NOTE
1 If a USB device requires a larger current than the specification of the PANEL H
Pro or requires a long cable, a separate power supply is required. The length of
USB cables must be 5 m or less (without a relay connector) for USB 2.0/1.1.
For USB 3.0, the length of USB cables must be 3 m or less (without a relay
connector). Some cables do not meet this specification.
2 When using a USB through the punch panel, ensure that the connected USB
cable is 1 m or less.

2.1.1 Precautions Required When Using a Capacitive-Type Touch

Panel
The 21.5” FHD LCD type uses a capacitive-type touch panel. Data can be entered only by touching the
touch panel, not pushing on the touch panel. When using the touch panel, strictly observe the following
precautions: Failure to observe these precautions may result in incorrect entry.

Ensure that the earth terminal is grounded by means of one-point earthing.

If the touch panel gets dirty or water drops are present on it, the touch panel may be slow to respond
or not react at all, or incorrect entry may result when the touch panel is operated. Wipe off dirt with
a soft cloth.
Before turning on the power, make sure that the touch panel is free of dirt or water drops.
After the power is turned on, the initialization process takes 7 seconds. Do not allow conductive
materials, including fingers and metals, to come in contact with the touch panel or even come near it.
Operate the touch panel with your fingers. The touch panel does not react when operated with the tip
of your fingernail. When gloves, such as cotton work gloves, are worn, the touch panel will be slow
to respond or the operability will deteriorate.
Do not hit the surface of the touch panel hard or touch or poke it with a hard object. Doing so may
result in damaged or scratched glass.

2.2 ENVIRONMENT

2.2.1 Environment
When using the PANEL H Pro, make sure that the following conditions of use are met for the inside of
the cabinet to be mounted.

Ambient Operating: 0 to +58ºC (SSD type)

temperature +5 to +45ºC (HDD type)
Non-operating: -20 to +60ºC
Change in Up to 0.3ºC/minute
temperature
Ambient relative Standard: 10 to 75%RH (no condensation allowed)
humidity Short-term (within one month): 10 to 95%RH (no condensation allowed) (SSD type)
Short-term (within one month): 10 to 90%RH (no condensation allowed) (HDD type)
Maximum wet bulb temperature: 29°C (HDD type)
Vibration Operating: up to 0.5G
Non-operating: 1.0 G or less
Environment The PANEL H Pro must be installed in a hermetically sealed cabinet so that it is not exposed
to coolant, lubricant, cutting agent, or the like. No corrosive gas must be present.
Altitude Operating: -60 m to 1,000 m
Non-operating: -60 m to 12,000 m

B-64703EN/02 CONNECTION 2. SPECIFICATIONS

NOTE
1 If the PANEL H Pro is installed more than 1000 m above sea level, a restriction
is imposed on the maximum allowable ambient temperature for a PANEL H Pro
inside the cabinet. For each increase of 100 m from 1000 m above sea level,
decrease the maximum allowable ambient temperature for the PANEL H Pro
inside the cabinet by 1.0ºC.
Example) The maximum allowable ambient temperature for a PANEL H (SSD
type) in a cabinet installed 1750 m above sea level is:
58ºC (1750 1000) / 100×1.0ºC = 50.5ºC).
Accordingly, the allowable ambient temperature range is +5ºC to
+50.5ºC.

Note that when a hard disk is used, the following restriction is applied
to the height of installation:
Operating height above sea level: 60 to 3000 m
Non-operating height above sea level: 60 to 12000 m
2 When using the PANEL H Pro with a peripheral device connected, be sure to
check the operating environmental conditions of the peripheral device as well.
Among the operating environmental conditions of a DVD drive available from
FANUC, the temperature condition is as follows:
Operating : 5 to +45ºC
Non-operating: -20 to +60ºC

2.2.2 Vibration
The PANEL H Pro or machines around it may resonate at certain frequencies. Careful checking is
required after the PANEL H Pro has been mounted on a machine. When a PCI expansion board is used,
the permissible vibration level may be lower than that mentioned in “2.2.1. Environment,” depending on
the specifications of the board.

2.2.3 Measures Against Noise

Take adequate measures to eliminate noise by referring to the connection manual of each CNC.

CAUTION
If an operation error, accident or virus attack occurs, the data in the
mass-storage may be lost, even if the above installation conditions are satisfied.
Therefore, always maintain a backup copy of the data in the mass-storage in
case the stored data is lost or damaged.
In particular, the power must not be turned off while the mass-storage is being
accessed as that increases the possibility of data loss. In addition, the machine
tool builder must urge its end user to take adequate precautions.

2.3 POWER SUPPLY SPECIFICATIONS

2.3.1 Input Power Supply

[Link] External 24 VDC power supply specifications

Supply power (24 VDC) to the PANEL H Pro from an external 24 VDC power supply that satisfies the
following specifications:

Recommended specifications of an external 24 VDC power supply (regulated power supply)

Output voltage
+24 V±10% (21.6 V to 26.4 V)
(Including ripple voltage and noise.)
Output current
The continuous load current must be 10 A or more. (Standard type)
The continuous load current must be 7 A or more. (Thin type option)
(At the highest temperature inside the power magnetics cabinet where a power supply is located)
Load variation (including surge current)
The above output voltage range must not be exceeded due to load variation caused by external DO
and so forth.

[Link] Timing
The power to the PANEL H Pro may be turned on or off before or after the power to a connected CNC is
turned on or off.

If the CNC and PANEL H Pro are connected by HSSB, use the rotary switch on the CNC side of the
HSSB interface board to decide if the CNC and PANEL H Pro start independently or synchronously.

2.3.2 Power Supply

When a power supply that satisfies the specifications in [Link] is prepared, the PANEL H Pro can
supply the following power to peripheral devices.
Check the power supply current of each peripheral device you want to connect and select peripheral
devices so that the maximum current is not exceeded.
