PROGRAM
Introduction:

This community-based program aims to improve sanitation and hygiene in areas


affected by Typhoon Yolanda. Its main goal is to reduce the risk of waterborne diseases and
enhance the well-being of survivors by ensuring access to clean water, promoting proper
hygiene and improving waste disposal, and needs that became even more critical after the
typhoon. The program focuses on educating communities and providing solutions to
improve health and living conditions, improving the quality of life for affected residents.

Goals:
The following are the goals of these activities in the community and health of the people
are as follows:
1. Promote Proper Hygiene Practices
- Organize health education sessions to raise awareness about the importance of
handwashing and hygiene practices.
2. Reduce the risk of waterborne diseases
- Raise awareness on how to prevent the spread of waterborne disease. Conduct
Health Teaching on the residents about safe water storage, proper waste disposal
during floods, and the importance of boiling or filtering water to eliminate harmful
pathogens, that helps in reducing the risk of diseases like cholera, dysentery and
typhoid.
3. Provide Basic Hygiene Kit
- Ensuring thatduring flood condition the survivors can maintain basic hygiene
practices, minimize exposure to contamination, and protect their health and well-
being.
