples.
Some masses adore working in an organisation which provided an ample amount of income but further
believe that the environment of the industry is a better choice. In my ,thoughts I think the working
environment is much preferable to a good salary. This essay discusses both views with valid examples.
To Begin with, handsome pay will offer a better lifestyle and feel. Individuals can get desirable things in
his/her life. But, a good salary can not be able to provide peace of mind if our surroundings are not
positive. In addition to that, the Experience of work will become worse. For example, if someone facing
harassment by a senior manager then it is impossible to stay and work in a company. Although, some
38

employees work in such conditions knowing the consequences, after some time they suffer from tension
and stress.
On the other hand, a better environment in workplaces makes work easy and peaceful. It also increases
the quality of work. Also, if someone feels stuck in a project or work then a senior will help with their
experience and knowledge which also increases the skills of an individual person. For example, a study
shows that if an employee works in calm conditions then new skills are inherited from their mind. Also,
these people become much more successful in future with an increment in salary and post.
To conclude, It is true a higher salary provides good life but if someone wants consistency in a career
then the calm environment can give both a better future and ample income.
05. some people say that big salary is much more important than job satisfaction. do you agree or
disagree ?
In the working sector, achievement levels could be measured by the salary. However, some individuals
do not believe this and say that the endeavour should be satisfying despite the pay rate. I completely
disagree if one is not happy with the job, it is impossible to drive a passionate career and interest in an
activity.
Firstly, the power that drives every human to put effort to earn can go missing if employment is no
longer interesting. Certainly, a position that enables one to explore more opportunities and learn new
skills will boost the growth of the employee and employer. For example, a person who loves doing
charity and other social work can be a disastrous fit as a scientist or engineer because that is not the
area of interest. Therefore, even if a job is paying more, professional and personal growth could be
hindered by the dissatisfaction involved.
Secondly, another reason why I support this notion is that performance plays a key role but if it is
missing workers can lose track. Eventually, creating stress in not only work but also life could be
affected. In Toronto, many office-going people are just following the routine despite considering their
productivity, every job is being done for the sake of money but their health is being affected as they are
under heaps of stress and unhappy. Consequently, even though finances are the most important aspects
of life, they cannot be related to the content.
In conclusion, many humans consider a hefty salary instead of happiness in their work life. Nonetheless,
I do not believe the same way as living a monotonous soul could lead to depression, and less
productivity and could affect personal growth negatively.
06. In these day, some people believe that the white collar worker must have a higher salary than
the renowned athletes and artists. Do you agree or disagree with this statement?
Many people argue that white-collar workers such as doctors and teachers deserve higher salaries than
sports athletes and entertainment stars. In my opinion, I strongly agree with this idea because they have
to spend much more time than others to become a professional worker and they contribute more to the
development of society.
39

Firstly, it takes many years for a person to become a professional worker. Training and teaching
programs for these occupations require learners to spend at least 4 to 6 years to have sufficient
specialized knowledge. Take a doctor as an example, one medicine student has to sacrifice their youth
for at least 6 years or maybe up to 10 years in university to have enough knowledge and skill in their
major. However, it seems easier for one entertainment star to achieve success because there are so
many people that need only one night to become famous. Therefore, paying doctors more than
entertainment stars is completely worth it.
Secondly, white-collar workers have more contribution to the development of society than athletes or
entertainment stars. That now our whole society can witness and enjoy modern inventions entirely
thanks to the efforts of knowledge workers. For example, to find a cure or invent advanced technologies
to serve people, teams of doctors and engineers must spend years to create a perfect scientific work.
That reason completely convinced me that professional workers need to be paid more than athletes or
superstars.
In conclusion, that white-collar workers have to spend more time studying and they have a greater
contribution to society are completely worthy reasons for them to have a higher salary than sports and
entertainment stars.
07. Whether or not someone achieves their aims is mostly by a question of luck. To what extent
do you agree or disagree? 24-02-24
One school of thought holds that most of one’s success is attributable to a stroke of luck. While I accept
that this perception is somewhat justifiable, I disagree that people can be successful without hard work
and consistency.
It would be imprudent to downplay the role of luck in achieving one’s goals. Although not concretely
helping individuals achieve their aims, luck has a colossal impact on their possibility of becoming a
successful person. For example, if Kobe Bryant had been born in the same period of time with Michael
Jordan, it would have been much more difficult for him to become the best player of the NBA of his time
because he would have had to compete with a person who may be better than him at their best, making
it more challenging for him to gain as much as success as he did. This is a powerful testament to the
influence of fortune on one’s accomplishment.
However, I am of the opinion that prosperity only can be earned by those who are determined and
industrious due to a host of compelling reasons. One rationale is that success requires a plethora of
high-valued skills, which can only be attained through a process of hard working. For instance, IELTS
learners can develop their English skills only by constantly using it on a daily basis. Another justification
is that the right mindset also plays an integral part in the path of earning prosperity. This is because it
would help one to be able to elucidate their priorities and the right things to do in order to achieve their
goals, thereby saving them time of chasing useless objectives
In conclusion, while acknowledging the considerable impact of fortune, I would contend that success
only comes to those who are hardworking and patient.

08. Employers nowadays put more emphasis on social skills. Some people believe that social skills
are important in addition to good qualifications for job success. To what extent do you agree
or disagree? 07-03-24
Employers nowadays tend to select qualified candidates based on their interpersonal skills, whereas it is
of the opinion that both social skills and good qualifications are important for job success. Personally, I
am inclined to agree with the latter opinion. In the following essay, I will explain my justification in
detail.
Firstly, formal training and academic credentials play a role in one's career. University education can
equip graduates with a fundamental of their fields of interest without which they may lack a sound basis
to start a profession and build their careers. For example, surgeons would not be able to carry out an
operation on the human body unless they have acquired surgical qualifications which require them
years of training in surgery. In addition, given the importance of formal training, holders of formal
qualifications can have better prospects of employment. In other words, those people who have
excellent academic performance may have the upper hand in competing for a good job. This is because
their qualifications are often taken as initial indicators of their knowledge and competency in their fields
of specialization.
Secondly, I believe that individuals also need to sharpen their social skills if they wish to achieve
effectiveness and efficiency in working with others. In any organization, people do not work alone, but
they have to liaise with one another in a view to achieve shared organizational goals. Indeed, it has been
scientifically proven that those who have strong social skills may have more developed communicative
skills and a higher level of empathy and emotional intelligence than those without, facilitating them to
have better communication and understanding in a team. These skills contribute to not only an
individual's job performance but also a positive work culture and productive teamwork.
In conclusion, I firmly assert that both interpersonal skills and formal qualifications are an integral part
of a person's successful career. While academic credentials provide knowledge, social skills facilitate
effective teamwork and these two factors are essential for people who want to climb the career ladder.
09. In many countries today, women have full-time jobs. Therefore, it is reasonable to share
housework equally between men and women. To what extent do you agree or disagree with
this statement?
The trend of full-time labour among women has created a balance of chores and responsibilities with
their spouses. Personally, I am completely in the same boat with this notion. This phenomenon can
lessen the degree of patriarchalism and reduce the fatherless issue in a family. I will try to explain both
benefits based on the condition of my country, Indonesia.
A current shift where mothers can achieve the same career opportunities as men might diminish the
effect of patriarchism. It is a belief that exists in many regions, and consistently puts males as the top
priority in any relations. To illustrate, in the early 1900s in Indonesia, females are entitled only to three
places with three duties. Kitchen for cooking, bed for mating, and well for house working. However,
since girls are able to enter the workforce, a lot has changed. Those who previously held patriarchy and
overshadowed women all the time already realized that women are as capable as men. Thus, if initially,
41

mothers were the only ones to handle housework, then nowadays fathers should be able to do it
equally.
On the other hand, this alteration has the likelihood to alleviate the troublesome fatherless problems.
As its name implies, fatherless means the lack of involvement or dad figure in daily life. Usually ensued
as the breadwinner image being invoked on males. For example, a job can take up to 8 to 9 hours per
day. It is true that from this, a husband can fulfil the financial needs of his youngsters. Nevertheless, it is
also a hard pill to swallow that he will not have sufficient time to play with the children. Therefore, the
psychological void will emerge within them. Fortunately, modern belief has countered it, hence men
can spend more moments with their sons or daughters. A family's income is not confined to one source
anymore.
Overall, once again, I am fully aligned with this concept. Two benefits have evidently been generated
since females have even-handed circumstances with their spouses at work. The social issue of
patriarchy and fatherless parents can be lowered. In the future, I assume that this lifestyle will be
proliferated in more countries. The advantages are really invaluable.
10. Some people think that people should choose their job based on income in order to provide
security for their family. Do you think money is an important factor when choosing a job?
What other factors should be considered?
A few folks are of the opinion that pay scale should be the selection criterion for a job so that one is able
to secure their family’s future. While I strongly agree that remuneration holds significant value for many
to choose their work, other variables like office hours, location, and interest also play a major role in
one's life to choose the jobs suitable for them.
Of course, money is an important variable to select a profession because it is a necessity in life. Most
individuals work to create an income stream that can fulfil their needs and help them achieve a decent
living standard, which otherwise would not have been possible in case the individual does not get paid.
For example, some may be working to afford a lavish house, others may be looking to pay for the
education of their child via their earnings. In addition, a healthy income helps folks to save for their
older years, and so most folks prefer to go for a post that pays handsomely.
Having said that, the pay scale is not the only factor on which people base their opinion of where they
want to work. Job location, work culture, and brand value are some of the other crucial pointers that
people generally look after along with the salary package. For instance, for some relocating to a new city
might not be possible due to family issues irrespective of the pay increment. Similarly, people weigh
working conditions, how people are treated in a particular organisation, and whether the company
brand is a trusted entity to arrive at the decision of where they might or might not work.
In conclusion, though the salary is undoubtedly a crucial component for most which help them decide
on their dream company, there are more variables that people account for to seeking a job matching
their needs. Overall, one must look to maximise the fulfilment of their different needs.
11. Some people think that success in life comes from hard work and determination, while others

Many people believe that effort and discipline play an important role in achieving success in life, while
others argue that money and appearance are two aspects that significantly influence one's success. In
this essay, I will discuss the advantages and drawbacks of this phenomenon and provide my own
perspective.
On the one hand, there are several reasons why finance and physical attractiveness are perceived as
necessary for success. Money can facilitate the realization of desires such as power and influence. For
instance, individuals with substantial financial resources have numerous opportunities to advance
rapidly in their careers or gain prominence within their communities. Additionally, personal appearance
is a crucial factor affecting success. For example, displaying confident body language can greatly
enhance an individual's chances of securing employment.
On the other hand, it is crucial not to underestimate the importance of hard work and determination,
which are vital components of achieving success. Firstly, hard work enables individuals to gain valuable
experience in various life situations. For instance, a young student who consistently practices different
types of assignments is more likely to minimize the risk of repeating mistakes, thereby increasing their
chances of achieving high scores in exams. Secondly, willpower provides the motivation to establish
goals, which serve as the foundation for success. Moreover, it is an essential trait that enables
individuals to effectively tackle complex challenges in life.
In conclusion, while money and personal appearance can indeed influence success by providing
numerous opportunities for advancement, effort and willpower remain dominant factors. These
qualities are indispensable skills that guide individuals on the journey to success.
12. Ambition is being emphasized in today’s society. How important do you think it is for people
who want to succeed in life? Is it a positive or negative characteristic?
Nowadays, people would like to make a positive impact in the world by becoming a part of something
important or just to create their best life and they are willing to work hard enough for it. Even though
obvious benefits can be found in having ambition, drawbacks should not be ignored.
Firstly, according to advantages, the first crucial benefit is happiness. People want a certain lifestyle.
Ambition is just a motive and a way to reach your goal. What is more important than being happy ? For
instance, my cousin always wanted to open a restaurant. So at the age of 42, he went back to school to
learn about his passion : cooking but also to be self-employed. He firmly believes that his life balance
could not be possible without this project. In addition, ambition can be related to working in a firm, also
it's essential to show some desire to grow in an enterprise.
On the other hand, it's sometimes hard to succeed in following a dream, so, it is legit to think that some
people can be too ambitious. The biggest negative aspect is disrespecting others for your own success.
Hence, chasing a dream is not equal to destroying someone's one, plus Men and Women can have bad
intentions obviously. For example, to explain more about this kind of situation, let me introduce you to
the "Tiny little things" TV series. As a matter of fact, you are looking at individuals in a dance institution
able to do anything to reach the first role in a dance show. In this series, we observe that even Best
Friends can lie to each other and do worse.

14. Some believe that people are naturally born as leaders while others feel that leadership skills
can develop. Discuss both views and give your own opinion.
There is no denying the conviction that some are inborn talented and have leadership traits on the other
hand critics argue that skills can be acquired at any phase of life. In my, opinion both propositions
appear to be more rational. This essay will further elaborate on my views on the positive and negative
impacts of the trends and thus will read to a logical conclusion.
to begin with, the first argument of the essay, some leaders are born with the natural skills they just
need to identify develop and nurture them in addition, they have unique traits that make them different
from ordinary folks and they lead from fronts. to exemplify there is a list of copious people in Pakistan
who have captaincy ideologies and proven records in their field of experience or major such as Cricket
sports person and iconic personality Shahid Khan Afridi has the leadership quality since childhood and
he has always led from the front and he won the numerous matches owing to his planning and natural
skills on the ground that make him champions.
Secondly, toward the second argument of the debate, some folks are talented too they just need
attention, ample time, and professional headship to develop it and it can be developed at any phase of
life. as a result, they can be able to lead according to their abilities. for instance, I heard a plethora of
44

stories in my surroundings and international level regarding heroes and businessmen who were not
competent and deprived of traits but succeeded in their life. e.g A successful businessman in Pakistan
Malik Riyaz who are not well-educated nor inborn talented but they have qualities and traits that make
him up to mark or remarkable position owing to his leadership skill because leader leads them from the
front and take risks.
Finally, to wrap up according to the aforementioned arguments reach a conclusion that undoubtedly,
some people are born with natural talents and mindsets that make the most famous and unique but
some can develop these skills through struggle devotion, and utmost attention with the passage of time.
15. some people think that some individuals are naturally good leaders while others think
individuals can learn leadership skills. Discuss both views and give your opinion.
Opinions are divided on whether leadership is genetically passed to people or whether this is a skill
requiring effort to learn and master. I believe that both are potentially correct that individuals are born
with this trait, yet it can be learned later in life.
On the one hand, it is understandable why some people contend that great leaders are born not made.
This is because leadership is closely associated with determination and charisma, which are mostly
innate. As for the former, having determination would enable a person to endure hardships on the way
to becoming successful while possessing the latter quality is helpful in creating a good impression on
partners, thus gaining their trust and faith in achieving the same goal. A case in point is Steve Jobs, the
former CEO of Apple. His perseverance to pursue the manufacturing of ground-breaking digital products
has proved to be fruitful, which has turned Apple into a billion-dollar business and contributed to the
progress of the technological era.
On the other hand, I believe that leadership is not limited to one’s genes. Instead, it can be taught by
educational institutions and families. Regarding the former, it is common that many captainship classes
have been opened, and learners in these classes can have opportunities to manage others in the future.
As a result, many of them have acquired this skill and led a certain group of people or companies in their
lives. Concerning the latter, parents whose jobs require leadership-related skills, especially high-ranking
politicians, can instruct their children to master them. Donald Trump, for instance, is known as a
politician who has taught his children to become leaders, thus helping them to enter the White House.
In conclusion, I believe that the idea of some leaders being born naturally, and others being the product
of education, are not mutually exclusive, and examples of both exist within our society.

01. Some people say that the main aim of advertising is to improve the sales of products that people
do not really need. To what extent do you agree or disagree? 09-03-24
Many people think that the main purpose of advertisement is to push the sale of items that consumers
do not have a demand for. Despite the potential downside of commercials, I strongly disagree with the
statement given believing that product marketing has many other important roles nowadays.

