First of all real name of petrol is PMS (premium motor spirit). Reason for this name is because
theybelong to family of spirits like your alcohol and other volatile solvents.

Petrol can come in different colors because of the type of additives used in refining it and there are
reasons for that.

Some of the reasons are:

1. EASE OF IDENTIFICATION :

We have about 3 popular categories of petrol, they are:

i) PREMIUN = this one is a high grade and normally comes in pink/ wine red colour.

ii) REGULAR = this one is normally greenish in colour.

iii) The Mid grade, this one is in between the premium and the regular.

The best grade of petrol suppose be the Premium and thats why they named petrol Premium Motor
Spirit but its unfortunate we hardly see this grade in this country because they prefer importing the
lower grades because they are cheaper.

2. DYE ADDITIVES :

During refining, they normally add dye additives to help indentify the type of fuel and its octane rating
for specific uses.

3. OCTANE RATING :

Petrol with higher octane ratings are usually differenciated from the ones with lower octane rating by
colour. Different types of engines are built to use specific type of petrol just the way they use different
ratings of engine oil. Turning your engine to anything goes fuel is very dangerous to the engine. Always
stick to manufacturers recommendation.

4. ADDITIVES AND TREATMENT :

 Some petrol contains additives and detergents for cleaning of the internal components of the engine for
improved performance, reduction in emissions and engine lubrication. This is why when you open an
engine that comes from abroad no matter how old the car is the engine still looks very clean without
sludge but once the car stays here and use our fuel for few months the engine and fuel pump colour
changes from gold to dirty brown or black.

5. REGULATION AND CONTROL :

Some countries use different petrol colours for differenciation in areas of control and regulation.

You cant expect a heavy duty petrol engine to use lowest rating of fuel and give you same result, no
way.

▪︎GREEN = Higher octane fuel with additives.

▪︎Yellow = Regular unleaded fuel.

First thing to consider before buying fuel in any filling station is the quality of fuel they sell. Most of our
people here are only concerned on the ones selling at cheaper rate without knowing that when you buy
white fuel from them at cheaper rate you ended up short changing yourself because its combustion rate

SVD, who recently was named archbishop of the Archdioces of Ende in Indonesia.

Nimrod has been one of the most researched figures in the Bible alone. He has a deep historical context,

8. Make it a point to speak at least to one stranger a day at your office or surrounding and try to

9. Learn a new language every year. Also speak in multiple languages through out the day.

10. Start playing a new sport and try to be at least an intermediate player in it.

11. Be curious be hungry, ask questions to yourself about everything that you are curious about and find

12. Eat only what is required for your body in limited quantity. If possible eat foods which contain
essential amino acids for brain development. (Ex - sea food and nuts.)

13. Take a stroll down your lane before hitting the bed. Do not use your phone just before sleep or when

Artificial Dyes or Colours are common place in our food and supplements today. In fact, consumption of
them has increased a whopping 500% in the last 50 years.

While many countries have limited and even banned these synthetic chemicals, Australia, New Zealand
and the USA continue to allow them in foods, confectionary and sports nutrition products.

When we created SWITCH NUTRITION we wanted to help not harm, so it was a NO BRAINER to go colour
free! We were surprised at how many so called ‘Health’ or ‘Performance’ supplements contained these
artificial ingredients.

Not surprisingly, when you google the numbers E102 (Yellow 5), E110 (Yellow 6) or E129 (Red 40) you
don’t find any health or performance benefits. You will, however find articles, abstracts and studies
supporting their toxicity.

Note: When a toxic compound enters the body your detoxification system goes into overdrive. This
essentially puts your body into a stressed state. The liver and other organs work hard to eliminate these
toxins which may cause weight gain, inflammation, leaky gut, rapid heart rate, hyperactivity, mood
disturbances, poor sleep, lowered libido, allergies, brain fog and much more.

There is even more concerning research on these compounds, linking them and their ingredients to
tumours, severe allergies and hyperactivity. Evidence suggests they can cause nerve cell damage, DNA
changes (mutagenicity) and mitochondrial dysfunction.

Let’s look at the top three colours that make up 90% of what’s used in the supplement industry.

FD&C YELLOW 5 (E102) – Tartrazine: This chemical colourant is approved for use in foods in Australia,
New Zealand and the USA. However, in 2010 the European Union legislated that foodstuffs containing
tartrazine carry this package warning ''Tartrazine may have an adverse effect on activity and attention in
children.” It has also been linked to asthma, migraines, thyroid cancer, weight gain, anxiety, clinical
depression, blurred vision, purple skin spots and unexplainable itching.

FD&C YELLOW 6 (E110) – Sunset Yellow: This artificial colour has been banned in Norway because its
known to cause nasal congestion, hives, allergies, kidney tumours, DNA damage, hyperactivity,
abdominal pain, headaches, migraines, vomiting, nausea, hormonal changes and more.

FD&C RED 40 (E129) – Allure Red: This azo dye is banned in more than six European countries and was
voluntarily phased out of the UK. However, it continues to be used and sold in the USA, Australia and

These include dizziness, muscle pain, heart palpitations, asthma, shortness of breath, lowered libido and
liver tumours.

All three of these dyes contain benzidine which is a known carcinogen (cancer causing agent), yet many
companies, without any regard for you or your health, continue to add them to your food and
supplements.

It’s obvious that artificial colours are not going to help the way you look, feel and function, but more
importantly they may actually slow your progress and cause additional health problems.

Artificial colours are affecting everyday people everyday. More than two thirds of parents have noticed
abnormal behaviour in their children after consuming these chemicals. It would be remiss to think that
only children are at risk of harm.

ACTION PLAN:
Avoid any products that contain artificial colours… SIMPLE!!

Start reading the labels of your products because there are now supplements available that will work
