Methodology:
This methodology provides a structured approach for conducting research and implementing
activities aimed at promoting gender equality and empowering women in a welfare organization.
The focus is on gathering meaningful data from the target population, ensuring ethical integrity,
and selecting participants in a way that best supports the objectives of the project. The
methodology emphasizes respect, inclusivity, and social justice as guiding principles.
Selection of Activities:
Awareness campaigns (Week 1)
Counseling and support services. (Week 2)
Community engagement. (Week 3)
Support groups and mentorship. ( Week 4)
Empowerment through education. (Week 5)
Data Collection Methods
To understand the challenges faced by women and to evaluate the effectiveness of empowerment
interventions, a combination of qualitative and quantitative data collection methods will be used.
In-depth interviews will be conducted to explore individual experiences of gender inequality,
while structured surveys will gather broader data on education, employment, and perceptions of
empowerment. Focus group discussions will provide a platform for shared experiences and
group reflection, encouraging solidarity among participants. Additionally, observation will be
used during empowerment activities and training sessions to assess engagement and behavioral
responses. Case studies may also be developed to track the long-term impact of specific
interventions. These methods are chosen for their ability to provide a comprehensive
understanding of both personal narratives and measurable outcomes.
Ethical Approval and Permissions
Ethical approval will be obtained from the relevant institutional review board or the ethics
committee of the NGO. All research activities will adhere strictly to ethical standards that protect
participants’ rights and dignity. Informed consent will be obtained from all participants after
clearly explaining the purpose of the study, the procedures involved, and their right to withdraw
at any time without any negative consequences. Confidentiality will be maintained by
anonymizing personal data and securely storing research materials. The principle of non-
maleficence will be upheld by ensuring that no emotional or psychological harm comes to the
participants during the study. Respectful language and culturally sensitive practices will be used
throughout the project to maintain the dignity of every woman involved. Permissions will also be
secured from NGO authorities, and if participants are under legal guardianship, consent will be
obtained from guardians or other responsible individuals. In cases where challenges arise in
obtaining permissions, extra effort will be made to build trust and explain the value of the project
to stakeholders.
Sample Selection Process
The sample this project includes women between the ages of 17 and 35 who are currently facing
or have experienced gender-biased behavior. These women may be students, interns, young
professionals, or individuals involved with the NGO through educational or vocational training
programs. The chosen age range represents a critical period in which many women are building
their identities, pursuing education, or beginning their careers, making them especially
vulnerable to systemic inequality. By focusing on this group, the project aims to address gender-
based challenges at a formative stage and equip participants with tools to advocate for their
rights. In such cases, alternative approaches such as conducting online surveys, offering flexible
participation schedules, or collaborating with community leaders to identify suitable participants
will be considered. These strategies will help ensure that the sample is representative and that the
findings of the study are both reliable and meaningful.
After collecting data, both qualitative and quantitative analyses will be conducted. Thematic
analysis will be applied to interview and focus group data to identify common patterns, themes,
and insights into the participants’ experiences. For survey data, statistical analysis will be used to
measure key indicators related to women’s empowerment, such as educational attainment,
employment status, and changes in self-confidence. Pre- and post-intervention assessments will
be conducted to evaluate the impact of activities and track improvements over time. This multi-
dimensional approach will ensure that the research findings are comprehensive and support
actionable conclusions for future empowerment programs.

Elaborate Details of This Activity:
The “Emotional Expression Circle” is a group-based therapeutic activity designed to foster
emotional release, build mutual understanding, and strengthen psychological support among
women in NGOs. The primary objective of this activity is to provide a safe, confidential, and
non-judgmental space where women can openly express their thoughts, emotions, and life
experiences. Many women supported by NGOs face challenges such as trauma, social stigma,
abuse, or emotional neglect, and they often lack opportunities to process these experiences in a
supportive environment. This circle serves as a platform where they can be heard, validated, and
encouraged by others who may have faced similar struggles.
The activity begins with a warm welcome by the facilitator, who Introduces the purpose of the
session and explains the ground rules—such as active listening, mutual respect, and
confidentiality—to ensure a safe environment for all participants. Women are seated in a
comfortable circular arrangement to foster equality and openness. Emotion cards and journals
may be provided to assist participants in identifying and expressing their feelings, especially for
those who find it difficult to verbalize emotions. Participants are encouraged to share recent
emotional experiences, personal stories, or internal struggles while others listen empathetically,
offering non-verbal support like nodding or smiling. The facilitator gently guides the
conversation with reflective questions, helping participants to delve deeper into their emotional
worlds while maintaining a comforting pace.
The duration of the activity ranges from 60 to 90 minutes, depending on the size and engagement
level of the group. The activity encourages collective healing, enhances self-awareness, and
builds a sense of community among participants. It also helps the facilitator to identify recurring
emotional themes or specific individuals who may benefit from one-on-one counseling or further
psychological support. By promoting openness, vulnerability, and mutual encouragement, the
“Emotional Expression Circle” aligns with the overall goals of counseling and support services
—empowering women, reducing emotional isolation, and fostering resilience in a group setting.