From my point of view, instead of merely trying to lure people into buying unnecessary items,
advertising plays an essential part in introducing new products to the market and capturing the
customer’s demands. Firstly, marketing will help raise awareness for new product launches, by getting
potential customers exposed to the products continually. Then, when the shoppers see these items in
stores, they will have the intention to pick them for trial, which will bring new sources of revenue for
companies.
Secondly, advertising will help the company create demands which link to the shopper’s concerns. The
marketing department will do the research to define the latest trends or the needs of consumers to
create suitable content and attract them to the firm’s products. For example, back in the day, many
people were scared of the chemicals in fabric conditioner products that may harm their children’s skin.
To capture these conscious consumers, Unilever company advertised a sensitive product called Comfort
for sensitive skin-friendly babies that was approved by Pasteur’s quality test. Thanks to advertising,
consumers can easily approach quality products that truly meet their needs and wants.
In conclusion, advertising is an effective tool not only for companies to bring more sales and create
demands but also allows consumers to buy good products that are suitable for their needs.
02. Many famous sports players advertise sports products. Do the advantages of this trend outweigh
the disadvantages?
Nowadays, it has been observed that well-known sports stars advertise sports products. I believe the
upsides clearly outweigh the downsides because this will create a sense of maintaining fitness in society.
On the negative side, sometimes players could be greedy for money and encourage the product in the
market that can be harmful for a few public in terms of their health. Companies may spend a good
amount of money on advertising their product, and expect more profits in return. For instance, there is
added sugar in some soft drinks, which can lead to adverse effects on a diabetic person. However, by
implementing stringent regulations on product ingredients and ensuring clear warnings on packaging,
companies can mitigate potential health risks associated with their products. In this way, things that will
be available in the market contain ingredients that are approved by the government
On the positive side, an advertisement through famous folks will increase the company's overall
revenue. A few crowd might consider a sportsperson as their role model. As a result, they will buy things
under their influence. For example, the young generation watches NBA superstars and feels motivated
to do what they do in their daily routines. Moreover, sports products not only boost stamina and
endurance but also contribute significantly to overall physical well-being. On top of that, more people
will be involved in sports activities, and maintain their well-being.
In conclusion, the positives clearly outweigh the negatives because advertisements of sports products
will encourage people to maintain good health by having those products in their routine.

While many think that advertisements can lead to economic advantages, I believe that sellers should
also consider how realistic they present their product because people will expect what they get to be
the same as in the pictures.
Advertising is one of many methods to gain more exposure to a store's brand. Usually, people place an
advertisement in a place where there are a lot of people, such as crowded streets or social media
platforms. Because of this, people will know about the products and if they are interested, they will buy
them. Therefore, shops can reap more benefits. For example, placing an advertisement near the red
light makes the driver, who is currently stopping, look at the product.
However, every shop should be honest about what they sell by using the real product when promoting
it. If they edited the photos excessively, then people would expect the things that they purchase to be in
the same condition. This will cause disappointment when they receive their product because they are
not satisfied with what they have. For instance, a noodle restaurant tends to edit the food they are
selling with vibrant colours and additional toppings such as eggs, seaweed, and carrots. Yet, when
customers order it, they will only get a plain noodle that has a different presentation.
In conclusion, even though promoting business is crucial to the economic aspect, I agree that people
should mind how they advertise it. It is better to be realistic about what they are selling rather than
giving the feeling that they are lying about their products, which can lead to a bad reputation for the
store.
04. Some people say that advertising encourages us to buy things that we really do not need. Others
say that advertisement tell us about new product that may improve our lives. Which view do you
agree or disagree?
Advertisements have become an inevitable part in the modern society. Some sections of individuals
think that the promotion of business in various media inspires people to buy those products, while
others think that it can help increase the quality of the life by educating people about the recent
innovations and latest products in the market. This essay will discuss both these views and argue why
the advertisements can be a motivation for people, to spend on items that they do not want.
Even though the commercials are one of the ways to educate the masses about a new product or
innovation, there are other better ways for the company to adopt. For instance, there are various blog
catering to different industries, wherein passionate people can get to know the specifications of the
latest products. Additionally, by advertisements, the sole intention of the company is to drive sales of its
products. For example, it is widely known that the television ad campaigns are an effective way for the
corporations to increase their revenue and not to increase consciousness among people.
In comparison, because of the pure marketing brilliance, it instills a sense of desire in its viewers, who in
turn would spend their hard earned money on it. One clear such example is that everywhere, the sales
of products not advertised will be lower than any other comparable products, which has been promoted
in the market. Further, commercials can bring about recognition of the product among the people and
repeated viewing can instil a feeling, to try out the products. To illustrate, it has been shown in a recent
study that people would opt for brands they know rather than any other new product.

To conclude, I believe that the commercials can motivate the commoners to buy products that they do
not want. Hence, they serve the purposes of the companies to drive growth and not for informing
people about new innovations and product launches in the market.
05. Consumers are facing increasing number of advertisements from competing companies. To what
extent do you think consumers are influenced by advertisements? What measures can be taken to
protect them?
We see hundreds of commercials in our daily lives, on transportation, on the roads, on computers, in
the newspapers and even on mobile phones. This essay will discuss how much these adverts influence
us and what we can do about it.
Commercials persuade people to spend, even if it is not necessary. Advertising has become more
impactful and competitive among the companies that sell the same type of product. They promote the
unique features and possibly better aspects of their products compared to their competitors' on their
ads. They make consumers feel that they would fall behind in society if they do not buy these products.
Phone makers produce a new model of the mobile phone every year and their advertisements highlight
new or upgraded features that other phones in the market usually do not offer. As a result, people
would buy new model phones, even if their existing phones remain highly functional. This is an example
of how much advertisements influence people.
Although it is impossible to stop people from impulse buying, we can possibly have policies that protect
consumers in some ways. Some countries have Consumer Protection Act that helps consumers if they
get scammed or protects them if they dispute with the sellers. I recently bought a smartwatch from an
online merchant but found out that it was an imitation, even though it was priced the same as the
authentic item. I immediately informed the seller but he declined to admit that he was selling the
imitations and also to refund. I reported this matter to the local authorities and I was able to get a full
refund, thanks to the Consumer Protection Act.
In summary, advertisements that are competitively attractive often trigger us to buy things. As our
impulse purchases could get us into trouble, it would be great if there are some measures to protect us
against them.
06. Some people believe that advertisements are useful for viewers, while others think that they are
misleading and can't be trusted. Discuss both views and give your opinion.
Nowadays, marketing a product through an advertisement is ordinary for most of the items. Promoting
a product through a commercial ad is considered beneficial by some folks. On the contrary, other
individuals think of it as waste of time and untrue. This essay will discuss both this views and conclude
the essay by giving its opinion.
There are plenty of advantages for a user by seeing the commercial ad. The first of them is, delivering an
awareness among society. For instance, giving health alertness on the diseases like cancer caused by
using tobacco cigarettes. As a result, people will get knowledge of good and bad products, which will
help them to make the right choice of it. Moreover, it makes it easier for a customer to pick any item
with sufficient information. To give an example, some people are likely to have not enough details on
things they want to buy, which can be resolved by seeing the uses and features through the promotion
of that item. I believe such benefits are very useful for the customer to make the right decision.
48

Despite with the above advantages, some people think of commercial ads as wrong and not trustable.
Big companies do not always disclose all the information on any item, which causes a user to make a bad
choice of it. As a result, it seems a promising product to use but such things usually do not operate as
same after fewer use. In addition, some advertisements promote a food item which is dangerous for a
healthy lifestyle like cigarettes, alcohol, or any tobacco-contained products. In such ads, an item is
usually broadcasted by their favorite actor. Thus, their supporter often uses these items despite
knowing its bad impact. I think such commercials, raises questions on product existence among its users.
In conclusion, I firmly believe, that promoting the right product with enough information is a step in the
right direction and it increases lot of confidence for targeted customer on their decision doubts. Not
only it give detailed information, but it also promotes an awareness message among society for bad
products they have been using.
07. Advertising aimed at children should be banned. To what extent do you agree or
disagree?
Promotions that target youngsters and underage people should be restricted from showing. I largely
agree with this statement due to inappropriate ads and the child Is not financially capable of purchasing
online.
To commence with, Showing commercials to kids can be useful for brands. To explain , Various products
that are specifically targeted at children and those under 18 Years of age can buy their goods under their
parent's guidance. Therefore, buying goods under observation Is essential and companies can promote
their products to teenagers.
On the contrary, while targeting underage people, sometimes brands show inappropriate product ads.
In other words, companies specifically target people and show their commercials which are irrelevant to
them and sometimes offend society. For Instance, a very popular social media platform called Meta was
strict with their policy regarding advertising underage products in 2020 after receiving a court order
from India. As a result, businesses can not outsmart Individuals as well as social media platforms.
Furthermore, Children are not financially stable enough to make any purchases online. To explicate ,
adolescents are not earning any money, as they depend on their parent's income due to that they are
not financially stable enough to buy something online. For example, The government of China issued a
notice indicating that parents must monitor their children's online activity because of online sketchy
promotions. Thus, Brands can not trick most teenagers with their offers and commercials.
To conclude, although huge multinationals can earn more money by showing ads to under 18 years
people yet, I believe that display promotions for youngsters should be banned as many times It Is very
disturbing as well as for children not being able to afford that product.
08. Advertisements are becoming more and more common in our everyday life. Is it a positive or
negative development? 08.06.24
The development of business has undeniably led to a proliferation of advertising on various forms of
media. Personally, I believe that this phenomenon is both positive and negative.
49
WhatsApp - 01848361793

On the one hand, there are three main benefits of advertising to society. To begin with, thanks to
commercials, customers can be informed of newly launched products and services. In other words, they
are aware of the array of selections available that align with their preferences and needs; otherwise,
they are confined to only a narrow range of products. Another noticeable advantage is that companies
can reach their potential consumers, capturing more market shares and business growth. In addition,
the expansion of advertising can create far-reaching employment opportunities, ranging from design to
photography and content writing. On a larger scale, advertising serves as a bridge between
manufacturers and buyers, expanding business opportunities and raising living standards.
On the other hand, it is important to acknowledge the negative aspects of advertising. Firstly, deceptive
advertising practices can mislead consumers and result in dissatisfaction when products do not meet
expectations. This is evident in advertisements for skincare products which are all advertised as being
able to boost genes and make skin look visibly younger within just one week. However, there are no
studies proving that they have abilities to do such things. Secondly, the persuasive nature of advertising
can tempt people to make unnecessary purchases or acquire things that they do not really need. This
trend can lead to consumerism and potentially waste consumption. For example, it has been observed
that the young generation nowadays spends a huge amount of money unconsciously buying fashion
items such as clothing, shoes and bags. This can be explained by the extensive exposure to
advertisements available on social media like Facebook and TikTok.
In conclusion, although advertising has certain benefits to society, it also involves deceptions and
compulsive consumption. Striking a balance between the benefits of advertising and its drawbacks is
essential and responsible advertising practices that prioritize transparency should be encouraged.
09. Consumers are faced with increasing numbers of advertisements from competing
companies. To what extent do you think consumers are influenced by advertisements?
What measures can be taken to protect them?
The number of adverts shown nowadays has considerably risen. In my opinion, these advertisements
have a great influence on consumer behaviour. Nevertheless, governments shouldn't take any measures
to avoid it due to the right that companies have which is to show their products and services to the
projected consumers. Rather must be the community who have the means to protect themselves who
take measures to avoid manipulation.
Firstly, advertisements aim to make people buy a product or service sometimes even if they don't need
it. Such as the jackets on sale in the summer. therefore people should be aware of these adverts even
though some take advantage of this practice and only buy their things in outlets.
Besides that, Families should protect children from manipulation. This can be done by teaching them
that advertisements sometimes are exaggerated in order to have a bigger influence on people. For
instance, all toy adverts are filled with unreal powers and features such as Spiderman, Flash and so on
that kids have the tendency to believe but they aren't real.
On the other hand, with streaming channels like Netflix, Amazon, YouTube and Apple TV, you pay for
membership in order to avoid any kind of advertisement this way community who have enough money
is protected from propaganda.

To conclude, Advertisement is natural, and even more, it is a right companies have. Therefore it couldn't
be banned but families can protect themselves by performing some preventive activities that could help
them to make good decisions without any manipulation.
10. Nowadays some consumers are less influenced by advertising than in the past. What are
the reasons? Is it a positive or negative development?
Advertising seeks to reach potential customers in order to boost the sales of goods. Although large
quantities of advertisements can be seen in various kinds of media, their influence on consumer choices
is declining mainly due to the reasons discussed below and I believe the trend is more positive than
negative.
The first reason why some people do not trust advertised products any more is that producers and
advertisers tend to exaggerate the merits and downplay the weaknesses. Advertising that is commonly
seen but fails to meet consumers’ expectations makes them disappointed or even antipathetic to
commercials. Gradually, advertising becomes less significant in affecting people’s buying decisions as
they have lost their confidence in it.
Furthermore, the increasing number of buyers are more inclined to make final decisions by comparing
qualities online, instead of putting faith in advertisements only. For instance, people have more channels
to search for the product’s information, while in the past they were largely dependent on the
advertisement. Internet users can easily see product reviews and comments on social media, which is
considered to be more trustworthy and objective.
From my perspective, It is a positive trend that purchasers can weigh pros and cons based on their own
judgments from various sources, rather than solely relying on advertising promotions. On the one hand,
consumers can independently decide what to purchase without being influenced by advertisers, which
makes shoppers rational and able to buy high-quality goods that are good value for money. On the other
hand, those advertisers would pay more attention to the quality of products per se and make an effort
to meet customer satisfaction. In this way, it is beneficial to the development of society as a whole in
the long term.
Overall, I think the declining influence of advertising on consumers does more good than harm
Crime
01. Many criminals commit further crime as soon as they are released from prison. What do you
think are the causes of this? What possible solutions can you suggest? 18-04-24
It is often stated that most criminals continue to violate laws, once they return to their society from jail.
This essay will discuss some reasons that may cause them to act this way while providing a solution to
tackle this problem at the end.
To begin with, some criminals are inherently born with certain psychopathy traits that are incurable. For
instance, they will never be able to fully control their urges to not break the law like a reasonable person
is able to do. Such mentally deranged criminals will forever be outlaws. Meanwhile, criminals who were
forced to commit an offence due to their circumstances are a different cause. Take for example a newly
51
WhatsApp - 01848361793

released man who is homeless, if he can't afford to eat food then he will be drawn to steal it instead.
Thus, there are many causes that may contribute to the question as to why freshly released convicts
keep committing offences.
However, this problem may be addressed with a few suggestions. First, the prison facilities should
introduce better educational programs that work towards rehabilitating the convicts after release,
especially those with psychopathy tendencies. Second, the government should keep some funds aside
to help the released convicts be assimilated into their community by providing them with financial
benefits to help kickstart their new journey. Also, programs should be placed to help them find jobs
rather than being discriminated against because of their criminal records.
To conclude, offenders may have plenty of reasons that cause them to act criminally after release but if
the government budgets and plans properly, then it is possible to help them rehabilitate back into
society.
02. Some people believe that children that commit crimes should be punished. Others think the
parents should be punished instead. Discuss both views and give your own opinion. 09-05-24
Some today are calling for parents to be held responsible for crimes committed by their children. In my
opinion, there are exceptions but many cases merit greater punishment for parents.
Those arguing against this reform point out that parents are not always culpable. There are numerous
instances of loving parents who raise their child well but social problems still manifest from a young age.
This is often the case if the child suffers from a mental illness such as schizophrenia or a dissociative
disorder. These conditions may stem from simple genetics, in which case parents should not be
punished, or from trauma the primary caregivers are unaware of. For example, if they have been abused
at school or by a relative then it follows logically the offending, rather than innocent, party should be
brought to justice.
Despite the important exceptions above that courts must sort through, parental abuse and neglect
should be punishable. Studies have shown that most young children who commit crimes have been
abused in some way by their parents. Serial killers are an extreme but useful case in point. Nearly every
serial killer begins antisocial behaviour from a young age, including the criminal torture of animals.
There are also no known examples of serial killers coming from happy homes; they are all the product of
varying degrees of abuse from their parents. This is clear evidence that parents play the pivotal role in
molding the psyche of young children. As children grow up and have more influences this may change
but for young children, parents are chiefly responsible and courts should recognise this fact.
In conclusion, there are some cases where parents may not be at fault for criminal acts by children but
in most situations they are the driving force. Trying parents for their child’s crime and seeking treatment
for the children would therefore be a modern, progressive, and positive reform.
03. Some people think technology development decrease crime, while others believe it actually
encourage crime. Discuss both views and give your opinion. 2024
One of the most prevalent trends in the contemporary world is the cumulative increase in crime-
preventive innovations. Many people argue that technologies promote crimes, while others believe that
52

