PART ONE: INTERVIEW (3 minutes)
In part one of the speaking test, the interlocutor asks questions to each of the
candidates in turn. You have to give information about yourself and express
personal details.
1. Did you take a part-time job while at university?
2. Is it necessary to take a part-time job while you are studying at university?
3. What difficulties may students have when they first go to work?
4. Which one do you prefer – working for a multinational company or a working for
a state-owned company?
5. If given a chance to work abroad, will you be ready for it? Why (not)?
6. What do you need to prepare for yourself before entering the job market?
PART TWO: MINI-PRESENTATION (6 minutes)
Now continue with part two of the test, you are asked to give a short talk on a
business topic. You have to choose one of the topics from the three below and then
talk for about one minute. You have one minute to prepare your ideas.

When you have given your presentation, your partner will ask you a question about what
you have said.
PART THREE: DISCUSSION – about 5 minutes
In this part of the test, you are given a discussion topic. You have 30 seconds to look
at this prompt card and then about 3 minutes to discuss the topic with your partner.
After that the examiner will ask you more questions related to the topic.
For TWO candidates
STAFF TRAINING DAYS: LISTENING TO CUSTOMERS
Your company has received several complaints from customers about how their
concerns have been handled.
You have been asked to talk to your staff about how to improve the way they listen and
respond to customers.
Discuss the situation together, and decide:
what aspects of customer care your staff need to be aware of
how you will monitor their dealings with customers.
For THREE candidates
STAFF TRAINING DAYS: LISTENING TO CUSTOMERS
Your company has received several complaints from customers about how their
concerns have been handled.
You have been asked to talk to your staff about how to improve the way they listen and
respond to customers.
Discuss the situation together, and decide:
what aspects of customer care your staff need to be aware of
how you will monitor their dealings with customers
what feedback and evaluation should take place at later stage.
The interlocutor will then ask you some follow-up questions. Here are some questions
you may be asked.
How important do you think customer care is?
What negative reactions might you get from some staff about this sort of training?
Do you think it’s important to give feedback on staff performances? Why (not)?
Do you think customers notice if staff have been trained in this way? What will
they notice?
