steps to get your website up and running quickly!
STEP 01
Getting Started

Domain Name
You’ll need a website address for your new site, for example
[Link]. If you already have a domain name – that’s awesome! If
not, you can check out providers such as [Link] or [Link] for
domain name availability and prices.

Site Map & Goals

Clearly define the goals of your website and list out all of your pages. Get
crystal clear about your offerings, what type of images you want to post &
what call to actions you want your visitors to take. Start with 5-6 pages -
you can always come back and add more.

Design Style
Go to Pinterest and put together a board that has a consistent look & feel.
Get ideas for color palettes, fonts & graphics. Be sure to have a logo and
brand in place before you start. Remember consistency is key in branding
so if you go with earth tones - stick to them! Be sure to define your fonts
and gather the font licensing required if they are paid fonts.

STEP 02
Gather content & images

[Link]
Text
Map out all the different pages / sections of your template that contain
sample text. Open up a word doc or google doc and match the amount of
text that each placeholder has. Write out each section in your doc & be
sure spell check! If you want to skip a section make a note to delete that
canvas in the template when you are customizing your website. Take one
page at a time.

Images
As you go through each page, make a note about how many images you
will need & what type of images. Create a folder that contains all of your
images so you can easily upload them to the site when ready.

Look to keep your images between 200kb-5mb max.

If the image needs to be a banner, try - 16:9 or 1500px h x 800px w.

If the image needs to go on the page, try - 3:2 or something like 800px x
600px. Your designer can then crop in if the image needs to be square, but
it just gives them padding to play with.
STEP 03
Customize your template

[Link]
Content
Add all of your content & images that you have mapped out in step 02.
Don't add additional sections or move things around just yet. Focus on
getting the bulk of the content in and then you can tweak things & move
things around as needed.