they reduce the crime ratio in society. Both sides of this notion will be carefully analysed before
constructing an inference and I will give my opinion.
On the one hand, artificial intelligence and central databases. The main reason is that with the help of
algorithm information provided by artificial intelligence, this system provides solutions within a short
period of time. For example, recently in New Delhi- India, a murder mystery was solved with the help of
technology, even the person was dead and the police reached the criminal because the programme
caught the criminal’s face and spread all over the country. Another factor is that nowadays countries
have their own central database, including fingerprints and the criminal history of criminals, if any
incident happens police reach criminals' places and trace them easily. Moreover, police can trace the
mobile locations of any suspected person. As a result, it is evident that technology always helps to
understand medical science and engineering subjects.
On the other hand, there is no doubt new inventions sometimes become dangerous for human beings.
Claver criminals go to the dark web servers and learn new ideas to harm innocent adults. Sometimes
bad people make videos to blackmail celebrities and demand money. In addition, some sites provide
guidance, on how to make weapons and teens learn from these websites and enter into the crime
world. For instance, some militants throw bombs on crowds and kill them, ISIS is making weapons and
blasts on crowded buildings. As a consequence, it is apparent why technologies are harmful for
generations.
In my opinion, new inventions always contribute to preventing crimes if they are used for good motives
and domain operators should ban violent sites, so everyone can enjoy this beautiful earth peacefully.
In conclusion, following the analysis of both sides, it is clear new research brings new thoughts to the
regime, however, we need to check on wrong inventions. Further, it is predicted that the Government
should be vigilant about their people’s activities, so they can not access new technologies and motivate
new startups for the state's growth.
04. Some people think most crimes are the result of circumstances like poverty and other social
problems. Others believe that they are caused by people who are bad in nature. Discuss both
views and give your own opinion. 07.09.24 & Feb.2024
Nowadays, there is a debate over whether the prevalent crimes stem from the circumstances of
criminals or their bad intuition and beliefs. In this essay, I will try to discuss both sides and give my
perspective on this issue.
To begin with, there are some scientific studies that claim people's nature can affect their social
manners and attitudes. In that respect, some people tend to have more potential to commit crimes. For
example, statistical studies reveal that criminals share some specific genes that can be considered as the
source of criminal actions.
On the other hand, it is a scientific fact that not all intuitive things can turn into our behaviour. The
environment can play a pivotal role in our choice of actions. Furthermore, education has a crucial effect
on future deeds and can be an effective hindrance in committing crimes. For instance, children who
have risen up in poverty and were deprived of being instructed and educated are more prone to errors
and crimes. The next factor involved in people's motivation toward committing a crime is their economic
53
WhatsApp - 01848361793

status. For example, in societies with a large gap between people's incomes, the rate of crimes like
robbery and the like are considerably high in comparison with the other societies.
To sum up, Although nature can affect our deeds, the more important factor seems to be the
background and the current situation of people's lives. The prior education and current economic status
of people make them more susceptible to committing crimes.
05. Many offenders commit more crimes after serving the first punishment. Why is this
happening, and what measures can be taken to tackle this problem?
There is a worrying trend that after undergoing the initial punishment, many convicts are involved in
further criminal activities. Personally, there is a wide range of contributing culprits behind this puzzling
issue, however, it is not necessarily beyond solution.
To begin with, the taxing problem of re-offence could stem from several factors. The first one is financial
hardship. The reason is that they lack some essential skills and have an insufficient level of education to
be able to walk into a job that enables them to sustain daily life. They, therefore, are likely to be lured to
engage in activities without regard to legal constraints. Another aspect that is worth mentioning is the
refusal of companies to rehabilitate prisoners regardless of their ability. This could come down to the
fact that employers tend to consider offenders would put safety, security, and morality at risk, and along
with it comes discrimination against them.
A number of practical actions could be taken to overcome this hurdle. It is highly advisable for prisons to
organize comprehensive job training programs. For example, courses such as making handicrafts, wood
furniture, labour tools, and sewing clothes could be arranged regularly where lawbreakers can be
instructed by vocational trainers, thereby facilitating a successful reintegration into society for
wrongdoers afterwards. Furthermore, what the government should do is reduce taxes on companies
that employ people who have been in prison. By doing so, they could help individuals establish a sense
of belonging and community. Not until the authorities enforce that policy will the likelihood of
reoffending decrease.
In conclusion, reasons for recidivism vary and it is high time these aforementioned measures should be
adopted to redeem the situation.
06. Young people who commit crimes should be treated in the same way as adults. To what
extent do you agree or disagree? 02.11.24
I believe in certain situations this can be done; however, a blanket application might be unfair. This
essay will discuss my perspective in detail and provide a logical conclusion.
The primary factor to support this is that it can act as a deterrent inducing fear in the minds of the
youth. As a result, the chances of them being involved in a criminal activity can decrease significantly.
For instance, as per a study conducted in the USA, juveniles under the threat of harsh retribution usually
refrain from participating in illegal actions. Another factor is that it can be socially beneficial as
youngsters are the future of society. If their inclination towards crime decreases due to regressive
punishment, it can eventually build a safe environment.
However, unfiltered imposition of such a norm can be unfair. First of all, it cannot be ignored that many
children are involved in such actions without any clear idea of the consequences. Therefore, punishing
54
WhatsApp - 01848361793
IELTS Pro BD
them brutally might have an irreversible negative impact on their psychology spoiling their entire life.
Apart from this, some children commit crimes in dire situations of need such as poverty and hunger. For
example, multiple cases of theft and stealing on teenagers in Indian courts are for lifting food items and
books. If they are reprimanded severely for such cases, it might turn them into hardened
criminals/repeat offenders instead of helping them reform.
To conclude, the severity of punishment for children like adults is a matter of debate. In my opinion, this
can be done in certain situations as it can maintain the right amount of fear and create a crime-free
society with time. However, I believe that this cannot be applied to every juvenile crime as this can
negatively impact their minds leaving very little scope for turning back.
07. Studies have shown that most criminals have low levels of education. Because of this many
believe that the best way to reduce crime is to educate prisoners so they can get a job after
being released. To what extent do you agree or disagree?
Research has proven that the majority of offenders have low levels of education, thus educating these
people might make them more likely to be employed after prison. I strongly agree with this statement
for several reasons, which will be discussed in this essay.
Some people might argue that certain criminals such as those with mental illnesses cannot be
rehabilitated, hence allowing them to reenter work environments might be detrimental to the
development of companies. Furthermore, the required knowledge to be employed in well-paid
occupations generally needs years of studying from a young age, when one’s cognitive abilities are at
their best state, to obtain and master. This makes teaching these kinds of knowledge to convicts, who
are mostly over the age of 18, seem like a virtually impossible act. However, captives with psychological
disorders are of the minority and could be distinguished and disqualified from educational campaigns
according to their medical records and behavior. Additionally, prisoners could be employed in the bulk
of minimum to average-wage jobs as they do not require high-level education.
Granted, providing inmates with proper education can potentially curb the number of prison escape
attempts and cases of violence between prisoners, which are typically caused by a lack of purpose. This
is because it does not only give convicts a useful activity to participate in and kill time, but also possibly
grants them a concrete goal to work towards. In addition, education makes prisoners well-equipped in
terms of awareness and knowledge, which could help them thrive in the outside world and not be
forced to resort to felonies to make a living. Hence, this directly contributes to the act that immensely
decreases the number of petty crimes like theft or burglary. This is evidenced by Japan, where inmates
are given thorough workplace training throughout their time of service, which played a prime role in
stultifying this country’s crime rate, making it the nation with the least amount of criminals worldwide.
To summarize, while it is undeniable that a minority of criminals should not reintegrated into the
community, providing proper education can undoubtedly rehabilitate the majority of convicts, which
could ultimately result in a considerable decline in crime rates.
08. Some people think all lawbreakers should be put into prison, while others believe that there

It is often argued that prison should be the only punishment for all lawbreakers, while others think that
there are better alternatives. This essay will discuss both views, before coming to the conclusion that
both are equally valid.
Firstly, prison is definitely a good form of punishment for any kind of law-breaking. In other words,
people sometimes don't care about the law because of light punishments, such as 5$ for overspeeding,
10$ for parking faults, 200$ for driving with alcohol etc. These kind of penalties make people not to care
about the law. The government can put them in prison for a minimum of 2 hours to a lifetime,
depending on the crime category. Furthermore, people should feel the loneliness of prison that can
prevent them from repeating the same mistake. For example, In Bangladesh, the government has
revised currency penalties to prison against some categories of law-breaking.
On the other hand, prison has some severe bad impacts on our personal life. For instance, a man or
woman can be humiliated socially. In society, people generally see them negatively and abandon them
from different social activities or invitations, like marriages, birthday programs, religious programs etc.
Punishment in prison against small faults, may ruin someone's career due to depression, demotivation
etc. and lead them into drug addiction.
In conclusion, both statements have negative and positive views. I believe that some balanced
punishments can be implemented for equilibrium which allows people to feel the worst sides of the
faults and not to repeat that again.
09. Some people think it is better for one single legal system throughout the world. Others say
countries should have their own laws. Discuss both views and give your opinion. 13.06.24
While some believe that all nations should impose a unified legal system, others contend that each
country should have its own. In general, a single legal framework could provide benefits but also
potentially cause disadvantages.
Proponents of a single system of law presume that it would lessen illegal activities in society. In other
words, a unified judicial system could ensure that individuals who commit crimes would be punished,
regardless of age. For example, capital punishment would be imposed on all juvenile murderers
because, in some countries, such as Korea, young offenders do not face any punishments for murder
due to their age. Additionally, using an identical legal structure in every nation could promote economic
growth. In simpler terms, it would shorten unnecessary procedures and paperwork related to
international trade as well as cooperation. Therefore, if a legal framework could be used globally, it
would help to control crime rates and develop the economy.
However, if one law structure is promulgated worldwide, it could considerably erode a country’s
national identity. Indeed, some countries have long-standing religious beliefs, making them outstanding
among others. For instance, India is well-known for worshipping cows because Indians believe this
animal embodies Mother Earth. Consequently, consuming cows is an illegal activity and blasphemy in
India. Furthermore, one specific law for all countries might not be able to accommodate the diverse
needs and values of different societies, potentially leading to tensions and conflicts. Hence, a single
judicial system could adversely impact the culture and society of a country.
56
WhatsApp - 01848361793

In conclusion, a single-law system would help decrease crime rates and grow the economy, but it could
also possibly eliminate a nation's unique customs and traditions. In my opinion, human beings should
balance both approaches to maximize benefits.
Environment
01. In some countries, there is not enough recycling of waste materials (e.g. paper, glass and
cans). What are the reasons and solutions?
It is true that many countries do not recycle enough waste materials. There are many possible reasons
for this, but I believe that it is a problem that can be solved.
The main reason for the lack of recycling is that governments fail to implement effective recycling laws
and policies. Without clear guidelines and legal consequences, citizens and corporations simply lack the
incentive to properly dispose of their rubbish. Secondly, many corporations are more concerned with
maximizing profits than protecting the environment. These companies may dump waste illegally into
rivers and oceans to avoid the costs of recycling or proper disposal. Lastly, many ordinary citizens do not
make any effort to recycle. Some of them are simply unaware of the ecological benefits of recycling.
Others may find recycling to be an inconvenient and time-consuming chore. In some neighbourhoods,
for example, recycling bins are located far away, making it a hassle to recycle.
There are a number of ways we could address these issues. First and foremost, governments should
pass laws to require recycling and then punish those who violate these laws. For instance, corporations
that illegally dump waste should face severe fines and even jail time for their executives. Strict
enforcement of penalties would strongly encourage companies to adopt cleaner practices. Governments
should also build more recycling centers and make them more accessible to citizens. Simple solutions
like placing recycling bins next to normal trash cans would make the process more convenient.
Moreover, schools and community centers should spread awareness of the importance of recycling. If
people understand that recycling helps conserve energy and resources for future generations, they may
be more motivated to do their part.
In summary, the lack of recycling is caused by a variety of factors, but with the right mix of solutions,
most countries could likely increase their recycling significantly.
02. The international committee should act immediately to ensure that all countries reduce fossil
fuels, such as gas and oil. Do you agree or disagree? 2024
Nowadays, it is true that the increasing use of fossil fuels has brought much detrimental influence on the
world, therefore, I strongly concur with the given view that global institutions should step up to do
something, in the hopes of supervising every country to decrease fossil fuels.
It is obvious that the use of fossil fuels can lead to global warming, thus having negative effects on both
the earth and our daily life. Firstly, global warming can cause an increase in extreme weather like
rainstorms and typhoons, which may bring us human beings inconvenience. For example, people would
be unable to work on base when there is a typhoon dominating the city, which may affect working
57
WhatsApp - 01848361793
IELTS Pro BD
efficiency. Moreover, global warming may even lead to the disappearance of some small islands. In this
case, the residents in those places will lose their homes and jobs, thus undermining social stability.
Additionally, there is no denying fact that the international committee has the obligation to prevent
further damage. The international committee is initially set to solve global issues and problems about
the development of the earth. Possible bad effects that the overuse of fossil fuels may bring on earth
are definitely within the global committee's responsibility. Moreover, its acts like some policies or
suggestions could be served as role models for other institutions, which may benefit both the earth and
human beings.
All in all, because of the listed reasons, I do agree with the statement that the international committee
needs to do something to make sure all countries on the earth could reduce fossil fuels.
03. Innovation is often driven by the pursuit of profit and economic growth . However , some
argue that it should prioritize addressing social and environmental issues . Discuss both sides
and give your own opinion
Nowadays, technology plays a crucial role in human life. This is the reason why some people believe that
innovation is frequently motivated by financial gain and economic expansion. While others disagree with
the idea and think that it should tackle social and environmental concerns first. In the following
paragraph, both of these viewpoints will be discussed in detail before the conclusion is reached.
On the one hand, the major reason that folks say that innovation is driven by the facet of profit and
economic growth is that new innovations can help a company minimize cost. In other words, utilizing
robots and machines instead of humans can help a company reduce employee expenses. Additionally,
new innovations can help to increase revenue. To illustrate, smartphone companies often create new
feathers in their products in order to attract customers.
On the other hand, one of the obvious reasons that some individuals think that it should prioritize
handling social and environmental issues is that there are a large number of children, particularly in
remote areas, who struggle to access education. In simple terms, in Thailand, most students in distant
areas have relatively low scores on Thai national tests compared to those in urban areas. Therefore,
technology and innovation should be utilized to address this problem. On top of that, there should be an
innovation to mitigate global warming. That is to say, fume emitted from cars and motorbikes
contributes significantly to global warming.
To summarize, although there are numerous reasons why individuals claim that innovation is driven by
profitability and the growth of the economy, I strongly believe that it should prioritize addressing social
and environmental problems.
04. Some people think that economic progress is the only way to end poverty while others believe
that it is causing damage to the environment and so should be stopped. Discuss both these

Some argue that the economic progression threatens the environment and should be ceased.
Conversely, others think that supporting economic growth is the only way to put an end to poverty and
this essay agrees with this statement because a positive climate provides employment to people.

