Introduction
The teacher called out the names of the students, checking the attendance
The teacher greeted the students, asking them about their condition
The teacher asked the students about the previous materials they learned in the last

The teacher wrote conversation in the board
The teacher gave the students time to copy and try to understand the conversation
The teacher checked the students while writing by walking around the class
The teacher instructed the students to read and understand about what the dialogue is

Interview
How long have you been teaching English?
Answer: I have been teaching English for one year in formal public / private school, prior to
that, I taught at university as an assistance of lecturer.
What is the athmosphere during the practice of teaching and learning process?
Answer: The athmosphere is enjoyable for me, despite some obstacles, such as the students
are quite hard to handle for they are still 1 st grade of high school, I tell the students orally and
approach them emotionally still with boundaries in dealing with problems regarding to
students’ behavior.
Is there any particular approach you implement?
Answer: I give them the material most of the time (teacher-centered method), I just adjust the
method with the situation I face in the field.
Have you ever asked students to get prepared before the class, such as reading some
materials regarding the upcoming topic?
Answer: When it comes to asking them to do self-study, I do not do it, I know where their
level is which is not possible yet to apply such practice.
What is the best activity for your students to improve the input of language?
Answer: I give the material by lecturing, so the students listen to me.
In regard to the objective of learning, given this is the context of vocational school where
students are equipped with active skills, they are expected to able to use the language in the
work place, is it necessary to teach passive skills too, such as grammar, structure? How do
you teach them to match the expected output of vocational school?
Answer: I tend to use topics related to the prospective job the students will do in the future.
Can we apply literature in vocational school?
Answer: The students are lack of motivation, it is unlikely to give additional materials other
than the compulsory ones, the example of it can be seen in the English extracurricular where
many students do not even attend the meeting even though they said that they will come.
