Speaking 1 - Week 2
Part 1
Hometown
Where is your hometown?
Now, my hometown is in Thu Dau Mot ward in Ho Chi Minh City, which is located in the
south of Vietnam. Besides that, my hometown is one of the most industrialized cities in
Vietnam.
What do you like the most about your hometown?
From my perspective, I really like restaurants and people in my hometown. You know about
the people, they are friendly, and I always feel comfortable when I talk with them. For
restaurants, there are many foreign restaurants like Italian, Thai, or Korean. The food is very
delicious and suitable for my taste.
Is there anything you dislike about it?
As a result of my industrialized hometown, it has air pollution and noise pollution. Therefore,
it affects more people and causes high temperatures all year round.
Has your hometown changed much these years?
My hometown hasn’t changed anything much the years but If I had a chance to change my
hometown, I would like to change the temperature. Because the high temperature takes
place all year round, it makes people feel uncomfortable and affects their concentration, for
people, especially in hard days.
Part 2
Describe an energetic person that you know.
You should say:
Who this person is
Howdo you know this person
Why you think this person is energetic
And explain how you feel about this person.
Today, I wanna to talk about an energetic person that I know is Truc. He is my classmate in
secondary school, and now he is my best friend. For me, he is a positive and energetic person.
When I feel tired, he is always energetic, like he doesn’t have anything to do. Besides that, he
often inspires me to try to study and examine. I am happy when I have a good friend like him.
Part 3
What jobs need a lot of physical energy?
In my opinion, the jobs need a lot of physical energy is about strength or demand to work for
a long time. For instance, construction workers, farmers, and firefighters need strong
stamina to carry out their tasks. Even service jobs like waiters or delivery workers also
require physical energy because they are on their feet for many hours.
Do you agree that people with greater mental energy are more successful in life?
Yes, of course. Mental energy helps people stay focused, solve problems, and make better
decisions, which are crucial for success in almost any field. For example, scientists rely more
on mental energy than physical strength. However, success is often a balance of someone
may have brilliant ideas, but without physical energy to work hard and put those ideas into
practice, it can be difficult to achieve goals.