On the one hand, many industrial activities that drive the wheels of the economy cause harm to the
environment. This is because many factories use energy to produce their products. The electricity to
power up the machinery is generated by burning coals and during the process they release greenhouse
gasses into the atmosphere. Their freight also uses fossil fuels to deliver the products across the
country. Burning fossil fuels contributes to the carbon emission which increases the global temperature.
For example, many factories in the Rungkut Industry Area require electricity to power the production
equipment. This electricity is supplied by a coal-fired power plant in East Java. However, in 2019, the
government compelled these manufacturers to plan on emission reduction and saving energy programs.
This measure was taken to lower their impact on the environment.
On the other hand, these businesses absorb many workers and provide jobs for people. Without these,
the unemployment rate will be high and residents will face difficulty finding a job let alone to afford
living necessities. Many of them will live under the poverty line and criminalities will be high. Individuals
who are pressured by unfavourable conditions will choose to rob to get money. In contrast, take into
account, that the majority of Singaporeans live above the minimum standard and the country has a low
number of criminal cases. Therefore, this essay believes that ceasing economic activities is not the right
thing to do because they support the livelihood of people.
In conclusion, although activities related to economic growth contribute to the Earth’s damage, stopping
the progress to end poverty is not the right way to address the problem because it will disrupt
employment rates and cause individuals to lose their source of income.
05. Advances in science and technology have contributed to various environmental problems.
Some people suggest that adopting a simpler lifestyle would help preserve the environment,
while others maintain that scientific and technological solutions can resolve these issues.
Discuss both views and give your own opinion.
Advances in science and technology have had a negative impact on the climate. Some people believe
that a simple lifestyle can protect nature, but others believe that technology and scientific methods can
solve environmental problems. This article will discuss both perspectives and give my personal opinion
on the matter.
Today, we are facing increasing global warming and greenhouse gas emissions due to the increasing cost
of carbon dioxide emissions resulting from continuous advancements in automobile production and use.
For example, more and more people are buying their own vehicles and rarely using mass transportation.
Therefore, air pollution is increasing dramatically. Studies show that more than 60% of the population
uses their own transport to get to work, especially in large cities. As a result, environmental pollution
has increased dramatically over the past 20 years. In comparison, a moderate lifestyle can solve this
problem. In my opinion, ecological solutions such as building more bike lanes, car sharing, and improved
public transport will help to at least partially solve this problem.
On the other hand, science and technology have developed many eco-friendly solutions that may help in
sustaining the natural environment. They often use artificial intelligence such as robots, which
significantly increases seed and plant production. For example, in dry areas of the planet such as Africa,
59

growing lab-created green plants could alter the natural environment and provide food resources.
Clearly, it provides life and ensures survival for many species.
In conclusion, after discussing these two topics, I believe we should strive to strike a balance between
technological innovation and adopting a simple lifestyle that preserves our environment. Technologies
may help protect lives, but their overuse can lead to damage and destruction.
06. Many people believe that bicycle is a healthy and environmentally friendly mode of transport.
However, it is still unpopular in many countries. What are the reasons for that? What could be
done to encourage the use of bicycles among the wider population?
Among various modes of transportation, many individuals believe that using bicycles not only improves
their health but is also environmentally friendly, even though it remains unpopular in numerous
countries. This essay will delve into the reasons behind the lack of popularity of bicycles and suggest
measures to promote their use among the wider population.
There are several compelling reasons to opt for bicycles. Firstly, bicycles are highly efficient for short-
distance travel, allowing people to easily avoid traffic compared to cars. Additionally, bicycles offer a
sustainable mode of travel due to their eco-friendliness and fuel efficiency. Moreover, bicycles are
extensively used for deliveries in certain countries, such as Myanmar, where delivery companies utilize
them to reach destinations faster. Therefore, there are substantial reasons to encourage the use of
bicycles.
Governments should play a vital role in promoting bicycle usage. For example, investing in bicycle-
friendly infrastructures like designated lanes is crucial to ensure the safety of riders. Additionally,
authorities should establish secure bicycle parking areas to prevent theft. Moreover, implementing and
enforcing laws that prioritize the safety of cyclists is paramount. For instance, higher compensation
should be mandated for car users who cause harm to cyclists. Furthermore, governments can incentivize
bicycle travel through reward systems, such as providing coupons for accessories and maintenance
services. By adopting these measures, the public will be more inclined to use bicycles.
In conclusion, despite the evident benefits of bicycles in terms of health and sustainability, efforts to
popularize their usage need to be intensified. Governments should take proactive steps to encourage
bicycle use through infrastructural development, safety measures, and incentive programs. This
concerted effort will inevitably lead to a surge in bicycle ridership as the public becomes more aware of
its numerous advantages.
07. Some people say that government should focus on reducing environmental pollution and
housing problems to help people prevent illness and disease. To what extend do you agree or
disagree?
It has been argued that the state should pay attention to environmental deterioration as well as
accommodation related issues, in order to prevent illness and disease. I totally agree with the aforesaid
notion. In this essay, I will discuss, in the first paragraph, how it would be feasible for the government
with the support of levy paid by the community and in the second paragraph, the needfulness of huge
infrastructure and a large number of efforts which are only within the reach of government fundings.
To commence with, the taxes paid by citizens of a nation are crucially significant and this collective
amount which directly goes into the government's bank account should be utilised for people's benefit.
60

In other words, almost every nation collects legal taxes from their citizens such as property tax, water
fine, housing contribution, business tax and taxes on the purchase of gold and allied elements. So, it is a
moral responsibility of a country to look after the basic necessities such as a proper and livable
environment along with housing facilities, especially for the people of the lower economic groups. For
instance, in India, the city called 'Chandigarh' is the most well-organised city which is planned and
monitored by authorities as far as environmental pollution and dwellings are concerned. As a result, the
population in Chandigarh are more healthy and living in a spacious and clean atmosphere than the rest
of the places.
Secondly, to control pollution from various modalities and to provide decent living place needs
extravagant resources, which are within a reach of any national fundings and it is not possible for a
single individual or a group of people. To make it clear, I would like to exemplify that, air pollution can
be controlled by applying stringent rules, to next water pollution can be controlled by providing
excellent sewage control channels, then noise disturbances can be minimized by no horn policies or
setting appropriate regulations, after that farming which is the largest industry providing food could be
supported with infrastructure, knowledge and subsidies to farmers. Finally, the slum areas could be
converted into neat and clean apartments with basic amenities like electricity and water. All these things
can be only done by democracy as it requires huge money.
In conclusion, a country should be responsible for providing a clean atmosphere and a healthy living
place to their citizens. In my opinion, I believe that it is absolutely within the capacity of a nation and the
taxes paid by people should be justified by giving them facilities.
10. Some people believe that it is possible for a country to be economically successful and have a
clean environment. Others argue that these two aims are not compatible. Discuss both views
and give your opinion.
There are different views regarding the country's possibility to achieve success in the economy and
sustaining the environment's cleanliness. While some people argue that it is an impossible task to do,
others strongly believe the goal is still achievable. I personally agree with the latter idea because the
advancement in current technology is capable of helping a country to achieve both objectives.
It is well known that one of the main drivers of economic growth in one country is local businesses, as
simple as the more the transactions the bigger the impact. To fulfil big demand from the market, many
ventures are required to mass-produce their products. In addition to that, heavy supply chain and
logistic networks are essential to them for reaching more customers. Consequently, a high number of
energy resources is needed to fully support those activities and many developing countries chose fossil-
based sources more due to availability and processing capability. However, based on one independent
study, the previously stated decision contributed to more than 70% of environmental pollution,
especially in the air.
To solve that problem, many countries that already faced the same issue for many years, started to
move to a greener policy. On top of growing their economy, they are challenged to find better
alternative ways that also sustain the environment and they found it. Despite the difficulty, with the
help of technology, some of them started to migrate to cleaner options for energy power plants, such
61

as nuclear-based and biomass-based. Additionally, many countries also utilise the new available
electronic transportation modes for handling the distribution. Those policies have proven successful in
reducing the pollution from industries to only 15%, per 2013 research in 10 European countries.
In conclusion, despite the challenge, with the support of current technology, it is possible for a country
to achieve an economically successful state while sustaining the level of environmental cleanliness.
Some cities have introduced "vehicle-free days" when private vehicles like cars, trucks and motorcycles
are banned from entering the city centre, with only public transport modes like buses, taxis and metros
allowed. I believe the merits of such an initiative outweigh its drawbacks if properly implemented with
supporting measures.
The primary advantage of vehicle-free days is the potential to alleviate urban traffic congestion and air
pollution. During peak hours, private vehicles are a major contributor to road gridlocks. Restricting their
entry into city centres can significantly ease this strain on road infrastructure. Moreover, vehicular
emissions are a key source of urban smog, and curbing vehicles will inherently improve air quality for
residents.
However, there are also concerns about the inconvenience and disruptions such a policy may cause. For
instance, those with limited mobility like the elderly or disabled, who rely on private transport, would
face difficulties in commuting. Furthermore, there may be public resentment towards the enforcement
of such restrictions, potentially leading to unruly behaviour.
These issues can be effectively mitigated through prudent complementary actions by authorities.
Exemptions or "green channels" could be provided for specially-abled groups to use private vehicles.
Ride-hailing services can be promoted to offer convenient alternative transport options. Simultaneously,
robust monitoring and public awareness campaigns can enhance understanding and compliance with
the policy.
Overall, while implementing vehicle-free days has its challenges, the positive impact on decongesting
roads and improving environmental sustainability is substantial. With coherent planning and pragmatic
supporting measures by the government, I am confident that the benefits will outweigh the limitations,
paving the way for more liveable, green and smart cities.

These days and age, there is a multitude of residential areas that were built many decades ago. These
places are suitable just for individuals who lived in this period due to this appeared many problems now.
In the following essay, the main challenges associated with this situation and appropriate solutions will
be suggested.
To begin with, the towns and cities supplied by old constructions face many problems. First of all, it is
the main reason why a number of local citizens move to another place due to the opportunities that
these areas provide in terms of the Internet, household appliances and a distance for work or study.
Meanwhile, building new modern houses instead of them is far more expensive, so they choose to
replace their current region. Secondly, these past buildings can not protect their family from various
environmental diseases such as floods and earthquakes according to the imperfect condition of the
houses in terms of quality. Moreover, the older the city buildings are, the more unfavourable the
warming systems they use. For example, there are many places that use coal and wood for warming
their homes which results in emitting a huge amount of carbon dioxides.
Moving to the solutions, the main obvious one is to knock down these places time by time leading to the
construction of the modern building instead of them. As a result, the citizens might be provided with
essential needs such as household appliances, hot water and oven that use gas to warm the house.
Furthermore, it will be better to use these places for tourist purposes. For instance, attracting foreign
tourists to show the national wealth of the country by demonstrating their culture, national meals and
games or historical buildings. Hence, these actions will not require a big amount of expenditure to
recreate a modern town.
In conclusion, there are a number of challenges caused by conserving old buildings among different age
groups. Therefore, the necessary measures should be taken to for their further development.
01. Some people say that what children watch on television influences their behavior, while
others say the amount of time children spend watching television influences their behavior.
Discuss both views and give your opinion. 06.07.24
Nowadays, TV is an important part of children and they spend a great deal of time watching its
programs. Some people claim that the content of TV programs influences children's behaviour the most.
Nevertheless, another group of people oppose them and imply that the duration of watching TV is more
determinative. In this essay, I will examine both perspectives and at last, I will express my opinion.
In past, children used to play a lot of games together. However, with the advent of TV, they spend a lot
of time watching several programs on TV. People who think the duration is more important believe that
devoting a lot of time to TV programs hinders their activities and makes children more introverted. In
the long run, it can cause numerous mental and physical disorders. For example, scientific research has
proved that obesity in children is one of the consequences of sitting for long hours in front of a TV even
the lack of enough interaction with others can bring about depression.
However, despite the opinion of the above group, the other group recognizes the content of TV
programs as the main influential motivator of children's deeds. They easily are influenced by characters

or heroes watching TV and they will try to imitate their actions. These role models can wreak havoc in
their lives. Furthermore, the values induced by TV may affect other training and education that are
taught by their parents and educators. For instance, if a child find one as their idol, they believe what
that idol says or does.
To conclude the aforementioned material, Although both the amount of time and the content of TV
programs are mediating how children behave, I must admit that the content of TV programs can
outweigh the duration and parents should meticulously investigate what their kids watch on TV.
02. Today more and more people are using mobile phones and computers. Thus, people
are losing the ability to communicate face to face. To what extent do you agree or
disagree? 05-03-24
In recent times, there have been increasing concerns about the loss of personal and intimate
interactions due to the ubiquity of smartphones and computer systems. Although some people hold this
view, however, I completely disagree. This essay will discuss the relevance of mobile gadgets in bringing
people closer together followed by a reasoned conclusion thereafter.
To begin with, the advancement in the field of telecommunication has made it possible for friends and
colleagues to connect with one another despite limitations. As a result, in certain conditions where a
gathering is not feasible, they are still able to share ideas. For instance, during the COVID-19 era, while
board meetings, consultations and ward rounds were not possible, staff had to rely on online platforms
to keep in touch. Thus helping to solve the inconvenient state.
Similarly, this face-to-face communication sometimes can only be achieved by computers. Accordingly,
newscasters and reporters send feeds to their partners in other regions for broadcasting via video calls.
For example, in the reporting of foreign information, local broadcasters are able to receive direct live
streaming of the whole event for their colleagues in a different location without necessarily being there.
Hence making sure there is a transfer of information.
In conclusion, even though some people seemed to assume that the influence of recent sophisticated
communication devices is deteriorating interpersonal relationships, I am of the opinion that technology
has linked us like never before even in an unideal situation, at work or in our social lives.
03. It is suggested that everyone should have a car, a television and a fridge. Do disadvantages of
this development for society outweigh advantages?”
It is widely argued that every person should have one of the most popular modern inventions such as
television , the refrigerator and the car . Although I think that this trend can lead to some obvious
harmful consequences , I believe that the advantages of these devices can outweigh the disadvantages .
On the one hand , the excessive use of these facilities may lead to environmental pollution and lack of
electricity in the long term . Firstly , cars remain one of the major reasons for air pollution because the
engine of vehicles releases a lot of toxic gas into the air such as CO2 which remain a harmful gas for the
environment . Secondly , it is clear that television and refrigerator consume an enormous quantity of
power . As a result , the excessive use of these devices can cause a lack of electricity in some places in
the world in order to allow sufficient energy to the developed countries which consume highly modern
technology .
64

