Rational

The issue that I have decided to focus on and advertise on is cigarette

smoking and for that matter any type of smoking inhaling material, but
the main focus is on cigarettes. With this advertisement the age group I
am trying to aim at is from the age of 10 - 45+. The reason why I have
included teenagers is because I guess our generation thinks smoking is
cool, they see an adult doing it so they also follow what the adult is doing
and try it. According to the CDC nearly 9 out of 10 adults who smoke
cigarettes daily first try smoking by age 18, and 99% first try smoking by
age 26, about 1,600 youth smoke their first cigarette and nearly
200 youth start smoking every day. This shows where the world is heading
towards, I guess this is why I also chose to not only focus on teens but
also on the adults because it is the adults that show that it is okay for
youths to do it as well.

For my logo I chose to have a capitative looking logo. Instead of making

the usual logo I made it so that little kids could also see how dangerous it
is to smoke. If a kid sees this, they will know not to even try to smoke a
cigarette because once you start smoking its really hard to break the
grasp or the addiction that it has on you. As for the slogan I picked a
captivating slogan the reason why I picked “Don’t Puff your life away” is
because when you start puffing and inhaling the nicotine in the cigarette
your lungs health starts to deteriorate your lungs gradually becomes black
and this is when mutative cancer starts in your body. This is why I picked
this slogan because it is simple and memorable.

I also chose to have a clothing line called “I quit Smoking”. The purpose of
me picking to make a merchandise is because it will encourage people
that are trying to quit the addiction of smoking. I know that its really hard
to even try and stop smoking for one day, but I believe that with the
encouragement of the merchandise and my poster it will help smokers to
know that there are people supporting them and that they are not cool if
they don’t smoke. I thought of making a competition which will help
smokers to smoking, the competition goes that if you stop smoking for 62
days you will get 500 dollars I included this because there’s something to
fight for so this will motivate them to stop smoking as well.

Do you know that Nicotine is addictive as cocaine or heroin according to

American Heart Association. Yet still any adult can walk into a drug store
and buy a pack of cigarettes, no questions asked. This is why smokers
can’t quit because the government wants money, so they don’t banned
cigarettes. This led me to creating my poster. My poster includes a
superhero and a villain, all ready this catches the attention of anyone that
walks past the poster or sees it online. Nicotine or a cigarette is basically a
villain it acts all cool and sweet until it gets its claws into you and grasp
you then you won’t be able to go back, this is why in the bubble that the
superhero is talking in it says “Never say yes to a cigarette” because its
better not to start at all than to try and quit.
