CHAPTER:-1

INTRODUCTON TO STYLE
Question:- Create a New Style Using Drag-and-Drop: Create a
new style by dragging and dropping formatted text into the
Styles and Formatting pane.
Answer:- . In LibreOffice Writer, you can create a new style from existing text by
dragging and dropping the formatted text into the Styles pane. This is a quick and
intuitive way to save a set of formatting attributes as a reusable style.

Steps to Create a New Style Using Drag-and-Drop

1. Open the Styles pane. You can do this by pressing the F11 key on your
keyboard or by going to View > Styles in the menu. This will open the Styles
pane on the side of your LibreOffice Writer window.

2. Format the text. Apply the formatting you want for your new style to a piece
of text in your document. For example, change the font, size, color, and make
it bold.

3. Select the formatted text. Highlight the text that now has the desired
formatting.

4. Drag and drop. Click and hold your mouse button on the selected text. A
small, gray rectangle will appear. Drag this rectangle over to the Styles pane
and drop it anywhere inside the pane.

5. Name the new style. After you drop the text, a dialog box will pop up asking
for a name for your new style. Enter a clear and descriptive name for your
style and click OK.

Your new style is now saved and will appear in the Styles pane, ready to be applied
to other parts of your document.

How to Update an Existing Style

After you've created a style, you may need to update it with new formatting.

1
1. Format a sample. Apply the new formatting to any text in your document that
already has your style applied.

2. Select the text. Highlight the text with the updated formatting.

3. Update the style. In the Styles pane, right-click on the name of your style and
select Update Style. LibreOffice will then apply the new formatting to all other
text in your document that uses that style.