On the other hand , this development has undoubtedly increased the individual's standard of living and
helped them to entertain easily . Cars have provided individuals with the ease and convenience of
moving to any place in the world and at any time. For example , persons can move to their work or
studies effortlessly and also travel around their city searching the breathtaking and relaxing views on the
weekly in order to detox their mind from the negativity and stress of the life . In addition , fridges help
individuals to conserve their food for a week , for example ,rather than purchasing what they need every
day, consequently they save their energy and their time . Moreover , TV helps families to entertain and
have some fun comfortably without leaving their homes.
In conclusion , despite that the modern inventions cause some problems such as air pollution and
difficulties accessing power , I believe that the benefits of technological devices which bring can exceed
their drawbacks .
04. More and more people today are using computers and electronic devices to access
information. Therefore there is no need to print books, magazines and newspapers. To what
extent do you agree or disagree?
There is an increasing number of individuals who use electronic means in order to get informed. It can
be therefore discussed that there is no need for printed media such as journals and books. I definitely
agree with this idea and in this essay, I will explain my beliefs.
On the one hand, it is accepted by the majority of people that paper books and media can not be
completely omitted from our daily lives as they are essential for the learning process in schools. Children
are not grown enough to be taught bookless and their eyesight will be damaged using electronic
devices. Additionally, there are several companies which are working in these industries whose workers
are in unemployment threat. Governments will be suffering from the rising rate of jobless individuals. As
an illustration, the "Green House" publication has stopped working recently due to the lack of demand
for printed books and magazines.
On the other hand, it is generally acknowledged that reading ebooks and other electronic articles can
play a significant role in preventing logging trees for the aim of producing paper. It is obvious that a
considerable amount of green areas have been destroyed by the paper industry so [Link] instance,
according to research, for making a 100-page book we need to cut down 4 trees and when we multiply it
by the number of books it will be an unbelievably high number of trees which must be logged.
Furthermore, the rate of reading is boosted by introducing e-media to the states. Those who have to
spend most of their efficient time commuting by public transportation can simply join the readers by
means of their small handy [Link], all in all, substituting printed books with electronic ones
provides satisfaction for environmentalists in terms of saving more trees which are the Earth's lungs
and also the culture of reading will grow among people.
To conclude, although some people consider that paper books and media are underlying roots for
educational purposes, I am of the opinion that saving green areas is so valuable that we should cope
with the difficulties stemming from reading electronic articles and books.
05. Many people put their personal information (address, telephone number,...) online for
everyday activities such as socializing on social networks or banking purposes. Do you think it
is a positive or negative development?
65
WhatsApp - 01848361793
IELTS Pro BD
It is true that a growing number of people have put their personal details online. While there are
undoubtedly dangers in this, I believe that the convenience of putting such data on the internet
outweighs the negative aspects.
On the one hand, personal information which is held online may be stolen or misused in some way by
cyber criminals. For example, thanks to advances in technology, online banking is now common. People
must trust the security measures put in place by banks and by companies to ensure that their bank
account details are guaranteed to be secure from computer hackers. Strict codes of conduct minimise
the dangers but, in contrast, criminals can access all kinds of personal information which people naively
provide on social networking sites, such as Facebook or Instagram. As a result, users of these sites may
find that they are victims of online scams.
On the other hand, the storage of personal information online is convenient in various ways. Firstly, it
enables people to pay for goods ordered over the internet, for instance. Time-consuming visits to the
shops or the bank have been superseded by simply clicking a computer key. Secondly, sharing personal
information on social network sites is one of those socio-economic changes which has revolutionised
patterns of behaviour . Friends and family members who have access to the internet are able to keep in
touch freely and easily. Thus, sharing personal details online for business or pleasure has accelerated the
flow of information and is user-friendly, and therefore old ways of doing things have become obsolete.
In conclusion, despite the risks of personal online information falling into the wrong hands, I would
argue that the convenience of sharing this information outweighs these risks.
06. In this technological era, personal information is stored on computers by many companies and
organisations. Do you think the advantages outweigh the disadvantages?
In the modern world, technology plays an important role in people’s lives. However, it is the
responsibility of computers to collect individual input in several collaborations. Personally, I realise that
the pros and cons of storing information can be a controversial topic to discuss. This essay will examine
how the advantages outweigh the disadvantages.
On the one hand, there are crucial reasons why the storage of personal data on a desktop is good. One
reason for this view is that, in terms of business, gathering many files and documents, such as Gmail,
Hotmail, and others, should be kept private. Additionally, this action leads numerous organisations to be
well-organised and easy to find. Hence, these files are easier to use than paper-based documents for
personal data effectively. Secondly, the safety of programs can undoubtedly generate a double standard
to protect users’ secrets, which is safer than keeping them in the storage room.
On the other hand, I believe that it possibly brings about some drawbacks for several reasons. The first
and most obvious reason is that spam messages are viruses, which might risk hacked issues. Moreover,
the system of computer seems harder to access, but some groups of thieves are likely to exploit it for
illegal purposes.
A good case in the point is the call centre, due to the fact that they try to hack some large companies,
which results in stealing customer data and private info. Hence, this outcome might destroy the
customers’ trust.

In conclusion, even though keeping data on the desktop can be beneficial, it also has some drawbacks.
Personally, I reckon that the advantages outweigh the disadvantages of this statement.
07. Fewer and fewer people today right by hand using a pen pencil or brush. What are the
reasons? Is this a positive or a negative development?
In today's world, the traditional form of writing has significantly decreased. The advancement of
technology is the main reason for this event. I believe that this improvement has positive aspects.
Writing with a pen, pencil or brush is not popular now. The progression of technology plays a
remarkable role in this story. People prefer to type instead of writing since it is more convenient. They
only use their mobile phones to write either short or very long text, and sometimes they do not even
need to type because there are several online available applications that type words when people
speak. As a result, individuals rarely write with a pen or pencil. Moreover, when a letter or message is
being typed, it is very clear and legible, and everybody can read it, while some handwriting can cause a
lot of problems due to the form of writing.
I personally believe that there are several benefits to this development. The positive side is that people
are able to write wherever they are, and they do not have to look for a piece of paper and a pen for
writing. Furthermore, it helps the environment. Before, every student needed several notebooks and
pens, which were made from trees. Therefore, many jungles are preserved as we do not use paper for
our education and printing office work. Finally, it is safer to type than write on paper. For example, by
typing a letter, you can save it on your computer, and the chance that you miss it could be zero, and you
have access to it whenever you want, either at work or on vacation.
To conclude, handwriting is not popular among people now. The convenience of typing and being
readable by anyone are the main reasons that fewer people use a pen or pencil. it also contributes to
saving the environment which is a positive event . I personally recommend that everybody should learn
to type with a computer.
08. Some people think news has no connection to people’s lives. So then it is a waste of time to
read the newspaper and watch television news programs. To what extent do you agree or
disagree?
It is believed that news is detached from the ordinary citizen’s lives and therefore, to watch or to read
the news is an unjudicious use of time. While I acknowledge the validity of the disconnection of news
coverage from daily lives, I would argue that people would still tune into content despite knowing their
irrelevance.
Proponents of such an idea claim that news is sensational by nature, which provides no real value aside
from being shocking. This is true in the modern context since audiences, with a limited attention span,
crave for immediate yet short forms of entertainment. Consequently, news agencies have become
expert curators and designers of news, aiming to evoke the most basic emotions: fear, anger, and
jealousy. Examples of this abound on the Internet, such as the intensive coverage of a corpse-
dismemberment case recently, attracting widespread attention. In reality, any helpful tips regarding how
to survive against a murderer would not be prioritized by news organizations because knowledge is
boring and tedious.
67
WhatsApp - 01848361793
IELTS Pro BD
However, it is my belief that informing people about the futility of consuming news would not dissuade
them from doing so due to the addictive nature entrenched deep within. Analogous to drugs, fast foods
and other products, the news is socially engineered to satisfy the auditory and sensory experience of
consumers. People use it as a way to temporarily distract themselves from the stressful reality and in
other words, a form of escapism. Hence, to convince citizens not to watch or read the news might be
ineffectual because addicted people consider it an inseparable part of their lives. Waste of time, as the
idea suggests, is completely dependent on each person’s view and thus, should not be judged.
09. Nowadays the way many people interact with each other has change because of technology.
In what ways has technology affected the types of relationships people make? Has this
become a positive or negative development?
Technology plays a vital role in maintaining the relationship with communities. Individuals are now
dependent on smart devices and social media to enhance relationships. I believe that positive
developments are noticeable.
First of all, the accessibility of social media drives people to change the direction of their relationships.
Previously, societies were concerned about the contact between the same groups. Nowadays, they try
to think out of the box. Social media, like Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn are assisting in making
friendships. For example, facebook gives the opportunity to make friends with different cultures. More
specifically, a Bangladeshi can make the friendship with a European one without any interruption, and
be able to delve into his culture.
The main advantage of making this liaison is to lessen the cultural barrier. Thus, people can take
advantage of cultural diversity and make the world a global village. Thereafter, they are well informed
about the updated world and synchronised with it. Moreover, pupils can get the chance to enrol in
different universities around the world by making good relationships with professors. For instance,
students from developing, or poor countries are admitted into the best universities in developed
countries. More precisely, pupils from Bangladesh are going to the USA, Europe, or the UK for higher
studies.
On the other hand, there are some negative impacts, like detaching from own culture. Youngsters in
Bangladesh, for example, are habituated to the Western culture. Therefore, they are not aware of their
prehistoric events. They are always interested in that norm and try to adapt to that.
In conclusion, it can be said that though it has both positive and negative impacts on human lives,
positive improvements are remarkable.
10. Because of modern technology, it is no longer necessary for people to learn handwriting skills,
but others believe that handwriting is still an important skill. Discuss both and give your
opinion on your experience.
Due to the development of contemporary technology, many people expect that being taught to write by
hand will be useless while others disagree and opine it still has its value. In this essay, I am going to
examine the question from both points of view and then give my own perspective on the matter.
68

On one side of the argument, there are people who argue that the benefits of handwriting considerably
outweigh its disadvantages. The main reason for believing this is that handwriting is quick and
convenient; people can write whenever and wherever they are if they have a hand and a pen. It is also
possible to say that the handwriting is an art, so people are trying to succeed in preserving the skill. A
particularly good example here is that many calligraphers sell their work for a lot of money.
On the other hand, it is also possible to make the opposing case. It is often argued that in fact, the world
is becoming hard-wired, so people are likely to prefer digitalised methods than the conventional way.
Many people have this opinion because they believe e-mail and voice recordings are much more
accurate and useful. A second point is that there are so many people who cannot read, and write
cursive, or Chinese characters nowadays, so this trend is making handwriting unfavourable.
In conclusion, I believe both arguments have their merits. On balance, however, I feel that handwriting
will not disappear because there are still many who suppose it is a convenient and useful skill, and it also
has an artistic value. Given this situation, it is recommended for people to practice handwriting every
day to make their writing more legible.
11. More and more businesses as well as individuals are choosing to communicate either
professionally or socially using technology rather than being face to face. Discuss the
advantages and disadvantages of using techology for communication
In this modern world, there is a huge inclination for communication through technology compared to
face-to-face conversations. The main reason for such a trend is the flexibility it offers for the people.
However, just like any other modern invention, it also has its two sides and below I will list down both its
pros and cons.
To begin with, modern businesses get huge benefits from technology, as they don't need to travel to
meet their prospective customers to expand their business. Since they can able to complete their
business dealings through phone or video calling applications, they can save a lot of travel time and
exhibit increased productivity. On the other hand, business deals closed through phone calls might not
last long and in some cases, companies think that it is a sign of massive disrespect towards them and
may refrain from exercising future deals with such organizations. For example, in countries like Japan,
even today business contracts are still closed by in-person meetings rather than virtual calls, which
stresses the key importance of personal touch in business.
However, a small company which doesn't have enough budget for travel can utilize these modern
applications to compete with the mighty organizations to gain market share. Previously, such instances
were not possible and as a result, companies with enormous resources were only be able to successful.
After the advent of mobile phones and internet, such notions were dismantled. But on the contrary,
scams are currently increasing and it is mainly attributed to the increased use of technologies. This is
because people trust these folks, whom they spoke on the phone, without meeting them in person,
which causes financial loss and emotional trauma.
So to conclude, on the brighter side, technology used for communication provides flexibility, reduces
travel times, offers an opportunity to compete with limited resources and many more. However, it lacks
the personal touch and has a huge role in increased scams these days.

argue that it has led to increased stress and dependence on devices. Discuss both views and
give your opinion.
The application of various technologies has become an inevitable part of our lives. On the one hand,
some people hold that life is richer and easier thanks to the advent of technologies. On the other hand,
others believe that smartphones, computers, and various electronic gadgets exacerbate stress and
dependence on devices. In my opinion, given the drawbacks, our quality of life has been significantly
elevated by science and innovation.
Admittedly, devices such as smartphones, laptops, and televisions can lead to stress and dependence on
screens. The inventions mentioned above make it possible for people to be contacted as long as they
have access to the Internet. More specifically, when people are on vacation at the beach, managers can
still call to ask about the progress of a project. Furthermore, due to the creation of social media, many
people are haunted by the comments under their posts, making it hard for them to concentrate on work
or studies. It is undeniable that checking "thumbs-up" has become an irresistible attempt for everyone
who posts on TikTok.
Even though there are numerous cons to technologies, the merits are significant in our daily lives,
including reduced time wastage, increased productivity, and extended interpersonal communication.
Owing to advancements in transportation, passengers can reach any destination within a week.
Whether in metropolises or rural villages, people can use different methods of transportation to reach
wherever they want. Additionally, business owners can employ robots to work under comparatively
dangerous circumstances to save workers' lives and promote production. Moreover, thanks to
technology, we can communicate with friends and family who are far away from us.
In conclusion, while there is no doubt that people are prone to experiencing more stress and
dependence on technology, we are enjoying a fast, rich, and productive life.
13. Some people think that printed books are no longer necessary in this digital era as all
writings can be stored electronically. Others think that printed books still play
important roles. Discuss both these views and give your own opinion.
The advent of the computer has made it possible for people to store writings electronically. Some claim
that traditional printed books are no longer necessary, while others argue that they are still
irreplaceable. Personally, I agree with the latter view.
On the one hand, digital writings have obvious advantages over paper books. First, digital writings are
easier to store than printed publications which are made of paper and normally occupy a large space.
For instance, libraries have to prepare many shelves to display them in each room. By contrast, e-books
can readily be stored in small-sized electronic terminals such as cellphones and tablets. Second,
electronic literature is more environmentally friendly, as opposed to physical texts whose production
might cause deforestation.
On the other hand, traditional texts cannot be replaced by e-books because they are more protective of
the reader’s eyesight. To be precise, the light reflected by papers is generally much softer than the light
radiated from the screen of electronic devices. If one stares at the screen of a cell phone to read online
novels for more than two hours, he or she will experience eye fatigue. This is why virtual publication
70

readers are prone to near-sightedness. Meanwhile, in my opinion, physical publications can better
protect an author’s copyright than electronic literature. This is because e-texts can be easily accessed for
free from websites, which severely violates the copyright of writers. For example, on some forum
websites, a registered user can download the free digital copy of Harry Potter shared by other users
without official authorization. Thus, in comparison with digital publications, printed books can better
protect the legitimate rights and interests of the author.
In conclusion, in spite of some shortcomings, paper literature is still important in our lives.
14. There is no need to attend a live performance (a play or concert) because seeing it at home on
television is better. To what extend to you agree or disagree. 19.10.24
There is a common belief that it is meaningless to go to the theatre to see a play since it is preferable to
watch it on TV. I agree with this statement to some degree. In this ,essay I will debate whether why I
agree or why I do not.
On the one hand, in terms of the psychological side, it is advisable to take part as a spectator in
performances. Because, sometimes it is impossible to comprehend and catch the deep message that
actors want to convey to people through the screen. Moreover, when watching live, one tends to take
incidents that happen in a play more seriously which can deliver a lot of benefits. Additionally, taking
part in concert with one's significant other rather than sitting on the couch can reinforce the bond
between them because of the romantic environment. To exemplify, I dared to acknowledge my love
towards my previous crush in cinema after a long time 2 years ago.
On the other hand, there are such individuals that have a hectic schedule. Due to the lack of time, they
are unable to present at parties. Furthermore, the citizens who are tight with money can struggle to
afford tickets for whom watching at home is the most appropriate version. Sometimes performance
time can be at peak hours in which a huge part of the public feels unenthusiastic about getting stuck in
traffic. For instance, last year my friend could not go to the cinema with me because of the low budget.
To summarize, these days people are more prone to stay home and see spectacles. They consider that
this is a more efficient way. I partially agree with this opinion because of the reasons that were
mentioned above.
15 Some think newspapers are the best method for reading the news while others think other media
is better. Consider the arguments from both aspects of this possible debate, and reach your own
opinion.
Some people believe that newspapers are the best way to read about what has happened in the world
recently, whereas others think other media are better. There are valid opinions on both sides, which I
will consider now.
On the one hand, opponents of newspapers argue that the readers could stay updated with the news
just from their smartphones and this is efficient for the people because they can read the news anytime
and anywhere they would like. Furthermore, the delayed news and environmental impact from its print
production would make people leave the traditional newspapers. As printing newspapers requires a lot
of paper and ink, it leads to deforestation and pollution. So, many people are focused on sustainability
because of other media such as website news which do not have the same environmental impact.
71

On the other hand, proponents believe that newspapers are a good way to read information because of
their credibility, through high reporting standards and investigative journalism for delivering in-depth
and comprehensive news. Newspapers will give the news more reliability than other media because the
reporters have some time to report the news and they will cross-check the issues first before writing the
information.
To sum up, while it is true that newspapers have credibility and reliability, it seems true that the use of
newspapers as a means of reading will cause some substantial drawbacks in the future. However, I
firmly believe that using other media for reading the news would be a better option in this era.
Opinions are divided as to whether after the advance of lots of sources in the Internet, museums should
not still be preserved. Although there are benefits of discovering cultural and historical information on
the Internet, I strongly believe that museums should be sustainable.
There are a variety of reasons why I argue against demolishing precious museums. It is undeniable that
after the advent of technology, it has been easier to access data about lots of cultures and histories with
one click on a website. even though it provides distant learning to Internet users and students
throughout the world with the visual reality of museums and endless information, when it comes to
those who are underprivileged persons, they would not be able to approach fascinating culture due to
the lack of the Internet or even mobile phones. For example, in European countries where facilitate local
people and tourists to visit non-profit museums no matter what status they are, leading to passing down
their inheritance and customs towards everyone who is keen to study and also improve their intellectual
knowledge as well.
Moreover, in today’s world, it is undeniable that even if there have been limitless sources in the Internet
that aim to provide this information to populations, an increase of people who are interested to learn
from the Internet can be observed. Due to the fact that the visual reality cannot replace the feeling of
physically being in museums ,that either younger generations or elders tend to visit seeing real objects
there. For instance, In Thailand, youngsters have a tendency to travel to Art galleries since they can
observe the valuable paintings and receive in-depth knowledge more than seeing it from their laptops.
In doing so, not only museums could be able to increase cultural and historical values in the eyes of
ordinary people but also build first-hand experience for many children.
In conclusion, despite the fact that it is more convenient to access learning culture and historic stories
via the Internet, I disagree that it can replace the existing museums entirely.

