SECTION -B (5M)
Read the given passage and answer the following questions.
“Tap..tap tap!!”One Saturday morning, Meera woke up to the
sound of raindrops tapping on her window. The sky was covered
with grey clouds, and the smell of wet soil filled her room. She
quickly finished her breakfast so she could play outside.[Para 1]
By afternoon, the rain had slowed down. Meera put on her bright
yellow raincoat and splashed into the puddles in her garden. That’s when her cousin Arjun
came there with a big smile and an idea. [Para 2]
“Let’s have a paper boat race!” Arjun said, holding colourful sheets of paper. Together, they
folded boats of all shapes and sizes—one was pointy like a shark’s fin, another had rainbow
stripes, and Meera’s favourite was covered with tiny Camlin star stickers. [Para 3]
They placed their boats in the biggest puddle in the garden. The water moved as the boats
floated ahead. Meera’s starry boat sped up, but Arjun’s rainbow boat was having a hard time.
They laughed and cheered as the boats swirled in circles in the rainwater. [Para 4]
In the end, the race didn’t matter as they had a lot of fun. They were splashing each other
with water and got wet and muddy. They were smiling from ear to ear. It had been the best
rainy day ever. [Para 5]
