Natural fiber composites are increasingly gaining attention due to their sustainability,
lightweight properties, and potential in structural applications. Among these, epoxy
composites reinforced with graphene and pineapple leaf fiber (PALF) offer a promising
balance between mechanical strength and environmental friendliness. This study focuses on
the finite element modelling (FEM) of a hybrid PALF-epoxy-graphene composite plate to
investigate its dynamic behavior through modal analysis. The main objective is to develop an
accurate finite element model that captures the structural response of the composite plate and
to construct an ANN-based predictive model trained on simulated data for predicting natural
frequencies. The scope includes modeling the material’s orthotropic behavior, incorporating
graphene’s enhancement effects, and validating the model using experimental modal analysis
(EMA). Random sampling is employed to generate diverse input parameters for training the
neural network and exploring sensitivity across the material design space. The study will
address the current lack of reliable predictive tools for hybrid bio-composites in dynamic
applications where the frequency response is critical. The methodology involves constructing
a single-layer finite element model in MSC Nastran/Patran using appropriate material
definitions, conducting experimental modal analysis, and correlating both results to assess
model accuracy. The expected outcome is validated in dual-model predictive approach
capable of accurately estimating the modal parameters of PALF-epoxy-graphene plates,
offering a….