For centuries, art has served as a medium for human expression and cultural enrichment. However,
there remains a debate about whether creating art is accessible to everyone or requires specialized
abilities. This essay will explore both perspectives and provide a personal opinion on this issue.
On one hand, proponents of the view that anyone can create art argue that artistic explanation is an
inherent(natural) human trait that anyone can tap into. They argue that art creation is a form of
personal expression rather than a technical craft, and that everyone possesses the ability to express
themselves creatively. Additionally, some argue that formal training can stifle(prevent) creativity by
restricting artistic expression to preconceived techniques and methods.
On the other hand, others believe that creating exceptional art requires specialized skills that cannot be
easily acquired. They argue that technical expertise, extensive training, and a deep understanding of the
principles of art are crucial to producing truly exceptional works. For example, mastering colour theory,
texture and form is essential in creating visually appealing paintings, while effectively using rhythm,
melody and harmony is critical for producing great music.
In my opinion, both perspectives have some merit. While it is true that art is an act of personal
interpretation and that anyone can create a craft, it is also true that producing exceptional works
requires technical expertise that can take years of training and practice to develop. However, I believe
that the value of art lies not solely in its technical mastery, but also in its ability to inspire, provoke
thought, and evoke emotions.
In conclusion, the debate over whether art creation is accessible to everyone and requires specialized
abilities is nuanced. Ultimately, individuals must decide the level of expertise they desire. However, art
remains crucial in human culture, inspiring and enriching people’s lives for generations.
03. People should follow the customs and traditions when people start to live in a new country.
To what extent do you agree or disagree?
In today’s fast-paced global society, countless individuals migrate abroad for a better quality of life.
Many advocates that people conform to local customs and traditions when settling in a new country. I
strongly agree with this idea because of some problems and benefits that people can face with them.
There are two essential reasons newcomers should blend into the local culture in the host country.
Firstly, refusing to adapt to the host environment would create a cultural barrier for immigrants. This
leads to social isolation, which negatively influences people’s lives. Secondly, limited knowledge of local
customs may result in some illegal actions in the host country and make local people unpleased. For
instance, in Singapore, one of the cleanest countries in Asia, residents consider anyone dirty and ill-
mannered if they litter the street or spit gum in public.
Newcomers can benefit if they adopt a new country’s customs and traditions. One benefit is that if
immigrants behave according to the local norms, they will be accepted readily by local inhabitants. As a
result, they can gain respect and affection and some help from the locals. For example, when
enterprises want to expand their production in a new country, they must be aware of business practices
there, providing them with helpful information to maximize profits. Another benefit is that newcomers
gain a rich knowledge of local customs and traditions, enabling them to participate actively in the
73

community’s activities. In many festivals, people can participate freely and feel harmonious like their
country.
In conclusion, embracing local customs and traditions is not merely beneficial for immigrants to
integrate socially and psychologically but is essential for fostering a sense of community and mutual
respect in our increasingly interconnected world.
04. Some people think that children can learn about history by visiting museums, while others
feel that there are better ways to learn about history. Discuss both views and give your
opinion.
Proponents think that the gallery helps students to understand the past whereas, others think that
pupils can utilise other resources for history learning. The contradictory view will be discussed along
with my opinion in the upcoming paragraphs.
To embark on, the museum plays a vital role in existing the cultural, religious and historical experiences.
To be more precise, apart from the book knowledge, the young public will get a chance to learn history
by visiting a gallery. To illustrate, in a main national gallery children can view are equipment used for a
battle between countries. Moreover, a live experience enhances a scholar's sense of well-being by
improving their listening and observation skills.
However, there are many resources a pupil can use to learn history. The advancement in technology
helps a student to learn easily rather than visiting a museum. Online platforms such as YouTube and
Wikipedia provide an adequate amount of data related to the student's needs. In addition, pupils can
save money which is required for a visit if they use other resources ,for example, libraries and online
platforms.
As far as I am concerned, the museum always helps a student to gain knowledge about the past as it
provides a live experience to them, hence, children can understand how the world developed till now
and also make them liable citizens of the country.
To sum up, Museums provides a direct visual effect to scholars, nevertheless, students can save money
if they utilise online resource for study. However government has to take the initiative to develop
galleries and to encourage the young public to visit those places.
05. Many museums and historical sites are mainly visited by tourists but not local people. Why is
this the case and what can be done to attract more local people to visit these places?
In many cities around the world, museums and historical sites are frequently visited by tourists, while
local travellers often overlook these cultural treasures. This trend raises questions about the reasons
behind the lack of local engagement and what can be done to encourage more locals to visit these
important spots.
One significant reason for the low turnout of local visitors at museums and historical sites is the way
these places are marketed. In particular, promotion and engagement efforts are often geared towards
attracting tourists rather than the local community. Marketing campaigns typically highlight these spots
in travel brochures and international advertisements, neglecting the local audience. For instance, the
shortage of engaging programs or events specifically designed for locals can result in a waning interest
among the resident population. Another contributing factor is the familiarity and perceived lack of
74
WhatsApp - 01848361793
IELTS Pro BD
novelty. Many local travellers feel they are already well-acquainted with their cultural heritage and
historical locations, leading them to believe there is little new or exciting to experience. Additionally, the
busy lifestyles of many residents mean that they have limited free time. Balancing work, family, and
other responsibilities leaves little room for leisure activities such as visiting museums or historical sites.
To address these issues and attract more local travellers, several strategies can be implemented. Firstly,
community engagement and targeted marketing are essential. Developing marketing campaigns that
focus on the local community, highlighting the relevance and importance of these locations to their
heritage, can help generate interest and provoke curiosity. Furthermore, organizing community events
and workshops that encourage local people to visit and participate in activities at these locations can
foster a stronger connection. Moreover, offering discounts or free entry days specifically for local
residents can make visits more affordable and appealing. For example, implementing membership
programs with benefits, particularly unlimited visits for a fixed annual fee, can further incentivize locals
to return regularly. Secondly, educational programmes and partnerships with schools can play a crucial
role. Collaborating with local schools and educational institutions to include visits to museums and
historical destinations as part of the curriculum can help instil a sense of appreciation for these places
from a young age. Creating interactive and educational programmes that make learning about history
and culture more engaging for both students and adults can enhance the overall experience.
To conclude, though museums and historical destinations are often frequented by visitors, local
engagement remains low due to targeted marketing towards tourists, a perceived lack of novelty, and
busy lifestyles. By implementing strategies including community-focused marketing, local heritage
projects, discounts, and educational programs, these destinations can attract more local visitors,
enriching the community’s connection to their cultural heritage and ensuring the preservation of these
important resources.
Money Matters
01. Everybody should donate a fixed amount of their income to support charity. How far do you share
this viewpoint?
It is frequently encouraged that individuals donate a predetermined amount of their wages to charity.
However, this statement seems unsustainable because compassion and humanity cannot be forced.
Firstly, most folks need stable and sufficient revenue to support their well-being. In the case that
governments set up a certain amount or proportion of the paycheck to be used for charity, people seem
to receive less income than usual. Due to this circumstance, the welfare of society appears to be
declining. For instance, in a hypothetical case where the authority sets the charity fee as 5% of their
monthly wages and the minimum wage in that state is 3 million rupiahs, it means that an individual
needs to donate 150 thousand rupiahs, which tends to be significant for several people. A second issue
is the moral issue. Social work is considered to require sincerity. If someone did not genuinely donate
their money, the donation would not have a significant moral impact on society. By this, we mean that a
social action should come from their own willingness.

While it may be correct that this policy has some positive aspects, most notably increasing public
awareness regarding the importance of humanitarian funding and improvement in some sectors, such
as the environment. It still appears to be the case, however, that for many individuals, these benefits are
outweighed by monetary and moral issues arising from this notion.
In summary, the public is not able to be pressured to perform humanitarian actions, mainly ones related
to funds, because they tend to prioritize their own needs and the perspective that if this kind of thing is
being forced, there would be no moral compassion from this activity. This is not to say that this idea is
nonsense, but it appears to be hard to implement these days.
02. Some people believe that they should be able to keep all the money they earn, and should not
have to pay tax to the state. To what extent do you agree or disagree?
There is an ongoing debate regarding paying taxes. While some people argue that they should possess
all the money they earn without paying taxes to the government, I believe that citizens should pay taxes
considering the benefits of society. This essay will discuss my opinion in detail with relevant examples.
To begin with, income is needed for countries to provide free facilities to people. That is to say that the
government is providing free access to amenities such as healthcare and education to their civilians and
they indeed need money to pay for the workers in public services in order to maintain the well-being of
society. Such services cannot be provided without taxing the income professionals. For instance,
developed countries like the United States and Canada are taxing an average of 18% to 20% of their
citizen's salaries as it is reasonable because the policymakers cannot always rely on the support of other
countries.
Additionally, if the masses are not paying taxes, it would contribute a huge burden to the state budget.
In other words, authorities do not have a significant source of income to manage their budget while
providing such free facilities to their countrymen. Therefore, they are pushed into a situation to
continuously seek financial aid from wealthy nations which leads to a financial crisis. For example, India
introduced a taxation policy in 1890 after they were impacted by a huge economic downturn.
In conclusion, although some proponents argue that people should refrain from paying taxes, I believe
that citizens should pay at least a certain percentage of their salary to the state for the services they use
as well as to balance the budget for societal benefits.
Children
01. It is the responsibility of schools to teach children good behavior in addition to provide formal
education. To what extent do you agree or disagree? 25-05-24
76
WhatsApp - 01848361793

benefit the children's social and emotional well-being and help create a positive and productive learning
environment.
02. The best way to improve children’s life is fathers and mothers attending course for parenting
and child development. To what extent do you agree or disagree?
From the time a child is brought into this world, they become the most important element in their
parent's life. This is a much-needed and direct result of evolution in humankind. Not surprisingly, in the
modern world, there are many newly developed methods for better childcare, including various
parenting classes. However, the question is whether these courses are the best choice or not. I certainly
think not.
To start off, we must consider the fact that these classes are just teaching tools and do not necessarily
result in action. This might be the biggest factor to take into account since parenting is an act of the
parent ,and while connected, does not directly come from one's knowledge. In fact, as a species with
the greatest wisdom, we tend to not act upon most of what we know. Consequently, this means that
most of them will not be as effective as intended. For instance, In America, whilst we are at an all-time
high in the number of parenting lectures, family culture is at one of its shakiest points.
Furthermore, these development programs have a tendency to follow the latest parenting trends
nowadays. As a result, they are almost always biased, which at first might not seem harmful, yet as the
media in today's world gains more power, becomes more and more dangerous. This is because of the
direct interference of media in the way science, especially psychology takes. It is getting harder and
harder to work as a free researcher in this restrictive environment. Resulting in rare occasions that a
parenting course does not intrude into the political aspect of a baby's life. For example, we can see the
modern children who have a preference for gender fluidity, while not being gender dialectic.
On a separate note, we must always bear in mind the huge sum of child expenses. Despite that, these
programmes, especially the more beneficial ones, are built upon an enormous amount of income from
the parent's pockets. Although parents do and must do pay a lot of cash to ensure a kid's safe growth,
such resources should be spent wisely. Obviously, a learning experience that can be attained by a 15-
dollar book given enough time, must definitely not take more than tenfold to be shortened into a 10-
hour course. Thus if the other available pathways to learning about childcare are far cheaper and
require just a few more hours, it is not logical to hurt a family's finances for a few extra sessions.
77

In conclusion, even though no one can deny the fact that these parenting programmes generally have a
positive outcome, I personally am a firm believer that such courses are too extensive because of the pay,
misteaching and ineffectiveness overall.
03. Some experts believe that it is better for children to begin learning a foreign language at primary
schools rather than secondary schools. Do the advantages of this outweigh the disadvantages?
According to experts’ viewpoint, there are a plethora of benefits for young individuals to scrutinize new
languages at an early age, for instance at primary school rather than secondary school. This essay will
attempt to investigate both views positive and negative of above mentioned perspectives and then I will
present my own offer.
To begin, some specialists provide considerable arguments in favour of the above-mentioned theory
related to children’s ability to learn languages in the early period of their lives. So, it is statistically
justified by researchers that the juvenile’s brain may sharply absorb and learn a majority of new
information in primary school rather than in later periods of education. Furthermore, there are a variety
of positive sides to learning new languages for babies. For instance, by learning languages, babies have
the opportunity to communicate fluently in a few languages in secondary school and have a majority of
new friends.
Secondly, as can be supposed by other societies, there are some detrimental effects of this trend, which
are essential for presentation. As a matter of fact, it might be a great challenge at the beginning of
young kids’ lives to master some languages, due to the fact that some languages are complicated for
youngsters. Moreover, in order to be precise, this is no secret that sometimes older people may not
come over to some languages. As a consequence, some individuals prefer to be more careful with their
babies and consider that this process of language studying should be launched during the period of
secondary school education.
In summary, both sides have constructive arguments to justify their viewpoints. However, I kindly
consider that it depends on the babies’ ability. Indeed, our society ought to give chance and opportunity
for our young generation to explore the up-to-date world and attain new knowledge at an early age,
including language learning.
04. Some people believe that allowing children to make their own choices on everyday matters (such
as foood, clothes and entertainment) is likely to result in a society of individuals who only think
about their own wishes. Other people believe that it is important for children to make decisions
about matters that affect them. Discuss both these views and give your own opinion.
While many claim that giving minors the freedom of thought on all matters makes it possible for them to
become highly egocentric, I believe that this is not the case since a child’s decision is often based on
various components to form who they are, and it is crucial that all children gain permission to be
present in every choice they make so that they can improve their cognitive skills.
One might argue that those who are entitled to decide on what activities to follow at an early age may
place added emphasis on their benefits rather than those of other individuals. This is predicated on the
assumption that such teenagers would get accustomed to the idea that they are capable of prioritizing
every single choice in their lives, thus growing up being self-centred and oblivious of surrounding
desires. However, this line of reasoning is not sound because teenagers are not necessarily limited to
78
WhatsApp - 01848361793
IELTS Pro BD
themselves when they are free to focus on their wishes. In fact, if guided properly, this chance can
encourage them not only to spot their preferences but also to act on their parents’ advice, which means
they do contemplate external factors before bringing out final results. For example, when minors choose
means of entertainment, they often opt for games that their friends also play so that they can have
companions.
On the other hand, the ability to give opinions on every situation is of great importance to a child’s
cognitive growth. This is because it instils a sense of independence and a sense of identity, which
permits adolescents to reflect on their well-being in order to adjust accordingly. For instance, primary
students who are used to preparing meals will become health-conscious and avoid food that can be
detrimental to their health.
In conclusion, I think that children whose ideas are respected will not become selfish but empathetic
and vocal as long as they are under proper guidance.
05. Children nowadays watch significantly more television than in the past, which reduces their
activity levels accordingly. What are the advantages and disadvantages for children of watching
television?
Nowadays, an increasing number of children are addicted to TV than in the past, while this brings
enjoyment and acknowledgement of the world to them, however, it also leads to a sedentary lifestyle,
consequently resulting in some health issues. This essay will examine both advantages and
disadvantages of this issue.
To begin with, letting children watch TV may widen their horizons and entertain them, as well as release
their parents from obligatory things like parenting and playing with them. That is to say, TV programs
can fill the needs of some knowledge which has not been taught in their schools, such as documentary
films about nature and science. Moreover, if parents are back home and tired of being with their
children, they might throw their children to watch television. Like this, releasing parents from the hard
workload of the day. Take my nephew as an example, he already has learned the general geographical
features of the world, despite being a nine years old child he can talk about the historical sites and
customs of most of the Asian countries.
On the other hand, sitting in front of the TV is out of an average hour not only cause some health
problem but also isolate them from society. In other words, if children become addicted to television it
can lower their eyesight, and as time passes wearing eyeglasses become necessary which may cause
some confidence issues in their self-esteem of appearances. Furthermore, if this becomes a habit of
their life it can also lead to self-isolation from reality. Some academic research shows that half of the
children around the world suffer from health issues caused by spending extra time watching TV.
To conclude, although watching TV can generate some interest and knowledge in children, it can also
bring some irreparable consequences. Hence, I believe the drawbacks of losing health to an extent for
children on this issue outweigh the benefit of gaining knowledge from TV.
06. Some people believe that time spent on television, video and computer games can be valuable for
children. Others beleve this may have negative effects on a child's development. Discuss both
these views and give your own opinion.

