Answer all items in this section.

Item 1.

And I prayed earnestly to the Lord God, pleading with him, fasting, wearing
sackcloth, and sitting in ashes. I prayed to the LORD my God and confessed the
Sins of my people. I said, Lord God, you are great, and we honour you. You are
Tanthtul to your covenant and show constant love to those who love you and do

Task:
(a) How are the worship practices among Christians today reflected in the above
Bible text?

In some area of Uganda lives a man called Mr. Kavera, who does not have time for
his wife. He spends most of his time with friends and not his wife. In so doing, Mr.
Kavera denies the wifemarital rights to sex, which made her resort to adultery as a
way of solving some of her problems.
Task:

(a) Explain the Christian teachings that can guide Mr. Kavera to fulfil his
marital responsibilities.
(b) How can the Traditional African marriage approaches help to solve the
challenges presented in the above scenario?

Inere was once a rich man who was dressed in the most expensive clothes and
ved in great luxury every day, There was also a poor man named Lazarus, covered
with sores, who used to be brought to the rich man's door, hoping to eat the bits of
food that fell from the rich man's table. Even the dogs would come and lick his
Sores.

The poor man died and was carried by the angels to sit beside Abraham at the
feast in heaven. The rich man died and was buried and in Hades, where he was in
great pain, he looked up and saw Abralham, far away, with Lazarus at his side. So
he called out, 'Father Abraham! Take pity on me, and send Lazarus to dip his
finger in some water and cool my tongue, because I am in great pain in this fire!"...

(a) How should the rich people in Uganda conduct themselves in light of the
above Bible text?
(b) Explain life experiences that are beyond control of the rich people as
reflected in the above Bible text.

Item 4.
A group of youth who were friends got jobs immediately after studies. They got so
happy and started spending their money iresponsibly. Most of their evening time
was spent in bars and hotels, spending on expensive beers, wines and meals. As a
result, they have failed to save their money. It is now over seven years since they
started working but they show no sign of development.
Task:

(a) How can the Biblical teachings on the use of leisure time promote
responsible lifestyles among the youth in the scenario given?
(b) How were some Traditional African ways of spending leisure time different
from those in the above scenario?

A 17 years old lady completed senior four and wished to

pay school fees for her, claiming that educating a girl child is a
waste of money.
Efforts to convince Mr. Aleptong to pay school fees annoyed him and he used
abusive language to shut down the girl's mother. The girl and her mother went to
court as a means of making Mr. Aleptong pay the schools fees, resulting in conflict
in the family.

Task:
(a) How can Christian teachings enable the people in the above scenario to live
in harmony?

(b) Explain contemporary approaches that can bring about peace among the
people in the above scenario.
