The 21st August, 2025
No. 7/3/430(395078)-FS&CA-2025/11598.—In exercise of the powers conferred by the proviso to
article 309 of the Constitution of India read with the Government of India, Ministry of Home Affairs,
Notification S.O. No. 3267, dated 1st November, 1966, the Administrator, Union Territory, Chandigarh is
pleased to make the following rules, regulating the method of recruitment to the post of Manual Assistant
(Group 'C') (Non-Ministerial) in the Legal Metrology Wing of Department of Food & Supplies and
Consumer Affairs & Legal Metrology, Union Territory, Chandigarh, namely:-
1. Short title and commencement:- (i) These rules may be called the Chandigarh Food & Supplies
and Consumer Affairs & Legal Metrology Department (Group-C) (Non-Ministerial) Recruitment
Rules, 2025.
(ii) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.
2. Application:
These rules shall apply to the posts specified in column No.1 of the Schedule annexed to these rules.
3. Number of posts, classification and scale of pay:-
The number of posts, their classification and the scales of pay shall be as specified in columns 2 to 4
of the said Schedule.
4. Method of recruitment, age limit and qualification, etc:-
The method of recruitment to the said posts, age limit, qualifications and other matters connected
therewith shall be as specified in columns 5 to 13 of the said Schedule.
5. Disqualification: No person:
a) who has entered into or contracted a marriage with a person having a spouse living; OR
b) who, having a spouse living, has entered into or contracted a marriage, with any person, shall be

marriage is permissible under the personal Law applicable to such person and other party to the

marriage and there are other grounds for so doing, exempt, any person from the operation of this
rule.
6. Power to relax:-
Where the Administrator, Union Territory, Chandigarh is of the opinion that it is necessary or
expedient so to do, he may, by order, for reasons to be recorded in writing, relax any of the
provisions of these rules in respect of any class or category of persons.
7. Savings:-
Nothing in these rules shall affect reservations, relaxation of age limit and other concessions
required to be provided for Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Classes,Ex-
Servicemen and other special categories of persons in accordance with the orders issued by Central
Government from time to time in this regard.
8. Repeal:-
The Chandigarh Weights and Measures Department (Group-C posts) Recruitment Rules, 2002
notified vide notification No.121-HIII(3)-2002/6765, dated 05.04.2002 in respect of the post of
Manual Assistant only are hereby repealed.

Schedule Annexure-I
Recruitment Rules for the post of Manual Assistant
Organization: Legal Metrology (Weights & Measures) Chandigarh

7. Educational and other Passed 10+2 with the Science Subjects from any recognized
qualifications required for Board.

in Information Communications Technology (ICT) Skills of 80
hours at the time of their appointment, as per instructions issued
by Chandigarh Administration vide No. 28/69-IH(12)/Pers.&Trg.-
2019/17927 dated 25th November, 2019.

HOUSE ALLOTMENT COMMITTEE
Notification
The 21st August, 2025
No. A5/2025/291.—In exercise of the powers conferred by Rule 45 of the Fundamental
Rules as notified by Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pension (Department of
Personnel and Training) Government of India and all other powers enabling him in this behalf, the
Administrator, Union Territory, Chandigarh, hereby makes the following Rules further to amend
the "Government Residences (Chandigarh Administration General Pool) Allotment Rules, 1996 (as
amended from time to time).
1. (i) These Rules shall be called the "Government Residences (Chandigarh
Administration General Pool) Allotment (Amendment) Rules, 2025"
(ii) They shall come into force from the date of their publication in the Chandigarh
Administration Gazette.
2. In the Government Residences (Chandigarh Administration General Pool) Allotment
Rules, 1996 (as amended from time to time) (hereinafter referred to as the ‘Rules’), the proviso
attached to Out of Turn Allotment in the Rule SR-317-AM-11(1)(f) of House Allotment Rules,
1996 as amended by this Administration vide Notification No. A5/2022/286 dated 17.02.2022, shall
be substituted as under:-
“Provided that the benefit of out of turn allotments shall be available to an applicant
only once.
Provided further:
(i) That in case, an officer has taken the benefit (possession) of out of
turn allotment, irrespective of his/her seniority or the category of house so
allotted, the officer shall not be eligible for any further out of turn
allotment in future unless he/she had surrendered the house consequent
upon his/her transfer to a non-eligible office and he/she has been again
transferred to an eligible office (as defined in Sub Rule (i) of Rule 2 of
the Rules.
(ii) In case an allottee is staying in a government accommodation which
was allotted to him/her below the entitled category, he/she may be
considered for out of turn allotment to a higher category only if:-

(a) a minimum of five years has elapsed since the
allotment of the existing government accommodation
(whether of entitled or lower category), and
(b) the employee is eligible for a government
accommodation that is at-least one category (Type) higher
than the current government accommodation, provided the
current accommodation is of Type 6 or below.
However, in normal course he/she has to follow the queue for allotment in the
entitled category.”