It is argued by 2 groups of the crowds if time spent on entertainment on the screen is valuable for
children, In my aspect, I'd say that it depends on the effects after usage.
At first glance, in this day and age, most parents let their kids spend time on the phone, watching videos
and playing computer games, owing to the dearth of attention resulting from both the excessive number
of work and the stress, besides that, undeniably, those entertainments are considered a great attention
grabber regarding many reasons commonly seen, however, the young are able to consume effective
press as well. For instance, by watching cartoons without the mother tongue, the kids can learn and
apply new languages in real life such as talking with their teachers and browsing foreign topics,
furthermore, it is a development occurring in one's life.
On the contrary, some folks believe that there are many negative effects when it comes to watching
unnecessary programs since sometimes those clips can hurt teenagers either mentally or physically,
additionally, the kids are led into bad habits by others. For example, drug abuse is one of the incidents
which can be caused by being convinced by online friends or videos regardless of the consequences,
hence, small folks are usually persuaded to go outside by their parents to ensure that no bad deeds
happen.
To sum up, a large amount of individuals do not pay attention to the results of screen time, in parallel,
some realise and are afraid of the influence. In my opinion, I opine that despite being able to be
persuaded badly, adolescents can also reap and appreciate the benefits.
07. Some people believe that children of all ages should have extra responsibilities (for example,
helping at home or work). Others believe that children should be free to enjoy their lives outside
of school.
It is often said individuals ranging from toddlers to teenagers, everyone should contribute in the same
way in household work while others say it would be an obstacle to their growth and hinders freedom to
enjoyment.
On the one hand, the prominent reason behind this approach is that increased responsibility encourages
greater maturity and self-reliance. To be more precise, by actively participating in household chores,
skills like time management and organization in different environments equip them with practical skills
that will serve them in the future. For example, most teenagers who do not know how to clean their
room and are not habitual in putting things in the right places are viewed as childish by their peers.
Hence, the aforementioned example vividly illustrates why equal responsibilities should be given to
everyone.
On the other hand, children should primarily focus on exploration, play, and personal development. To
explain more, at an early age, it is required for children to engage themselves in activities that promote
the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of an individual. Moreover, carefree enjoyment and
80

unstructured playtime allow children to find real happiness as well as will help creativity, and enhance
the imagination power. Not only this, it will help in building their social network while interacting with
different individuals without any limit. For instance, most of the children who relish childhood have a
more developed mind than the ones who find themselves surrounded by responsibilities. Thus, the
aforementioned substantiates the reason for making them free from any work.
To conclude, this essay discussed that children should perform equal household duties regardless of age
while others believe that adolescents should be given unstructured playtime to develop their minds.
From my viewpoint, the latter view should be supported as it will aid in instilling cognitive and
intellectual skills.
08. It is argued that the parents of children who break the rules should be punished in some ways as
parents are responsible for the children's actions. To what extent do you agree or disagree?
Some individuals frequently put the blame for juvenile delinquency on their parents. Nevertheless, from
my perspective, exerting discipline on parents for their children’s wrongdoings is not sensible because
every individual is responsible for their own actions.
It is undeniable that mothers and fathers must take accountability for their children’s malpractice since
they are role models for their offspring from the earliest days of their lives. It could be true that
juveniles’ misbehaviours, which violate the law, may stem from the observation of their parents. And
since adolescents are acutely sensitive, they can be affected straightforwardly. For example, if parents
are offenders who cheat others for money, their children would suppose it as normal and consequently
commit the same crime in possible cases in the future.
Despite the aforementioned arguments, I hold the belief that should not be imposed punishments on
their parents when their offspring commit an offence. The first reason can be attributed to individuals’
responsibility for their actions. And each person is a separate individual engaging in a myriad of
activities. Hence, it is morally wrong and may foster resentment and ill will toward innocent individuals.
Another point worth mentioning is that adolescents are influenced by not only their parents but also
other factors such as their peers or anti-social content on the Internet. Frequent exposure to toxic
friends at school or violent topics on social media, for example, will be a key factor in illicit behaviours,
which could be the potential root of crime-committing activities. Thus, it is reasonable to assume that
other parties should share responsibility for children who break the law.
In conclusion, although parents will be at the core of setting examples for their offspring, I am of the
opinion that it is unreasonable to accuse them of their children’s dirty deeds because of individual
liability for their actions and other influential parties.
09. Some people think that parents should teach children how to be good members of society.
Others, however, believe school is the place to learn this. Discuss both views and give your
opinion.
Some individuals think that it is the parent's job to teach their children how to become good citizens of
their country. However, others believe that youngsters can learn such things from school. Although
some people believe that children can learn primary duties from their parents, I believe that they can
learn more things effectively in school.

On the one hand, parents have a huge impact on children's learning. To elaborate, they can teach their
kids what is the right thing to do and what is not. Also, they can be a good member of society because
they would recognize what is good and what is wrong. For example, some researchers indicate that
individuals who learned their manners when they were young are less intent on crimes because they
know that they were breaking the rules. I believe that these parents' suggestions can help to some
extent.
On the other hand, children who go to school interact with other students and they will know how to
respect each other. To illustrate, students will communicate with each other nicely because they will
know how to treat others more respectfully. For instance, in many schools students are asked to do
group projects. Besides the school is testing the youngsters' communication skills to see if they know
how to be good people. I believe that this is the best method to teach these manners to juveniles.
In conclusion, some people believe that youngsters need to learn the primary duties from their parents.
However, I believe that they can learn it by practising in school more effectively by interacting with their
friends.
Tourism
01. The development of tourism contributed to English becoming the most prominent laguage in
the world. Some people think this will lead to English becoming the only language to be
spoken globally. What are the advantages and disadvantages to having one language?
Nowadays, English, to improve tourism, is the most considerable language used by many countries in all
societies. Some believe that English will be a common means of communication in the whole world
because of its universality, although there is also an argument that opposes it. In this essay, I will
examine both of these aspects in the following paragraphs.
On the one hand, it is obvious that English is a fundamental language and is taught to all students as the
first or second foreign word in each of the schools. Thus, almost everyone knows this, hence
conversations between foreigners have been much easier, especially in tourism industries. For instance,
if visitors from others need to know rules such as traffic and culture, then unit language will be
significantly effective in order to understand the dwellers of these areas . Secondly, another advantage
of having one language is that creates conditions for ensuring access to information and getting an
education. To exemplify, a person, by learning a language, can easily read and benefit from other states'
university materials. In today's case, you can not understand these so as do not know their language.
Consequently, using all materials in a single form and adopting everybody a format supports the right to
get an education.
On the other hand, the mono-English system would possibly vanish, particularly in minorities. In general
terms, the language of the public is not only a communication means but also the history, culture and
traditions of nations. To give an example, for indigenous peoples in North America, English is their first
language and now they hardly use their own mother tongue in daily life. Therefore, the usage of this
style can cause forgetting of individual characteristics, attributes, and specialities, as a result, these
historical virtues might disappear from local society. In other words, it seems as if ethnic cleansing.

In conclusion, while societies can benefit from a single global language like English, it can also bring out
the elimination of some communities' history.
02. Tourism is one of the fastest growing industries and contributes a great deal to economies
around the world. however, the damage tourism can cause to local cultures and the
environment is often ignored. To what extent do you agree or disagree?
Currently, tourism is a field that improving rapidly and bringing huge amounts of income to every
country's budget. While, according to the majority's thoughts, people should concern about its adverse
impacts on the culture and the environment of local areas as our priority. But I disagree with this issue
because usually many tourists are attracted by specifically local customs and nature and are highly
respectful towards them, as well as with the help of massive economical profits, any problem regarding
this phenomenon can be solved quite easily.
It is obvious fact that in most cases, travellers have a great interest in and a strong admiration for the
place going to visit which provides them with being eco-friendly and respectful to the host culture. In
other words, when people visit somewhere they really like and want to be, they always act in their most
polite and conscientious way. In addition, tourism is the best way to make the world aware of a
particular culture. For example, in Uzbekistan, especially, in Tashkent, people encounter tourists
wearing Uzbek national clothes prepared from an "atlas" more than local residences.
Furthermore, as tourism is one of the highest pricing industries, the country which holds a huge number
of tourists annually is capable of developing at a high pace. Thanks to the economical income from
tourist services, if any kind of environmental problem appears, the government can pay for the costly
research in order to tackle it fast and effectively. Besides, substantial profits may lead to organising
cultural events like festivals which are very handy for the improvement of that culture
In conclusion, it is my personal belief that despite many contrasting opinions, tourism has no negative
influence on the customs and the nature of locals and it should be kept developing.
03. The popularity of tourism is increasing day by day. There are many benefits of tourism, but it
also creates some problems. Do you think the advantages outweigh the disadvantages?
Tourist attractions have gained a lot of interest in recent times. while some people still have negative
ideas about it due to some challenges encountered, I believe having attractive landscapes offer more
merits than demerits. This essay will discuss in detail some difficulties and thereafter benefits of travels
followed with a reasoned conclusion.
One of the negative aspects of touristry is the potential exposure to dreadful hazards. The reason is
those wild animals kept in the reservoir might not be adequately caged which could escape and cause
harm to viewers. For example, a recent outbreak of a lion from a zoo in Nigeria documented on national
television a few years ago caused panic and havoc in the community with sporadic killings of several
victims until it was finally caught a couple of weeks after. Moreover, foreign criminals can use this as a
means to transit international borders if the immigration law is not strict, thereby causing an increase in
criminal activities. Hence the concerns raised by some people about tourism.
83

In spite of the aforementioned problems that seemed to be encountered above, the importance of
having site seeing landscapes cannot be overemphasized. Firstly, such projects help in wildlife
conservation. Endangered species can be captured and placed in the zoo where life continuity is
guaranteed. For instance, current research has shown that there are more new creatures discovered
these days than previously due to the conscious effort of various governments in wildlife preservation.
Furthermore, the authorities realize massive revenue and turnover from tourism. Daily, money is being
paid by the public, both local and international in seeing rare creatures which generate income for the
government. To illustrate further, the Nigerian government last year had over 20% of yearly returns
from tourism. Lastly, beautiful landscapes and artefacts improve the aesthetic appeal of the
environment.
In conclusion, although some challenges are experienced in touristy I believe the gain from involvement
in site attractions far exceed these perceived threats. International travel has become cheaper these
days, more and more nations are opening their doors, and more tourists are traveling abroad. Do the
advantages of tourism growth outweigh the disadvantages?
04. Nowadays, Travelling abroad is much more inexpensive because all nations are invited to new
tourists to their countries and they provide affordable prices to visit their countries. There are
many advantages and a few disadvantages I will discuss in the upcoming paragraphs.
To begin with the advantages, Many regions will develop very fastly and their economic secret is they
will be allowed to promote their nation's tourism and they will earn a chunk amount of money each
year. To explain, Every hour new visitors from all over the globe will come to vacation in advanced
regions and they will like to see new creations cities and they will invest little money to see this
developing country. For example, In Dubai will be a popular destination to visit in this modern world
because a large factor of travellers will love to spend their holidays in this region due to they are
cheaper and more valuable trips are much lower than others. Thus, A successful recession will
promotion everywhere their tourist attractions and it has a good effect on their nation.
To commence with the disadvantages, Today a large number of visitors will going to visit other regions
instead of they do not explore their countryside history. In other words, They will ignore their traditional
value and golden age such as independent day and they will like to explore different cultures besides
their own. For instance, In Uk authorities will declare that their citizens will not often visit another side
because they are worried about their economic growth and a few years back their economic situation
will rise. Thus, Sometimes is good to visit other sites but it usually will impact their own nation.
In conclusion, Although a big recessions value is increasing tourism because they will receive a high-paid
subscription from their foreign visitors. Moreover, It has a good effect on every country that publicity
their famous tourist destinations and it is beneficial for future generations.

Recently, ecotourism has become an uprising trend, which generally means travelling to conserved
natural areas without disturbing the environment. This essay shall highlight the benefits of ecotourism
and suggest ways to make it popular with tourists.
Ecotourism is not only friendly to nature but also makes tourist spots environmentally sustainable. The
reason is that it is designed in a way so that the ecological balance of the tourist spot is not disturbed.
Thereby tourism can be made eco-friendly without disturbing the flora and fauna. Moreover, eco-
tourists can economically help the locals and motivate them to preserve the natural beauty of the
tourist destinations. In Kashmir, for example, the locals have stopped cutting down trees from the
forests as tourism helped them become financially solvent. This confirms ecotourism is eco-friendly and
a sustainable solution for the protection of tourist spots.
How eco tourism can be made popular? There are a plethora of ways to make it popular. The first and
foremost way is conducting social media Marketing and making people aware of the benefits of
sustainable tourism. If tourists get information about the natural spots, they may become eager to plan
their trip accordingly. Secondly, governments can reduce taxes for ecotourism, therefore making it
inexpensive for travellers. A recent survey conducted by a travel website concludes that around 80% of
tourists think ecotourism is more expensive than other tourism. This shows that by keeping the tourists
informed and making ecotourism cheaper, it can be made more popular.
06. Responsible tourists could preserve both the local culture and environment. Some people
think it is impossible to be a responsible tourist. To what extent do you agree or disagree?
We are constantly surrounded by advertising, from television commercials, social media advertisement
or billboards or posters on the roads. People have different views about how advertising affects our
lives. In my opinion, there are both positive and negative impacts of advertising.
There is no denying that advertisement can stimulate the economy. Firstly, it plays a vital role of
providing information to the customers, helping people understand the choices they have. Additionally,
the more commercials we are exposed to, the more we are likely to purchase items. Secondly,
advertising is a creative industry that employs many people, therefore providing job opportunities and
income for many people. As a result, without advertising, there would be a higher unemployment rate.
However, there are some negative issues of advertising that cannot be neglected. One problem is that
advertisers often aim the young as their target audience. Children, for instance, can easily be influenced
by advertisements. Therefore, they might be under great pressure for not satisfied with who they are.
Another problem is that many advertisements manipulate people too badly. Capturing the minds of
consumers is the main intention of the advertisements. Thus, by persuading people that buying a
product will make them happier and with higher social status.
In conclusion, there are convincing arguments both for and against advertising. Yet I believe there are
both positive and negative aspects of advertising. And I recommended that Advertising should be
regulated and advertisements which aimed at children should be controlled or even banned.

