• The programme prepares a student for enrolment in the relevant NC(V).

The programme is primarily aimed at students who have passed at Grade 9 with weak/poor
literacy and numeracy foundation.

Western TVET College is accredited by the Quality Council for Trade and Occupations (QCTO) to
offer the Hairdressing Certificate of 540 credits on National Qualification Framework (NQF): Level
2 - 4.
This qualification enable students to follow a career in HAIRDRESSING instead of completing
the formal school learning path. The qualification consist of THEORY and PRACTICAL as well as
compulsory WORK PLACEMENT modules at accredited Hair Salons and includes 2 accredited
skills programmes per year.
• The skills programmes are occupationally directed. It focus on practical, simulation and/ work experience.