07. It is not necessary to travel to other places to learn the culture of other people. We can learn
just as much from books, films and the internet. Do you agree or disagree?
Many believe that we can expand our cultural knowledge effectively through books, films, and the
Internet, thereby reducing our reliance on physical travel. From my point of view, I completely agree
with this statement for several reasons.
On the one hand, traditional media and digital platforms offer a wide array of cultural resources from
around the world in a manner that is both cost-effective and time-saving. In today's fast-paced society,
efficiency is highly valued. For instance, with a modest budget of around five dollars, one can purchase a
book on Korean culture and delve into its history and traditions during leisure time, without the need to
incur the substantial expenses and time commitments associated with traveling abroad. Moreover,
comprehensive documentaries, interactive maps, and virtual reality tours enable individuals to virtually
explore ancient cities like Rome or vibrant markets in Marrakech, thereby providing immersive cultural
experiences that rival those of actual travel.
On the other hand, it is argued that traveling offers meaningful experiences and unforgettable sensory
encounters. Physical travel allows individuals to taste local cuisines, observe social norms firsthand, and
even try on traditional costumes—for example, Vietnamese visitors to Korea may enjoy authentic dishes
like kimbap and experience the charm of hanbok firsthand. However, while travel undoubtedly offers
spontaneity and direct interaction, modern digital media has evolved to simulate many of these
experiences. High-definition films and social platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok feature
real-time updates and vivid imagery that capture the essence of foreign cultures. These platforms,
combined with immersive technologies, now provide a multifaceted cultural learning environment that
bridges the gap between virtual and physical experiences.
In conclusion, although traveling to another country offers unique personal encounters, the vast
resources available through books, films, and the Internet are sufficient to broaden one's cultural
horizons. With the benefits of cost-efficiency, convenience, and technological advancement, these
media provide an effective alternative to physical travel, thereby supporting my view that it is not
necessary to travel extensively in order to gain cultural knowledge.
08. In the past, people used to travel abroad to look for many differences from their home
country. Nowadays, cities throughout the world are becoming more and more similar. What
are the reasons? Do the advantages outweigh the disadvantages?
In the past, travelers often sought unique cultural experiences by visiting foreign countries. However, in
contemporary times, urban areas around the globe are increasingly resembling one another. This essay
will explore the reasons behind this trend and discuss whether the advantages outweigh the
disadvantages.
One primary reason for the growing similarity among cities worldwide is globalization and economic
integration. The proliferation of multinational corporations has led to the standardization of products
and services across different countries. For instance, global brands like Starbucks and McDonald's can be
found in most major cities, offering identical menus and experiences. Additionally, advancements in
technology and communication have propagated global trends rapidly. People worldwide access the
86

same information through the internet and social media platforms like Instagram and Facebook, which
influences architecture, fashion, and lifestyle choices, making cities adopt similar designs and amenities.
The increasing similarity of cities offers certain advantages. It facilitates international travel and
business, as visitors can easily find familiar services and products, reducing cultural barriers. For
example, business travelers can access worldwide hotel chains like Hilton or use ride-sharing apps like
Uber, enhancing convenience. Moreover, economic growth is stimulated through standardized markets,
allowing companies to expand effortlessly and create job opportunities. However, these benefits are
overshadowed by significant disadvantages. The erosion of local cultures and identities leads to a loss of
heritage and traditions, which are irreplaceable. Cities become less unique, diminishing their appeal to
tourists seeking authentic experiences. Thus, while there are economic gains, the negative impact on
cultural diversity is a considerable drawback.
In conclusion, globalization and technological advancements are key factors contributing to the growing
resemblance of cities worldwide. Although this trend brings certain conveniences and economic
benefits, I believe that the disadvantages, particularly the loss of cultural identity and diversity,
outweigh the advantages.

01. Some people think that the best way to improve road transport safety is to let the driver test
each year. What extent do you agree or disagree? 22.06.24
These days number of crash accidents in the whole world has increased extremely, just because of
reckless driving . Accordingly, there is a growing perception that road security can only be improved by
holding a driving test every term . I partly agree with this point of view, because there are other more
strict ways to enhance highway safety.
While the unconscious behaviour of the drivers in the city streets is one of the main causes of traffic
accidents, the annual test of the drivers regulates significantly their violations on the pavement . For
example, based an Oxford University researchers’ project revealed that yearly driving tests help to raise
the level of careful driving by almost 80% among professional drivers . Whereas it is true, that
controlling decent cooperation on roads by only annually tests is not possible , due to this government
should take additional measures to solve it.
Furthermore, authorities also should make an effort to decrease transportation problems by introducing
new rules and laws, concerning the passage. There is no doubt that people would pay close attention to
the traffic signs and signals. For instance, it would be best to impose fines for disturbance of the subway
regulation or install more car radars on the roadways.
In conclusion, nowadays despite the rising amount of traffic accidents, there are some arrangements to
ensure street safety, such as a taking driving test every year. In my opinion, this idea is not the best way
to improve safe transportation, because it is impossible without line infrastructure.

02. Some countries have an ever-increasing proportion of population who are aged at 15
or younger. What is your opinion of the current and future effects it may have in those
countries. 24.08.24
In recent years, the issue of the increasing proportion of young people in several nations has gained
significant attention. While this phenomenon has both pros and cons, I strongly believe that the
increasing proportion of young people may lead to significant challenges and outweigh the benefits in
the future.
Without a shadow of a doubt, the increase of young citizens can initially benefit the national economy
by providing a future labor workforce. For instance, Vietnam's 'golden population structure' indicates a
young population poised to contribute significantly to various sectors. However, this potential benefit is
contingent on substantial investments in education and training. Hence, while the growth of young
individuals can do wonders for the country's economy, this is only possible if adequate resources are
allocated for their development.
Despite the potential economic benefits, the drawbacks of a burgeoning young population can be
severe. Developing countries may face insurmountable challenges in meeting the demands of their
youth. For example, in India, with millions of 15-year-olds from underprivileged backgrounds, the
government must allocate substantial funds for education and healthcare, straining the national budget.
This scenario illustrates the long-term economic pressure such demographic shifts can cause. Thus, the
growth in adolescents can have a detrimental impact on national coffers and overall economic stability.
In conclusion, while a large number of teenagers can potentially become a significant workforce in the
future, the economic pressure on governments, especially in developing countries, is likely to be
overwhelming. Therefore, the negative impacts of such a demographic trend could far outweigh the
potential benefits, leading to more harm than good.
03. Some people think litter in public places is a serious problem, others do not think so.
What is your opinion?
It has been intensively argued whether it is a tremendous issue if trash is thrown in public areas. I
completely agree that rubbish in public places is problematic to human beings. I will elaborate on the
reasons for my viewpoint in the following paragraphs.
It will bring a negative impact on the image of the city to tourists and visitors if rubbish in public areas is
out of control. When travellers from other countries and cities visit the city, they can have an unpleasant
experience once they observe a messy environment and smell awful air due to litter in public areas.
Then they will share their experiences and feelings with their acquittances. Even worse if the visitors are
investors or public officers from other countries because they might give up their investment plans, as a
result, it will lead to a financial loss to the area. For example, Beijing managed to be a tidy and well-
organized city before the 2008 Olympic games, therefore, Beijing could build up a positive impression
and solid reputation in front of the world and it can further attract investments from all over the world
to China.
Additionally, civilians’ health can be threatened as trash in public areas leads to various environmental
pollution. Air pollution is one of the outstanding problems as wastes from food and daily usage can
88

produce an awful smell and spread the smell to the residents nearby if these wastes are not dealt with
appropriately, living residents’ mental health will be influenced as the smell can cause anxiety and
depression. Meanwhile, litter in public areas can make soil polluted, therefore, the vegetables and grain
grown on the land will be unhealthy and it will be harmful to individuals to eat them.
In conclusion, there might be some reasons to support that people who do not believe litter in public
areas is a big issue. However, in my view of point, I believe that it cannot be easily underestimated no
matter from the perspective of the city's reputation or human health.
04. Some people think that life was better in the past than what it is now. Do you agree or
disagree? Give your reason and example from your own life? 27.08.24
A group of people believe that in the past people had a better life in many ways while some others have
a different view about the quality of life in the present compared to the past. Despite the fact that both
views about living in the past and the present have their own pros and cons, I honestly disagree with this
opinion.
On the one hand, living in the past was more difficult due to many reasons like the lack of amenities,
health problems, transportation and communication issues etc. By contrast, individuals were less
stressed and the proportion of crimes was lower and people had more time to spend with their families
but these were just a small part of the benefits of living in the past. For instance, in the past when
people wanted to write a letter to inform each other while they were living in different countries,
because of communication problems, this took days and days.
On the other hand, the fact that our life has improved is inevitable. To begin with, the healthcare
facilities have developed in a way that nowadays, people do not die because of simple illnesses.
Transportation has also improved that today, we can easily travel everywhere and more improvements
in other fields such as education, communication, job opportunities etc. For example, it does not matter
how far we are living from our families. We can communicate with them through our cellphones, tablets
and laptops. Hence, we can easily overcome most of the problems.
In a nutshell, undoubtedly our life has improved significantly compared to the last hundred years.
Although, individuals had a better life at some points in the past but eventually, we cannot ignore the
fact that our life is way better now and I definitely agree with that.
05. Many people aim to achieve a balance between their work and lives, but few people achieve
it. What are the causes of this? How to overcome this problem?
Many individuals strive to achieve a healthy balance between personal and professional lives. However,
only a small number of people achieve it. Although several reasons contribute to such a problem, there
are numerous ways to cope with it. This essay will examine the obstacles to realizing work-life balance
and propose effective solutions.
To commence, myriad factors contribute to why people are struggling to meet work-life balance. Firstly,
people are often too busy with their professional settings, as many occupations, namely doctors,
lawyers, or consultants require long hours of work. Therefore, these individuals only have limited free
time available to do other activities, such as exercising or socializing, neglecting that maintaining well-
being is instrumental. Moreover, individuals frequently feel that their income is insufficient to secure
89
WhatsApp - 01848361793
IELTS Pro BD
daily needs due to high living standards. Hence, people opt to take on more responsibilities and search
for other opportunities, which may cost them a substantial amount of time.
Conversely, despite the obstacles that make people strive to acquire work-life balance, a plethora of
actions can overcome them. One pivotal action is to have robust time management skills. For instance,
people have to efficiently organize and prioritize their daily schedule between work, leisure, and social
activities, ensuring that they allocate enough time for personal pursuits. Additionally, people can
introduce a clear boundary between professional and personal lives. Such a boundary can be established
by defining specific employment hours and dividing work-related tasks from personal endeavours.
To encapsulate, while an unbalanced work-life dynamic is caused by over-hour working and insufficient
income, implementing time management and setting a clear boundary may be the practical solutions.
Through these efforts, I believe that people can pave the way for a balanced lifestyle.
06. The population of most cities is growing as people move to cities to find work and new
opportunities. What problems does overpopulation in cities cause? How can these problems
be solved? 30.09.24
Overcrowding, a consequence of increased migration to urban areas, is a common problem in modern
cities. This phenomenon has caused these places to struggle with traffic congestion and an increased
cost of living. However, governments can tackle these issues by promoting the public transportation
system and controlling the housing market.
One of the first problems that overcrowded cities encounter is traffic jams as insufficient public
transportation enforce people to use their own vehicles. For example, in my hometown Toronto, after
the surge in the number of residents in 2009, the number of people who use their own car and the
amount of time they spend for daily commuting have risen dramatically because the subways did not
enhance their capacity in the same time. This example illustrates how overpopulation can disturb the
commute system in a major city.
Another issue that impacts the residents of crowded cities is the high cost of living, particularly for
housing. For instance, the average monthly rent of an apartment has doubled in recent years, making it
difficult for many people to find affordable properties. The increased demand for houses and their
insufficient production are considered the main reasons for this phenomenon.
Governments, however, can solve these problems by controlling the housing market and promoting
public transportation. The Authorities in these areas should encourage building companies to expand
their activity and provide sufficient residential apartments, thus preventing the prices from going high.
Moreover, they should renovate the public transportation system to respond to necessary commutes.
These measures can mitigate the problems caused by overcrowding.
In conclusion, increased migration and overpopulation can increase the cost of living and traffic
problems in cities; While governments can mitigate these by expanding public transportation and
building enough houses for their citizens.
07. News plays and important part in most people's lives. Why is news so important to people?
Why is so much news dedicated to bad news? Should the news focus on bad news instead?

In modern society, the biggest part of humanity cannot imagine a day without reading the news.
Undoubtedly, it is crucial for people to keep track of events because some important news is able to
affect their lives, nevertheless, news tends to publish bad news in order to attract so much audience
attention. In my opinion, I consider that journalists should pay enough attention to the bright side of life
and inform us about good news.
In all epochs, people were interested in both local news about their own community and some tidings
about foreign countries. The knowledge about what is on the agenda today can be important for making
long-term plans in business and private life, for instance. Moreover, the discussion of news and gossip
works like a social glue for mankind, which helps us to feel connected. Hence, without actual
information about the situation in the world, it is hardly possible to be a well-informed person and to go
with the times.
However, today, news channels are full of bad news about disasters, armed conflicts and incurable
diseases. The main reason why this dreadful content is so widespread can be attributed to aspects of
human psychology because reading bad news makes the brain produce adrenaline that awakens
curiosity and brings excitement, as a result, people want to know more details about some incidents and
spend more time on a media platform. The editors of news resources are aware of this feature, so they
demonstrate to the public more bad news to catch the attention.
Therefore, media resources should make an emphasis on good news instead of concentrating on various
misfortunes. I believe that news channels should try to keep a healthy balance between positive and
negative events in order to create a truthful picture of the world for their audience. Only by watching
both kinds of news, people can understand what is happening on Earth right now.
To sum up, objective information is an important part of our lives, so news channels must provide bad
and good news to keep people informed about all sides of existence.
08. Companies use a variety of methods to improve the sales of their products. What are those
methods? Which is the most effective method?
Sales are a critical point to keep the company sustainable. A lot of businesses use variant strategies to
achieve their goals, and companies tend to focus on the most effective way to improve their products.
This essay discusses kind of methods that use to raise the market and explains the most effective way to
boost their engagement.
Firstly, companies use different types of methods to stand out in the market and compete with other
businesses. For instance, using content marketing ( which create and distribute valuable and relevant
content with output writing, video, and social media post), word-of-mouth (interaction face-to-face to
give knowledge about recommend shops), digital marketing (increase company engagement through
the digital platform), and gift boxes (providing bonus along with a product). Moreover, these techniques
are commonly used by every entrepreneur.

Secondly, businesses overall apply the same approach but let's explore the most effective method which
is considered for gaining more product sales. Based on research from marketing experts in 2022, shows
that "Content Marketing" has been the most effective way of increasing ongoing products. Most people
right now prefer to buy the item they want by looking for high-quality content that meets their needs
and their interests as well as creates loyal followers. For example, many kinds of content creators on
Tiktok are producing a post or videos with engaging stories so that the customers are willing to
purchase the items through the story following their desire.
Overall, generally, various features are considered for the better outgoing of their goods. Nonetheless,
the majority of entrepreneurs tend to focus on the content marketing strategy that yields the best
results.
09. The old generation often hold traditional ideas about the correct way of life, thinking and
behavior. However, some people think that these ideas are not helpful for young people to
prepare for modern life. To what extent do agree or disagree?
The elderly population considers traditional beliefs as the right way of living life in all aspects. However,
others said that these thoughts are not adequate for this new generation to adapt themselves to the
newly developed world. I generally believe that a mix of new experiences and advice from our
grandparents could make us more successful.
On one hand, the older population has experienced massive methods, and they have a thoughtful mind
so it is convenient to utilize their experience and decide in the way that they have recommended. For
example, during negotiations, it is very challenging to cover all possible happens, and for a person who
has little knowledge is demanding competition so in this situation it is very positive to use an
experienced negotiator and tackle all difficulties without making a mistake. For instance, most of the big
companies use their narrator aged between 50 to 60 because they are calm and aware of needs and
responsibilities.
On the other hand, this developing world that reforming day by day has created a number of obstacles
that have never been excited before. Such as the computer. As a result, fields that are new is essential
to solve them with an open-mind view because no one has experienced them before. For illustration,
the problems that occur in websites or media areas are new and need new knowledge and skills so
having an innovative view can help more.
In conclusion, utilizing our grandparenthood knowledge in a complete way is an outdated method also
just relying on the new generation is a risky movement. I think the blend of these two methods will be a
massive success because in this world we are struggling with known and unknown challenges daily, so a
balanced mix of these two views leads us to happier life.
